Yes it happened to me again, I got hurt in Thailand. Getting hurt in Thailand definitely sucks, but life goes on. Today we go on a walk through Bangkok as I explain what happened to me and why I haven't been making many videos lately. Join me for a walk through the On Nut and Phra Khanong neighborhoods as we explore these neighborhoods and of course, get lost. I will show you a delicious breakfast cafe, a new sports complex, yet another Temple, and an alley way that I find to be very vibrant. I even had an amazing chance encounter with a married couple that were my subscribers. What the husband told me about how much he loved and appreciated my content really touched me. I am so thankful and grateful to be able to be a part of people's lives. Getting hurt here in Bangkok, Thailand was not fun, but stuff happens. I am so happy to be back out making videos for you guys!

Hi Serg, walking is the best form of exercise for you right now. No running, no skating, no sports, no sitting down for too long. If you need to sit, sit upright on chair but don't sit on sofa or bed. Wishing you a speedy recovery! 💖

The Princess Cafe and pancakes sounds amazing! Oh man, so sorry about your fall. I took a fall like that at a temple because it was ultra-slippery and I broke a Sony Lens and damaged my gimbal. My last house had those polished stairs and wearing socks was like ice skating. I hope you feel better soon. This was a great video and I so want those pancakes!!!

I had something similar happen to me when visiting the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. To get into the Sanctuary of Truth you have to go down a staircase that bends 90 degrees just before the bottom. I was walking down the stairs on the right hand side using the right side hand rail. When I got to the bend in the stairs I missed a step and started sliding down the rest of the steps. I tried to hold myself up and stop the slide by using the hand rail but in doing so I dislocated my right shoulder :( So there is me, in the middle of a crowd sliding down some stairs with my dislocated arm trailing behind me. It made the rest of my holiday a little harder but a few Leo's helped a bit ;)

Sorry to learn of your fall Serg, walking is a good exercise as the muscles get massaged naturally, can recommend ground black pepper and tumeric as a natural anti inflammatory (I take mine in a shout of orange juice!) Good to see you back on your feet anyway, you’re a good man Serg, good attitude

@@LifewithSerg I run regularly and have an issue with one knee, I used to buy tumeric and black pepper capsules but it’s cheaper to just by then from the supermarket pre ground up, use enough OJ to mask the tumeric taste and you also get Vit c win/win really works for me🙏🏻👍🏼

So sorry to hear your bum got hurt. Butt look at the bright side (pun intended), all the walking will help you to discover all the smaller sections of the city and how they differ. Keep walking and keep healing, it took me a very long time to recover from the same type of injury.

Howdy from Austin, Texas, Serg. I hope you recover soon from your injury and can provide us with some more long motorbike excursions. I have been binge watching your videos. Loved your moving trip video from Cali to Austin and your trip to the New Braunfels Buccee’s a few months back when you returned to visit your family. I have been watching your and other ex pat’s Thailand videos over the past year in preparation for a bucket list 30 to 90 day trip to Thailand. Your off the beaten path videos are very interesting. As a 74 year old gent with pre existing life threatening health issues, obtaining hospitalization insurance is the only thing that might limit my dream trip. Saftety Wing appears to have age limits that might exclude me. I have found some rather expensive travel hospitalization insurance ($400/month of travel) that will cover me with a $1 million dollar policy limit, should I have a stroke or heart related incident. It is interesting to note that the TOTAL cost for a major medical incident in Thailand that requires hospitalization is nearly the same as the 20% copay required in addition to what Medicare pays for hospitals here in the US… so really rather inexpensive if you have to pay cash.

This video makes me feel a lot better about myself due to the fact that on New Year's Eve I was in Hua Hin and tripped and fell down and broke my shoulder in four spots I am now going through rehab and this May take up to 9 months to get back to normal. So to quote Bill Clinton"I feel your pain".

I’ve been putting ice on it from time to time. Not really sure what else I can do at this point. I have a follow up with my doctor later this week. So I will get some other suggestions.

