Plus, the writers usually have this big long script, but in order to keep it within the time parameters, they have to cut several lines right before it airs and run it by the actors so they have very little time to review. The first time they see the new script fully formed is when it's displayed on the cue cards.

Leslie was just terrible at cues and emphasis. Yeah, the point was to act disorganized, but she was flubbing her lines bad

Skinny Mccollum Leslie isn't really an actress she's more a standup comedian who got really lucky. Stand ups don't really make for good sketch performers, Pete Davidson, Jon Rudnitsky, Jay Pharoah, Melissa Villasenor etc.

Benjamin Gruca America is suffering due to lack of diversity SNL has been about white male humor for years and people have had to adapt if it doesn't come from the frequency of a white prospective then we are closed minded every one should not be marginalized to one idea of humor

It's not even the writing I have an issue with in this sketch. It was just horribly executed by Leslie. She misread her cards many times and fumbled with the props. The timing and everything was off. We've seen this consistently from her. The sketch could've had life if it wasn't for a botched performance.

Nicholas Pesch I have been watching SNL from the days of Chevy and Garrett and there have been many performances that we're lack people just didn't get it here's the thing black people in America have to marganalized daily on our jobs school or going to the mall we have to act most black people have a what we call is a work voice and if you black you know what i am talking about white America does not want to understand black America out side of hip hop music we have a culture and frenquency as well that is not celebrated we have stories to tell just like I understood Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bullers day of we want you to understand Love and Basketball and Coming to America I have worked in customer service were I was told saying that's wuz up to a customer is not appropriate but I can say awesome there both a forms of slang so what makes one more appropriate than the other because one is vally white slang and the other is hood slang only in America 😎 I am going back to the 90's on this one It's a black thank you wouldn't understand 😎

Leslie is hardly one of the funniest black female comedians. Tiffany is funny as hell though.

Skydiggz funny is relative...like food...you may have different taste than I do...I think Leslie is funny...she's my age though...I think Tiff is funny...but she's a bit too crude for my taste...it's all relative.

I'm happy that Leslie is getting her just do after putting in work as a comedian but you're right funny is relative (close to my age) but she just don't have it in her. She breaks character on ever sketch basically and just simply isn't funny in my opinion just like when she hosted the BET awards earlier this year it was just as horrible to watch as this sketch was. We can chalk it up to the writers perhaps but even with a bad script i think a good comedian can make gold out of coal (if that makes sense) and i agree with you on Tiff, she rose to the occasion but as of right now she cant carry on her own, give her a few more years and experiences & i think she may will be able to.
