Thank you Dr. Kopelman!! I watched all of your videos and it helped me so much. I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty on 2/14/23 and couldn't be happier.
I definitely need mine done. My hooded eyelids are getting worse as I’m aging and I’m very self conscious of it now, never bothered me before. I’d rather have surgery because not sure the other beauty treatments will work long term like the PLASMA IQ or Fibroblast!
I had my upper bleph done with the same Doctor, Dr. Charles. Its my 19th day from the surgery and I am recovering very well. Although I still have swelling overall my eyes looks symmetrical ,scar likewise is fine its not very visible. I watched this more than 3 times before I decided to go the Doc Charles. This video is very helpful!😊
@@Muntish Hi Doctor Charles is a Filipino surgeon based in Cebu Philippines who did Danicas Bleph ( othe girl in the vid) He is really good at his job. im in my 10th months now and im looking better than before 😊☺️
@@Hannah-gz1oxHi! anu name ng clinic ni Doc Charles sa Cebu? at san located? How long did it take before the scar is not that visible anymore? Thank you 🥹❤️
@@withlovedeejay7318 after 3-4 weeks from removal of stitches po, Im almost 1 year nako, my eyes are amazing hahaha sobra ng improve yung face ko. During the 1st week after surgery no pain po as no pain it looks painful because of the bruising and the redness but no pain at all. Thank you, Dr. Kopelman. Excellent video! I wish I had known this information 40 years ago. My eyes still can’t close because of a botched eye surgery. Unfortunately, the same doctor did my nose. Five nose renovation surgeries and two eye surgery later, still can’t close my eyes, never mind I am thankful to just have a nose, regardless of how it looks. The first doctor was not a plastic surgeon, I later discovered. Imperative to research the doctor and not be easily influenced or persuaded. It took 10 years of surgeries to get where I am now. Thank you for your informative channel, hope to spare others from the lifelong misery’s that I’m reminded of every day.
I had mine done bc I only had vision in one eye and at my age my eyelids dropped which Obstructed my vision in my good eye. It was done at a university clinic and I’m very happy with the looks. My face looked younger 👍
The doctor who did her eyes is SHADY AF. First, no signage outside the clinic. Then he set up clinic 2 hrs away from the city, then they give me an address of a strip mall, they were on the upper floor, way at the back, no signage. After consult, they charged me 2x the price of board certified plastic surgeons' consultation fee and when i asked for official receipt, they said they didn't have any. What the hell??? Oh, and this doctor only graduated 5yrs ago. I asked for credentials. HE IS NOT A BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON, just some shady doc in some shady clinic. BEWARE!!!
I had my levator muscle worked on, you mentioned that the eye kind of drags toward the inside, I appreciate your comment on the anxiety aspect because it is getting to me.
I went to a plastic surgeon for a consult and since I’m young (in my 30’s) he said he wouldn’t recommend this surgery. It was discouraging because I would love this surgery even though my eyelids are not drooping down so it’s medically necessary.
Wish you were in my area . I want the surgery , but I’m very picky as to who I trust to do it . The only doc I’d heard good things about is getting older to the point of starting to get bad reviews ( patients saying his hands tremble . Yikes !). Can’t find any before and after pics on any other nearby surgeons’ websites . Nor any reviews involving blepharoplasty.
A video suggestion: Many persons have voiced an interest in what procedure Kylie Jenner might have done to get the changes in her upper eyelids/eyebrows. A video about that would be interesting.
Careful even don't think giving your eyes in the hands of doctor Andrew Henrick in Laguna Hills, he messed my eyelids , my eyes look much worse than befor, it's already 10 months past, I'm still suffering pains, dryness, excessive skin of one of the eyes, which interfere my vision. Please look at least for several reviews before going under your surgeon's knife, so your life will not be ruined 😥🥵
@@YesiVillaabsolutely! I f*%*ing hate when ppl say that just to make themselves feel better. She did not hat made her happier and made the right choice as she’s looking fresh fr
My ptosis surgery was NOT cosmetic, but function gain. Right eye is 60-70% of vision, left eye 30-40%, left eye droop more pronounced & obstructed, but didn't matter due to vision so weak in left eye. So, had both eyelids levators 'shortened' to unblock vision by a surgeon 'specialist' as you are, south of Atlanta. Left eye came out fine, right eye came our WORSE. Has been 17 days since procedure. Entire game was to correct vertical double vision because of ptosis causing wrinkle in cornea, causing vertical double vision., causing loss of detail in all times. Now worse as max lift of right eyelid is LOWER than before surgery. This has been an emotional disaster. This can be "revised" or corrected? Probably result in inability to close eyelid, right?
