My favorite thing about drag racing is how everyone is friends in the pits. Enemies on the line, but friends in the pits. Get well soon John, love ya!

I met JF twice in 94 and 95 at thunder valley Ok. I am in a wheelchair. He gave me a free t shirt and took a picture with me. The next year I was at the race. I was in the pits and I hear someone yell my name. It was JF. It came off the hauler and took another pic with me. He gave me 120 dollars of stuff free. The old black nightmare continues 10x shirt. Garlits and Muldowney were there too. They signed stuff but didn't talk to me. I know this is silly but JF is a friend for what he did and he gave me my last good memory with my dad. I felt like a man that day. I was 13 and 14 years old. Tysm JF. Im 43 now, and I think of you everyday.

I'm 74 years old and raced a street legal Suzuki drag bike for 18 years. I set 2 track records at age 69, then I had a bad crash past the finish line after a pass of 8.64 @ 164 mph so I can feel for John's plight. I got back to racing at age 70 and hoping John can do the same.

The NASCAR community can never match the comeraderie and sportsmanship of the NHRA. Our drivers never get into fist fights and never cheat at the other driver's expense. Many times a low buck racer will win a round but blow an engine in the process. That team may not have the parts to show up for the next round, but other teams will supply them with the parts and manpower to get them back on the track, even though they may have to face that team in the next round. Try and see that at a NASCAR race.
