This is quite old recommendation by now but most nowadays recommend at least Emeck/mg100/etha2 (gamma core engines) that can squeeze thru tournament grade paint without a problem even at freezing degrees. Rental fields are in the process of replacing their 98 engines with gamma core engines. The hair trigger upgrade for mech equals electric ramping speeds. TCM or Stomrers are cheaper alternatives but way louder and suits one timers who will sell the gear within next couple of years. KP3 without the auto trigger frame is surprisingly good but has hard time to compete against meck and e-players.
My first gun was a gift, a brass eagle eradicator. After 1 outing I upgraded to HPA and modified the feed neck and my bolt so it would not chop the paint as much. You could say I made the Planet eclipse Cure bolt before they did it themselves. Then after doing well that fall in school my father got me a 98 custom for xmas. After which I worked for 2 summers and then in 2006 I bought my own gun myself. My 05 Karnivor. Took a break for awhile when I left home for college, came back and got a proto rail, sold it and stopped playing during the recession and my job/career changes and other things going on. Now that I'm settled I bought myself a used setup to get back into the game. Planet Eclipse Ego 8... Love it, but I am definitely scooping up an old Karni. There's nothing quite like an auto cocker.
a general rule when buying your first tank: get a 68 ci tank and if you think you need to downsize or upsize, get that smaller or bigger tank if you absolutely need to
I want to thank you because of you I now know how to start paintball and the advice you gave help me a lot when I started playing and I now know about paintball also out if all people on RU-vid that showed every one how to start playing paintball you were the best and I just want to thank you so much. I wish I could sub to you a million times. Thanks for everything
Wow thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliment and hope you come to love the sport as much as I do. If there are any videos you want to see done in the future just lmk!
I see that you are an airsoft/paintball channel so I have a question for you... I want to get into paintball and have airsofting for 5 years. I have worked my way up the brands from Echo 1 to KWA then VFC and finally PolarStar however I don't want to go through this process for paintball. Would a planet eclipse ego 11 be a good gun for me?
+Nick Miller depends on a few things, but Ego 11 is considered a high end marker even though it is a little outdated. If you play speedball it will be ok, if bushball...it depends on the crowd you play with. Also you have to use HPA, Co2 will screw up the electronics and solenoid. You might also invest into an electronic loader capable of feeding the rate you are shooting. You can go cheap with Halo right through to a rotor, spire or prophecy. Your budget as mentioned in the video is going to be the determining factor.
I learned a lesson, you know when you buy something you immediately use it? Well I bought a mask and then I went to a bank, didnt know why I went to jail until I went court
Should I get a big gun, (guns that look like m16's etc) OR smaller guns like you have on your shelf? I know it is a stupid question but I am just getting into paintball and still am a noob when it comes to the guns. Whats the honest difference between the small guns and the bigger guns and which do you prefer or anyone else in the comments.
JbowenDaMan its totally your prefrence getting a "bigger gun" would be good if you like to sit back snipe people its also good for woodsy type fields. the "smaller guns" are good on the run fast pace type of gameplay if you like to get in the front lines a and shoot really fast id suggest the small guns. BTW usually the small guns are electronic
JbowenDaMan the smaller gums are more for "speedball" tournaments. But if you're going outside or places in the woods and stuff like that, "woodsball" get a bigger one, one that is just overall better for outdoor use
7.62x39 I also have one, not a single ball has broken in the barrel since I bought it. Always shoots pretty accurately, easy cleaning. Just perfect for starters
Never ever go with a spyder. Literal pieces of shit. My victor broke on me first day, decided to give it a chance so i fixed it, broke again, and again, and again.
+Festive Chip Don't get the E1! Get a 2011 Proto Rail ($250). Do your research on the different guns in the price range and come up with your opinion. It's well worth it. www.ansgear.com/Proto_Rail_2011_PMR_Paintball_Gun_Dust_Black_p/protorail2011black.htm
I am a beginner have never ever done paintball but i want to buy a gun but i live in the netherlands is is not. A sport in out country off anything like iTS just a hobby but i want to buy a paintball gun so in can play and like a tank a hopper and a mask can Someone plzz give advize
+Kr4ZyN1GG4Ki115 If your just starting out into paintball and thinking of spending $1000 you need to step back and think about it. What if you decide paintball isn't your thing or it's too expensive or if you don't have enough time. If you're 14 and only 3 months into paintball just get a 2011 proto rail, a Empire Halo Too loader and a 48 CI / 3000 psi steel tank. If you think about it, most of the players your going to be against are using Tippmann 98's as long as you're playing rec ball. And paintball doesn't mainly rely on the gear. Sure it relies a lot on the gear but most of it is skill and experience. If you are playing against someone with a 2011 Proto Rail that practices every weekend and has been playing for a long while then they are going to be able to destroy you when you have a Shocker or Luxe or Vanquish. Maybe three or four years into paintball you can drop a couple thousand bucks on fancy gear but just starting out. Nope! anyways that's just my two cents on that. Do whatever you want with your money but I just wanted to let you know my opinion on that.
Just to preface this, I only own an Etek 5. All statements I make about other guns are those that have been stated to me by the owners of those guns and from simple research. Good Starters: Tippmann 98, Gtek, Etek5 (Etek4 is a damn cannon), Empire Axe (buy it used from someone on a facebook b/s/t; cheaper than msrp and you might be lucky to get a redline board with it), Empire Mini GS (basically a smaller version of an Axe), Proto Maxxed Rize, and a used Shocker RSX (you can get one used for about the same price as an Etek and Gtek; comes with a better board and a freak ready barrel) Bad Starters: Spyders (true Wal-Mart crap), and Luxe (depending on where you live, they can be a bit picky to maintain)
so Ive been playing paintball for the past 2 months around twice a week everytime an hour, its not speed ball its a proper field with obstacles, can anyone advise me guns? I see 2 main types, one is the short ones often seen in speedball and the other are guns like the tipmann cronus, where I live (United Arab Emirates) theres not a lot of places to play and the fields are all within 100x100 metres, any guns anyone can advise me on where to get started? Money isnt the biggest issue for the gun and another question is barrels and scopes etc.? or maybe someone has a link to a forum, Im kinda new but its taking up most of my free time and I think it will for quite a while more, thanks in advance
Devin Bartlebaugh What happened? I used a crusty rental and it worked perfectly, shot decently accurately, no breaks. 98cs are known for basically always working well
Samatosh I went to my local field and went over to the range and shot around 30 shots and a heard a loud Crack and when I took it to the repairman he told me just to throw it away and buy a new one
+Elliott Rudder As mentioned in the video, you have to be sure you want to play pump before investing in them. I for one love playing pump, but I know a lot of people doesn't.
He uses a shake n shoot hopper, horrible tank and a horrible gun and he is trying to teach people what gun to buy first. (FACE PALMING SO FRICKIN HARD)
It's his opinion, just cause you spent $1,000 on a gun doesn't mean beginners are going to spend $1,000 in a gun as well. Everyone has their own style of play.
+Lachlan Callaghan I never have spent $1,000 on a gun. Instead of buying a cheap piece of s*** gun that your going to get rid of and buy a better gun save up and buy a 2011 proto rail for $250. That will be cheaper in the long run because you won't want to replace it because it sucks a**. Just because your a beginner doesn't mean you have to buy a JT splatmaster. Mow a few more lawns and scoops some more dog shit and get a better gun. Its WELL worth it!
Well I'm looking for a new marker for speedball. I play every weekend and some times go to events. Thank you not many people on the Internet would help others like you😀