I just had a eyelid surgery in Turkey. Since the value of the Turkish lira is low, it came very cheap and at the same time it is very high quality. There are clinics that I would recommend to anyone who wants itI just had a hair transplant in Turkey. For medical reasons I'm supposed to have an upper blepharoplasty. The skin on my eyes has grown over my eyelashes and it makes me blink a lot. I'm scared to get this surgery so I probably won't do it.
I’m 55 and I am also supposed to get a medical blepharoplasty, which I have been putting it off for years. For me the procedure is free but still probably wont do it. I have never had a stitch in my life and don’t want any.
I'm saving to get this done. The clinic I think I'm going to go to through recommendations is on zoom at 1st...then you have consultation in person with surgeon on day of operation... Is this a bad idea..what I mean , is it a bad idea only to meet surgeon on operation day??..🤔
Always a better idea to do an in-person consultation. An initial zoom consultation is okay and I do them all the time. But I always want to see patients in person before surgery.
@@drkopelman Thank you Dr. If I lived closer I would definitely want you to do my surgery, but I'm in Scotland 🏴 Thank you again for your Dr for your nice & honest reply. 🥰
Also dr. Kopelman, for anyone who wants to get their eyelid and nose done. Which part they should get it done first? Does it make it difference? Many thanks ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
If you are doing a "nose job" and your eyelids on the same day then you should have your eyelid surgery first because a rhinoplasty will cause swelling which will interfere with the surgeons judgment regarding your eyelids but if done on separate days it does not matter
I got this surgery 2 weeks ago As i had an issue with eye irritation and i was not expecting the The incredible cosmetic results I swear i look 10 years younge r
Beautiful girl. She did not have to do anything. Her appearance was more youthful before surgery though. I think eyelid surgery really helps those who have excess of skin for older people but for young individuals It takes away from their unique/natural beauty.
Hi Dr. Kopelman! Thank you for the amazing explanation of this video!! May I plz ask if this eye surgery she did it will last forever? Many thanks!! 😇🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Doctor, my right eye is slightly droopy which is pretty unnoticeable at first glance in regular communication with ppl but in pictures it’s somewhat obvious to me that my right eyelid is a bit droopy. Should I go for surgery in this regard? 😣
Hi Dr. Kopleman, I’m Karla, 62 and all of a sudden ( approx. one wk ago) I woke up to my right eyelid fallen causing some distortion of my vision. I was shocked. I do have hooded eyes and have been using Dr. Dennis Gross triple retinol eye gel Tx. Pounder and on my eyelids for 2 yrs. Not every night. But like this am, I woke up and felt heaviness on my Rt eye causing my vision to be lessened. I do sleep on my Rt side mostly, but what on earth has caused this? I also use Tretinoin and great skincare. But why has this happened like overnight? I do have chronic dry eye syndrome ( rx’d Restasis) and have had bi lat. cataract surgery in 2015. Help if you will. Thank you so much. Iam so glad that your video popped up for the first time on my u tube feed.
Dr. Kopel, I am thinking of doing my eyes upper and lower, what do you think about melting sticking instead of the conventional stiches and what would you say it would cost me to have this procedure done. Also do you do lower jaws and neck surgery. Looking forward to hear from you. Thank you 😊
I prefer to utilize sutures that have to be removed because they leave fewer telltale signs of surgery.I perform facelifts ,neck lifts, and eyelid surgery
Hi Dr lkopelman ! I am 47 years and my under eyelid are very very baggy, I will like to have a consultation with you if it is possible so we will decide what can be done. I really need to do something about it please . Thanks
Thanks Dr. Please comment re this. If both eyelids need to me operated upon and further both bottom ones also need the procedure, is it all done on the same time? Or is each eye treated on different days? And are too and bottom operations performed at the same time? Thank you very much sir.
Dr. Kopelman - I live in NYC can you recommend a very good surgeon (as good as you seem to be) I would apprciate it. I need the upper eyes done. thank you!
Doctor I have lacrimal gland prolapse on both eyes and went to 2 doctors they all told me it’s only solved by surgery which is similar to blepharoplasty can I have your knowledge if there are any other treatments rather than surgery? As it’s getting worse by time and causing pressure and headaches 😢 thank you for your informative videos ♥️
Dr Joel, I had Botox injections a couple of weeks ago (not my first time having it done & same Dr each time) but this time I have a terrible droopy eyelid on one side. During the injection I could hear some popping sounds, and am assuming it was perhaps from the injection going into the muscle too close to my brow. I'll take the blame as I said nothing while receiving the injection on that side. I phoned my Fr who had me come in & tried and injection much higher up in hopes for an "antagonist" ? Reaction. But it didn't work. Now as I said, my right eyelid looks like I've had a stroke. Will this likely wear off? My concern is this may precipitate an on going droopy eye since there is no muscle movement to help strengthen the muscle affected by the Botox. PLEASE ADVISE me! Besides looking really creepy
I’ve been getting Botox for many years. One time I ended up getting one droopy eyelid. It eventually went back to normal after a couple months. I think you need to wait until it wears off. It seems to take a long time , but botox is temporary…luckily.
