I use a similar combination, but instead of the Ironite, I combine liquid chelated iron and liquid sea kelp and spray it on the lawn. Sometimes I will throw in some liquid humic acid also. Milorganite is an amazing product, I just wish the price hadn’t doubled.
I love that you are “weird” with your grass also. I’m the same way. I think my neighbors try to get there yards looking as nice as mine. Never going to happen! 🤗
Every time I watch a great lawn video it just so happens to be from a fellow Indianaian. Up here in NW Indiana we are getting a ton of rain 5 days away from the first day of summer still getting April showers.
The only thing more beautiful than your yard is that baby!! Congratulations 🍾 to you and your family. I just had my first baby. Now I have to get moving on my lawn.
new subscriber - definitely watch the ironite on the cement. You could also use a liquid iron, which is what I do, gives great results, also everyone should know the only time to use iron is when you turf is actively growing or you will not see the desired results. Good video
Irony.....i've never seen anyone's lawn that green and he wants it greener? I'd be happy to have grass that thick, let alone green. Oh God, all those whirlidoos all over the fresh cut lawn.....lol. And that looks like a great neighborhood.
Great video and tips. I have almost the same setup as you, my old super recycler, earth way spreader and trusty milorganite. But.... and this is huge, I didn’t see you wearing safety glasses when you cut or trimmed without an edge guard. I don’t want to tell you what to do, but if you lose an eye from something flying up and hitting you, that would be awful shame. I’ve been working with my hands my whole life and every time I brave it something flys up and hits me. I’ve been hit with metal shrapnel too many times to not always wear my safety glasses. They’re only 10 bucks and they will save your vision one day!!! Plus I want to see you keep making awesome lawns! Keep up the great work!
Re your edging - I agree with edge after mow. But a trick I used to use with a twin-blade electric was to raise the mower on one side and lower it on the other and walk the mower along the edge with about 1-/3 of the mower over the sidewalk This puts a delicious chamfer on the edge. You can adjust the mower wheel heighrs and the portion of the mower over the sidewalk for your own custom chamfer.
My guest love how I have clover and a natural plants growing everywhere - bees and damsel flies enjoy it too - we have 2 bumblebee hives on site and butterflies visit all the time - I encourage my neighbours to stay away from herbicides and let nature take its course - much better than spraying poison on your lawn which affects the environment. - Stay organic and have a non poisonous day.
I got the xgreen fertilizer you recommended. Unbelievable results in just a few days. Thank You for your very informative videos, your very on point. You have been a tremendous help with getting my heavy sand soil to grow grass. Stay safe bro.
Eff Frank for trying to throw down. He is probably the person that dropped a deuce in your lawn too. +1 to edging after you mow. In my neck of the woods the soil is very sandy. Mowing after you edge is asking for sand to dull your mower blade prematurely.
Kudos for ORGANIC!!! Don’t use synthetic crap around those beautiful babies. Keep up that good looking lawn and teaching others it CAN be done without without chemicals.
Cute guest! Now I don't know your soil's mineral content, but I do know that magnesium is also critical for making chlorophyll. I like to use an iron recipe that contains a lot of magnesium carbonate, to which I also add a cup of zinc sulphate powder and a quarter cup of borax, and I mix it all up in a wheelbarrow with a small shovel and a garden rake. Now that recipe is good for our sandy soill in the Vancouver BC area. To keep the mowing frequrncy as low as possible, I like to keep the minerals high and the nitrogen as low as the grass needs to keep it dark green but not growing furiously.
I used so many iron products even my own iron sulphate mixes everything was ok some pretty good but I found something called Main Event dty iron a week ago and oh man that's exactly what I wanted
Hey thanks for putting this up! What a worthy guest indeed, congratulations he/she will love this video when they get a chance to see it. Your yard is beautiful!
Thank you very much! I cant wait to show her one day. My oldest daughter is in my next video that should be out tomorrow and she was so excited to be filmed yesterday ha. Kids are funny
@@TheLawnWhisperer Nice that in our day and age we can provide the opportunity for our children to be on an online video. What a world we're living in.
Helpful video. One small suggestion. Level your audio between when you're talking and the music starts playing. You're pretty quiet talking, so I turn the volume up. Then when you go to the music, it's surprisingly loud. Just a little idea to help with your production value. Congratulations on the baby too! I'm expecting one in 6 months!
Thanks for the suggestion! I have actually learned to do this since this video. I f you go check out my more recent videos they should be much better. Good luck with the baby
nice vid. i'm a milorganite fan. just a suggestion. i have to crank up the volume to hear your voice, but when your music cuts it, it's friggin loud! try to even out the volume :)
Your pretty much the man at this. Very impressed. Will i attempt this. Strong possiablity that i may. Looking up ironite right after this post. Milorganite i just bought. Lets see. But i have crabgrass. So i dont think im ready. Tips to elimate crabgrass?
