Hi Gio, just wanted to add, that when I had my phone stolen to weeks ago here in Dumaguete got a new SIM card in Robinsons in southern Duma. I got it registered with the lady right outside the SMART shop in the mall, and she told me that this would be for life. I could keep the number as long as I would. It would never expire and I wouldn't have to do any more registration with the government. Which Globe office did you go into?

It's funny, I got the post paid when I first moved here last April. My landlady helped me by taking me to the Globe store and helped set everything up. I got the post paid because I didn't like the pre paid sim cards. The phone is the only thing in my name too. Everything else, electric, water, and wifi is in the condo owner's name. I do an electronic transfer for rent and utilities every month. So easy.

Can you make WhatsApp calls to most places in the Philippines or do you recommend getting a Philippine phone number instead? I have T-Mobile International Plan and WhatsApp. You’re right about it being cheaper with a different VPN. I booked a flight from living here in Thailand to Philippines. It was cheaper on quote in Thai Baht. But when was prompted to pay in US currency (home currency), it was more expensive.

I am in Mexico and want to check out Ecuador on my way to Cebu City or there about. I am thinking of changing to Google FI for my phone.
