The Toughbook screen is the 3:2 equivalent to 1440p (or 2k), so is much higher resolution. Also the taller screen makes such a big difference especially for documents and web browsing.
The Getac K120 and the Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 both have a screen brightness of 1200 nits. The difference between the two is that the CF-33 has anti-glare treatments and the K120 has Getac's LumiBondTM 2.0 sunlight readable LED display. Yes, they should perform about the same outdoors.
