That brick red paint is actually a 1960s Chevy primer paint color. I do believe that the paint on that car is highly polished primer paint , and that car was probably going to get an upgraded paint job, or a racers quick paint and sticker scheme for the race track
Well have you had enough time to figure out that the alternator is not a turbo nor was the water pump in the trunk a turbo. The Corvair Corsa had the 140hp four carburetor engine with a 4speed manual transmission. That was my first car that I drove in 1975. It was handed down from my father after a woman backed into it in the parking lot at my father's place of employment. It looked like crap and would smoke you out in the winter when you used the heater, at least till the oil burned off the exhaust manifolds. But the car tan great, a total blast to drive and as good in the snow as a VW Beatle. Have fun in your restoration project. And I sure you were just kidding about the turbo stuff anyway right? Yes I did finally figure out this is not a turbocharged Spyder :( I hope you enjoyed the humor. I'm looking forward to driving it around in the snow.
