"Nobility or the rich would wear suit, made from many kind of material. It is elegant, simple and easy to wear, usually it is worn to formal events, such as parties. Although many also wear it to work, as many workers of this time need not to go out under the scorching sun, but facing a computer for many hours of the day. A man on his own can wear asuit without any help in less than 15 minutes. However, a wife's help is sometimes given, both to speed up the process and to strengthen the marriage. If a man feels not too safe, he sometime would wear a kevlar vest underneath his suit. Not enough to stop high caliber bullets or arrow, but it's enough against pistols and knives. He then polish his shoes. Made out of leather, these shoes are sometimes different in color to the suit, giving the wearer some accent."

I think the 18th century is really overlooked. Lots of attention is given, in films and stuff, to the medieval times, occasionally the Renaissance, and then the 1800s, with the cowboys and Indians. But the 1700s really had a lot of bizarre stories, and characters insdie it. Pirates, for starters, but also so much more. It's really one of the most interesting ones.
@bailsaz
@bailsaz 11 месяцев назад
The reason it’s avoided in most movies etc is because of the amount of politics every individual was involved in at the time. Politics were at their height much as fashion was. While you may find 17-1800s politics interesting, many find them boring. Also there are some touchy topics that are written in history that others don’t believe or agree with causing lots of hysteria if you write history wrong in your movie or book etc. I think the late 1700s is some of the most fascinating times of human history.

An Englishman joining Napoleon's Army? Last I heard there was a term for that, namely treason.

Why did men stop wearing ruffled shirts? It looks very good.

Check out some videos of the mid 1970's. Ruffled shirts made a comeback for formal wear for a brief time. Your father's prom photos, if you live in a country which knows what "prom" means.

You do not say thanks to a servant for ordinary things. That is for what he is there. If he saves your life in a battle, then you say it and give him a duchy.

Since the upper class and nobility were waited on hand and foot they would have been saying thank you a hundred times a day. So they didn't. Besides as far as they were concerned it was beneath them to speak to people who were not of their station

I think women's hair looked horrible though, atleast amongst nobility. Looked better in Medieval Times with a natural and long style.

You see, even the 1940s were better. But midway across the 20th century, fashion shifted to innovation, and thus, apparently, to a downfall.
