Recon is great I have made and tried a lot of Mat sluices and this is the easiest ever as long as you get the flow right which is pretty easy. The other day I had an idea to maybe classify the material a little smaller since I have flour gold were I am, so I called and Talked to Dennis then I got a follow up call BACK from the creator of the sluice and we had a good discussion about water flow restriction if I put a cover over the classifier that is built in. Water over flow may be restricted to the point that gold may blow out its a very important balance of Top flow and side flow for the Fluid Field to work properly! I would recommend this sluice to New and Pro's The Stand makes adjustments to water depth very easy! The Company is by far the most personal I have ever talked to!
Nice video, I just purchased a Recon should be here shortly. Can't wait to test at Cache Creek CO! I was checking out the stand might be nice to have as well but the stand costs more than the sluice?! (When u factor in shipping) No stand for me I'll make it work without...
but the staggered pattern is supposed to be the reason to prevent that... hence why theres a hole punched between the other holes in a pattern above the next, so on so forth...
I like my expedition sluice. Please design a highbanker design with 12 v pump for recirculating. A hole new system! (Not an add on , to the sluices you already build) as there would be to much leaking.
I'll be up north this Friday it's too late for you to send me one by mail are you located up north to where I could pick one up from you thanks for your time
I like the sluice it seems lightweight small and very easy to use I recommend it to a friend he will buy it today or tomorrow but we noticed in your videos that you do not have a tub underneath the out flow to pan the tailings to see if anything was missed although you state with certainty in the video it gets all the gold how do you know? The test is inconclusive but your statements are posed in the absolute I'm getting one of these things anyway but do a better job on the testing please
Jan - When I finalized the original Recon and Expedition models I tested them with weighed measures of gold ran in one of three 5 gallon buckets. I would run the first bucket that had no gold, but contained stream materials and a good amount of black sand. Then I ran the next bucket that also contained stream materials, a good amount of black sand and the weighed gold. Finally I slammed the final bucket that also contained stream materials and a good measure of black sand right on top of it to try and dislodge any "hanging" gold. I did this test dozens of times with different classifications, water speeds and sizes of gold. Results ranged from 88-94% in both units, with fast water and very small gold (100 minus) being the lowest recovery. You can easily capture down to 200 minus when run at the proper speed (1 sec/ft) and classified to 1/4"-1/2". In the videos I run a 2 gallon bucket in less than 30 secs in the Expedition and 45 secs in the Recon. You will see the results when your buddy runs his - You won't be disappointed!
I saw one of these in action supper simple good for kids! saw something like it once in a museum called a china sluice just a metal tapered pan with lip at the end no mats, it said they were often more sucsesfull than the other miners. My Channel Is Called Quest For Details , if you get a chance check it out! I Just sent you a sub. keep filming!