Serg - try The Woodland for coffee while in On Nut. It's off Soi 52 opposite the Tesco parking entrance. Nice Garden...really good atmosphere. Easy to miss, it's behind a big breeze block wall but opens into a beautiful tree covered area.

haha had a similar accident at the gym. was doing face pulls and the cable dislodged and I fell on my ass. yeah still kind of hurts but it is slowly getting better :D get well soon Serg :)

Ha ha. Yes I have seen those skeletons at a number of Thai temples. I think it’s a collection point for find to help bury those that cannot afford it. Odd way of displaying it, but this is Thailand. Lol

Sorry to hear that you got hurt. The good thing is your head did not hit anything. We are aging Serg. We have to be more careful doing things. I am turning 58 years old this year, too. If I had continued working for the PD, I would have retired by now, like you. Unfortunately, I will have to work for another 9-10 years. I can't wait to retire in Thailand.

I had the same thing happened to me. I found a laser pain relief center that was affiliated with a chiropractor office here in the states. The laser treatments 10 of them and all really did the job. It definitely took away the sharp pains, the stabbing pains. I feel so much better.

I was waiting to see you cross soi 71. Saeng Thip alley is better known as Pridi soi 2. My wife lives just off it and i spent the whole pandemic there. Having to cross soi 71 every time i went out was a big down side.

The medical care here has been much better than in the US, so far. The courtesy, speed and prices are so much better than it was in the US. If you have good, private insurance, or you can afford to pay your own bills at the private hospitals here, it’s definitely the best medical care I have personally experienced.

Ohh no...Serg's injury is due to a nasty fall... just be careful in the future....the cafe st Soi 81 will be on my radar ....normally such injury will take 3-6 months to recover fully....take it easy Serg...thanks Serg for sharing this vblog with us 🎉😂😮

I had the same type of injury slipping down 4 icy steps 3 years ago. My whole entire low back was bruised as well as my a$$. It hurt so bad I was crying. 😭 I went to the doctor the next day and had multiple back X-rays done. They said it was just a bad soft tissue injury to my coccyx. Took a good month before it stopped hurting. To this day I still get small pocket of swelling at the base of spine/top of my butt on occasion. TMI 😂 but it definitely is probably a permanent side effect from that bad fall.

Damn man I’m sorry to hear that. I never had any discoloration of visible bruise in. It’s now two months later, and it still bothers me from time to time. I think it’s gonna take several more months before it’s back to normal.

I often go to Soi Saeng Thip. When I go there, I like to eat at Habito. The second floor has a very delicious homemade pizza called Mont Calzone.🍕It's nice to see the atmosphere in this area. Hope you get well soon Serg. 💪🏋‍♀

I did the SAME THING backto my tailbone in 2000. Yeah, it hurts for a LONG time. I think there were pains off and on for over a year, probably two!

@@LifewithSerg I am soooo sorry! It's just that the tailbone is an area that heals when it WANTS to heal. We can't put a cast or splint on it hahaha and there is no Physical Therapy to do to speed the healing along (imagine how THAT would look!) I injured mine by sliding down a snowy slide one cold morning with my kids, back when my kids were very young. Had no clue that snow would make a normal slide turn supersonic! Flew off that thing and landed smack on my butt. It didn't hurt permanently, just kind of off and on. Looking back on it, I still had a pain even three years later, once in a while. Be strong!

One of my biggest fears in Thailand was getting injured. I'm sixty-nine and have had balance problems my entire life. My first trip to Pattaya I slipped getting off a Baht Bus and almost broke my arm. The sidewalks and motorbikes are hazardous to pedestrians. But, I really liked Thailand. This past Oct/Nov my wife and I spent a week in Bangkok, a week in Chiang Mai, a week in Hua Hin, and then the last week we stayed at the Ideo at On Nut. We thought of retiring there, but it may end up being the Philippines. Not as fascinating as Thailand, but only a few hours away. I get almost free health care thru the VA, but only here in the US. I have a Medicare supplement that covers me for emergencies overseas. So I would have to fly back to the US two to three times a year for various treatments.