Hi doc! As an asian woman, should I get the surgery with a western doctor or It would be better in another asian country like South Korea? Im living in spain and Asia is too far.
Great question. I don't think it matters what the ethnicity of the doctor is, what matters is do they have experience with asian eyes, do they have a lot of before and afters you can look at, and do you feel comfortable and feel like there is a great line of communication between you and the doctor. Someone who is an oculoplastic surgeon is ideally who you should seek that has experience with asian eyes. Hope this helps.
Generally; I'm not fit to working these laborous professions, Not a single day even I wish and I still inactive to be grounded as unemployed not even to try the labor at once I've just simply conforming my unemployed habits with doing light work t be active even limited time, keeping sunlight, keeping comfortable with my qualified motions even notions out from the toxic I am comfortable to think working the things with refinements rather than the bioemetric or biostatistic working interest but only the things with enough qualified engineering capability were still under my laborous notions
What sort of experience have you had doing bleph on Asian eyes? What are the key differences? Please provide an estimate of cost for the upper-lower bleph procedures.
I have been performing asian eyelid surgery for 35+ years. You really should seek out an oculoplastic surgeon to perform asian eyelid surgery because not every plastic surgeon has the experience to do this procedure.
I think this lady looked so much better before. I actually love that hooded eye look and with eye liner and some false lashes, it looks so sexy. Obviously this lady is still beautiful but she looks like a completely different person. Thank you for this video, and the one on Lorry Hill, so informative.
An upper blepharoplasty will have no impact at all on your vision. I am not sure what would be causing double vision 2 weeks after your case unless it’s from eye drops causing your vision to be blurry.
I tell patients you need about 5 days to recover before I recommend returning back to work because you will have healed nicely. With that said you could still work remotely starting the next day after surgery.
Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic eyelid procedure so it rarely is covered by insurance. Whereas ptosis is a medical eyelid issue that can be covered by insurance.
I need that surgery too my hooded eyes gose to bad(heavy) to the eyes looks like I'm sleepy...I'm interested about what u inject to prevent scars, steroid or 5 fu means five uro uracil, put warm compress to under the eyes, prevent swelling, steroid 5
I had an operation of my upper lids 7 days ago and I feel my legs are heavy and my feet are swollen a little bit after my surgery. Is this normall?Should I worry about that?
I don't know if you had any pre-exiting cardiac problems. The anesthesia and surgery should not result in prolonged peripheral swelling. If it persists iI would consult your internist or cardiologist.
Hello doctor Kopelman. My left eyelid has developed a mild droop as a result from being prescribed eye drops for open angle glaucoma. This has happened very gradually, and now i'm very unhappy about my appearance. The drops not only have made my eyelid droop, but have eaten away the fat that was making my eye have a normal aging sagging, which my right eye has. Can the operation still be done, considering i have open angle glaucoma and that i would still need to use the eyedrops for life ? Also, if the operation was a success, i would still have different eyes, because my right eye would be as before - with sagging, and the operated one wouldn't - what to do ? Thanks.
You may ask your glaucoma specialist if they could switch your medication. If you stop prostaglandin inhibitors your orbital fat may ?return. If switching to another medication is possible then you may be a candidate for surgery
Occasionally you might need another injection to help breakdown the scar tissue. But you won't need to get injections forever for the scar breakdown. Hope that helps.
Yes if too much central fat is removed in the upper eyelid then an A frame deformity can occur. Therefore conservative fat sculpting of the upper eyelid fat is essential. Some people have this problem even before surgery
Blepharoplasty shoul be performed ONLY by an Ophthalmologist with a Fellowship in Ophtlalmic Plastic (Oculoplastic) Surgery. Entrust your eyelids in the hands of someone who knows the most about eyes: an Ophthalmologist supra-specialist in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery
I like to agree that oculoplastic surgeons are the best experts in blepharoplasty and eyelid cosmetic surgery cases. But I will also say that if the surgeon has a background as an ENT, dermatologist or plastic surgeon and has done many cases they too can get great results.
I got mine done recently, and noticed 4 days later that my crease has developed below the suture line. is that normal? I thought the crease would be where the sutures are so they would be higher and hidden
