Jet drives are nowhere near as efficient as a prop, so no. Two boats of the same size, weight and HP, the prop boat will be faster. I had a jet boat and loved it, then I got a surface drive prop boat and forgot about the jet, lol.

They don’t have a typical transmission that can shift into gear while the engine is running. They use what’s called a “crash box” type trans that is way more reliable but can only shift into gear with engine off.

It’s just what some of them do with their wealth that sometimes gets me feeling stroppy. How decent of those owners to let the plebs they so generously employ watch from a distance. While they go out in their monster and do what….? Just scream along at super high speed in straight lines, while having their backs and knees stressed on a medium that is virtually concrete.
