@@BrocheBallet Great! Thanks to your video and two others I was able to increase the flexibility in my left leg equivalent to that of my right leg today 👏🏿. 😁 Thanks again and for asking.
Thank you for this excellent video! I absolutely love your channel. I have been taking beginner adult ballet classes as an absolute beginner for the past 9 months. Since then, I have been stretching regularly similar to this for the splits (both forward and straddle). I am in my early 30s and have never taken ballet or gymnastics as a child, so I am generally not very flexible and have never done the splits before, but I have noticed an improvement in my range of motion since I started stretching for the splits nine months ago. I still have a ways to go though. I know this can vary per individual and patience is required, but approximately how long should I anticipate it will take me to reach this goal? The general statement I have heard in the past is that if you did not train your flexibility before puberty, it is nearly impossible to get that similar range of motion to people who started ballet/gymnastics before puberty. I just want to make sure I’m setting realistic goals and expectations for myself!
Hi there! Coming back after an injury is always tricky, so always proceed with caution! I recommend making sure to stretch gently and slowly, and even work with a physical or massage therapist to help you work through any built-up scar tissue that you might be dealing with that might be limiting your range of motion. Listen to your body and work slowly and consistently! Good luck! :)
