Everything should listen to Thorns. The man guy in that band is Snorre Ruch and he is credited as having made the typical Norwegian black metal riff, along with Euronymous from Mayhem.
@johngavin1175
@johngavin1175 Год назад
It's a shame he hasn't done more,as far as releases. The self titled was a riff fest. Just wish there was more bass.

* adds random Euronymous from Mayhem add on. I mean you can add anyone who was prominent in the 2nd wave to be fair.

I second this! Ceremony of Opposites is a great album, I really was unaware of the fact that it is heavily ignored within the scene. People are missing out at their own peril!

My impression was that Ceremony and Passage are classics and everyone know them hahah Baphomet's Throne is played on every Samael concert.
@LesnoiVladiko
@LesnoiVladiko Год назад
@@rothbardfreedom Yup. I have no idea how someone with even a marginal interest in BM could possibly be unaware of Ceremony of Opposites. Aborym is a much more obscure band although they were talked of back in the day, mainly due to Attila's presence.

Some other bands you should consider if you're into industrial black metal: P.H.O.B.O.S. (industrial blackened doom) Phobonoid (industrial black/doom) Taken by Wolves (industrial black) Mysticum (Black metal with industrial influences) Woest (Black metal with industrial influences) Decoherence (atmospheric industrial black metal) Myrkskog (Black/death metal with industrial influences) DSKNT (blackened death metal) Disconect (blackened death doom metal, especially their swansong album) Some tracks from prolific industrial metal band Red Harvest have a black metal influence like Last Call and Fix hammer fix

Since you're on an industrial kick, I'll recommend a criminally underrated Prong album, Rude Awakening, if you've never heard it. They incorporated industrial into their sound so well, but only for one album. The album got shit on when it came out which I will never understand, it's a classic to me.
@johngavin1175

An industrial BM EP from a band I had never heard of came up on my youtube recently, Fenris by The Helheim Society from 1996. Don’t know if you’ve heard of them, from what I could find it seemed like an extremely under the radar band, but the material was very strong. Highly recommended if you haven’t heard it.

one newer project to check out is "lykotonon", from no other than people from blood incantation and wayfarer. really a strange mix of heavy influences of black metal, edm and industrial, but it just scratches some specific, weird itch in my brain. the mix is also great on the debut so it is an easy listen sound quality wise. can do nothing but recommend giving it a try.

Mussorgski - in harmony with the universe is an incredibly weird industrial BM album, 90s polish stuff. Some of the songs are great and others are shit but it's definitely worth listening to. I also always got a nice industrial vibe from the 3 drum machine mutiilation albums, not so much because they have any electronics but more so that cold, metallic, mechanical vibe that early nathrakh does too
