So they don't have Uber in the Philippines, instead they have Grab. Works exactly the same way and if you don't want to move around town on a scooter in the heat then this is a great way to support locals and have a little bit of AirCon.

@3:51 making fun of in Tagalog is "inuuray" ang salita nung Koreano. Making(berb) fun of = inuuray (verb translation/conjugation) Fun of = uray (root word before the verb) is a deep Tagalog word. I'm born and raised from Quezon Province, Tagalog speaker but now an expat living in Canada.

Love how the driver at 12:18 shared the reasonable daily wage (~$52 per day) in order for locals (or anyone really) to have a pretty normal life with some breathing room. financially. That's $1,092 for, say, 21 working days in a month. That's everything including food, utilities and I'm assuming rent/mortgage.

Kurt: The word you're looking for is,' Pina-alis' .... The root word is, alis (to leave) ... It means to throw someone out or to make someone leave. For example.: Pina-alis ang Uber ng gobyierno ng China, kasi mayroon silang sariling app. ( Translation : The government of China threw Uber out because they have their own app )

Kurt, when you refer to previous dates or time periods, like “[back] in 2018,” you say “noong/nung 2018” instead of “sa 2018.” You use “sa” in relation to dates for future tense. the other day = nung isang araw the day after tomorrow = sa isang araw

2:25 In tagalog, Sinipa ng China.😀 6:35 If you see Filipinos in Utah, force them to speak Tagalog by saying, hindi ako magaling mag-Ingles. Tagalog lang ang alam ko, hindi ko maintindihan ang sinasabi mo. o magsingit ng ilang salitang Tagalog sa usapan. Pag naintindihan nila, umpisahan mong magsalita ng purong tagalog. o sabihin mo gusto mong mag practice ng tagalog. Kahit ingles ang salita nila tagalog parin ang isagot mo. 😀 6:56 palagay ko January till end of February maganda ang weather sa RP(Republic of the Philippines). Pero March, April, maraming mga prutas sa RP.
@jessicaal415
@jessicaal415 4 месяца назад
2:25 you can translate “they got kicked out” in literal term “”sinipa sila” more of a street talk, more commonly used and it has a greater degree of force instead of “pinalabas” meaning they were shown the way out. Funny enough “pinalabas” is also used to translate “they were shown (as in shown in TV, a movie, a presentation, etc)” and not with force. Tagalog is hard and could be confusing for those just learning the language.
