His voice is so powerful and beautiful AT THE SAME TIME! I also love his rendition of this song. You can feel the emotion of the song in his voice. I also get goosebumps hearing him sing this. Bravo, Mr. Crawford!!!
This is just my opinion, but I ike this Gethsemane performance better than the PBS concert from 1998!!! I have NEVER seen Mike so into this song!! And that note in the middle, and note at the end---surpasses phenominal!
Thank you so much for posting this! It's the only video I've been able to find where Michael sings this song. It's absolutely beautiful!!! :-) Thanks again.
Michael is the most phenominal man in the universe!! I definately agree on The Angel Of Music Comment. He sings like heavenly spirit. And Mike has a heart of pure gold....literaly. Michael has to be the nicest man in the universe.
EXCELLENT!! I would have enjoyed seeing him in person. I think it is pretty cool to watch @ 5:31 his breathing control, I would be face first on the floor.
gotta love that long note. Pipes man....Pipes. And by the way, he's working...but he's on broadway. Google his name. Lots of shows. He jsut finished a run as the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz
@colinmcphan Desperatly agree with ya colinmcphan!!!! I have worn out all the CD's and have exhausted each and every song. And I have watched the PBS concert too many times- I have literaly gotten sick of it!! Not in abd way--I can watch the concert in my head I mean!! If Mike came to perforem in Syracuse, I would pay $200 for tickets in the front row! I need my Michael fix badly.....I wish he had another PBS concert and a new CD!
MrAlessandro Fiorentin It's not a smile, it's a melancholy expression, as if to say, "I once was happy, I remember those times, why can't now be like those times.
A far from shabby performance. However, I've never this song sung better that the performance given by Michael Ball during the 50th birthday concert for ALW at the RAH in London. That one really did make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
You do realize it's from a musical and he's only performing it, right? Just like Hamilton is a great musical, but you don't see anyone going around claiming that it's verbatim historical fact. Geez. 🙄
