@@0joshdude these are different than AFOs in that they don’t support the ankle as much as the AFO does, they support the foot more itself since that is the problem area.

I have been in them since I was 3. I'm 22 now. It's a struggle (especially in the heat!) but it's made it a lot easier to walk. It sucks, but it helps! You got this little man!

Have u looked into to it to see if u can get SMO’s NOW?? Maybe u can! I would call them up and see if they have them in your size!! If u are on Medicaid or whatever the state u live in, calls “free medical”, u can probably get the shoes paid for by them. CHECK INTO IT!!

I’m a toe walk I have rare muscle disease they said I would stop walking at 10 but they were wrong i am able to walk much after 10 I’m so happy my mom is the best always making my life easy but also challenges me I’m vary grateful

I know it’s not really related but I have adhd and mild autism and I absolutely love my sensory body sock. I got mine On Amazon by special supplies and I live in it. They are only like $20 and I 100% recommend getting one

I was an extreme toe walker. From my first steps til I was 19 or so. I didn’t realize I’d walk like that. I was doing a lot of walking and made a conscious effort to walk “heal toe”. I almost always walk heal toe now.

my cousin (12) also has always done that but he refused to wear his things like that, which lead him to surgery, so it’s really great he was excited about the pattern because that means he’s not too terribly opposed to wearing them

Here in sweden growing up. We donnt get em for autism. Im lycka having a dad as shuemaker. He bouild up the shues for me, i grow fast so 2-4 a year. Funny as autistic kid i wanted same shues. Or loked same for 6 years. Dad learned by him self to do em after been with me to the orthopedrican. I have 2 direkt zise on my feet... so they did not had any for me

My sister doesn’t need a brace for toe walking but she does need a brace for her back because she has scoliosis and has had it for 2-3 years now I think Even though she doesn’t like it because it’s uncomfortable it’s great to be Abel to have one because I have a friend with scoliosis who her mom doesn’t think a brace is necessary but because of that her spine is sticking out and will bleed if to much pressure/force is put on it so even though my sister doesn’t like it i very happy she is able to wear one because other wise it would be much harder to walk and induce pain

Ah yes this reminds me of the fastest boy on the track team my senior year of high school. Ran a 10.4 houndred meter or something like that. Was constatnly getting side eye for it mind you no one made fun of him for it just people notice inconsistencys.

Technology has come along way for orthopedics for correcting foot problems. My husband and sister in law are toe walkers, both in their 60’s. (Family thing). Their mother was told helps build aches by their Dr. My youngest is a toe walker in her 40’s nothing was done but her daughter (3) was put into those shoes. (Toe walker). I noticed this child - he has the ankle that turns in also. My ankles turn in, I ended in real ankle casts as a child, but that never helped ( back in 50’s ) so a little more dink toe and flat foot. I wish I had better care. Dealt with sprains, broken ankle, and foot and leg.
