How come nobody tells you all these before prescribing. One should be given all this information, sent to go back home and think about it and come for medication after two days when they are really sure.
Thank you. But reality is much more dark: Akathisia, tardive dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, anhedonia.. For 22 years Ive been taking Ssri and Clonazepam for anxiety and being obedient patient, trusting my psichiatrist. But coming of Clonazepam and getting to know what anhedonia is, made me question everything. Also seeing suffering of people in Antipsychiatry subreddit. That suffering could have been avoided. And nobody is doing anything to help those poor people.
13 years on zoloft. Stuck extremely numb and hard to quit. Tapered too fast at the end and knocked out with WD 3 mounths off. Cognitive problems, electricity and pain in the brain and CNS. Feels like injury, dysfunctional.
What dose of Zoloft ? I’ve been taking 50 mg for about 15 years (and some intervals of 100 mg for some months then back to 50mg)… I did keto diet to try to come off of it , but after 3 months without it , I got relapse and now I am again on 50mg daily with destroyed fitness life , low energy , extra fat , and low sex drive and soft erections as well … I don’t know if i will ever be able to stop it 😢
I was on cymbalta for along time. I took a year, slowly tapering off by bead counting and still had an awful time for almost another year after I completely stopped. Although I had other withdrawal symptoms, the worst for me were the brain Zaps and Extreme Anxiety. I was bedridden and became agoraphobic, lost about 40 pounds and was certain I was going to die. When I was put on cymbalta it was through my GP and not my psychiatrist (it was before I started seeing my psychiatrist), I was not warned about the side effects of the drug or how hard it was to come off of it. I ended up get on a low dose of lexapro because I couldn’t handle it. It makes me sad and upset that I will potentially have to take psych meds for the rest of my life.
Peter. Im 6years off benzos. They have effectivly ruined my life. It took me 4 years to get better. At year 5. I had a massive setback (what the ashton manual states a return of symptoms due to sensitivity of a drug. That is NOT a benzo). My case was antibiotics. Not a fluroquinolone. 6 years off and now dealing with akathesia . Panic. Terror. Swaying. Restlessness. 3am cortisol rushes. Its been 9 months since my setback. Its horrible to read on benzobuddies that some people take a decade to feel normal again.
Wow. Thank you for sharing your experience. In the past I used Temazepam for sleep.; acupuncture, qi gong, and tai chi helped me to sleep well without medication. I hope things improve for you soon. Peter Goertz
@goertzpsychiatry9340 do you really care though? Do you care that your profession has ruined and even ended so many lives? Serious question. I don't know how you can stay in that profession knowing the hell and suffering they have caused so many.
Psych drugs ruined my life and gave me diagnosed cortico-subcortical brain atrophy. Even the neurologist admitted that the brain atrophy was due to the drugs, but they take any accountability or tried to help me with it. The neurologist told me "well, yeah, but we gotta treat these illnesses, you know?" and sent me home saying "eat healthy, exercise and study". My gaslighty family was happy with the doctor. My diagnosis was based on the idea that I was lying when I said that I was being abused by my family, but I was being abused by my family for real. My family and the doctors convinced each other that I was just crazy, so they gave me those drugs to make me stop complaining about the abuse. When my two brothers accompanied me to the psych appointment and basically testified for me, saying that no, I wasn't crazy and they were both going to therapy due to the horrible abuse from our parents, the psych replied "well, I don't have to write any of this, you know?". I was a kid when they started giving me those drugs and they made me lose my consciousness for 8 years. My dog died, my grandparents died, they gave me life-threatening and disabling physical symptoms and refused to treat them for years, gaslighting me about it. They denied, downplayed and victim-blamed everything. They still act like they are the victims because I dared complain about the abuse, making them look bad.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar and I have been on lithium for about 11 years. For nearly 10 years I haven’t had any significant episodes (I have had minor ups and downs, but nothing serious. Sub clinical episodes? Maybe?). Before that I had very severe symptoms and was involuntarily hospitalized four times. I don’t plan on stopping my medication anytime soon. However, an unrelated illness is giving me a lot of nausea and about an 30-60 minutes after taking my lithium I would throw up. I thought that was long enough to absorb, but I have a feeling that my levels are low. I can feel the depressive feelings sneaking in, that crushing, oppressive weight on my mind more and more. I got my levels checked already, I am just waiting for the results. It sucks, I can feel it looming and I know there’s nothing I can do. When I was younger I tried so many medications and in different combinations and nothing made much of a difference. I can’t see why anyone would want to go through that again by choice.
I was on SSRIs for 22 years from 17-39. I tapered off of Lexapro 20mgs for 6 months. I didn't know at the time that this was a slow taper. I've been addicted to heroin(2 yrs)methadone(9 yrs), benzos(3 yrs), nicotine(15 yrs, cannabis(17 yrs) and alcohol (10 yrs). None of them compare to the withdrawal and protracted withdrawal from SSRIs.
My brain generates random images like a broken tv after coming off psy drug after short term use of ssri, benzo, z drug and Pregabalin . What can I do now? It's been 18 months and AP doesn't work to remove the non stop images
Hello, thank you for the kind information sir. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar with psychotic symptoms and taking currently: Abilify maintena 400 syringe once a month and halidol 5mg a day for the antipsychotic meds. i am looking to get off the halidol completly because of the side effects. Do you recommend lowering the dose to 2.5 mg a day for a month or two and then lowering to 1.5 for a month or two and than completly off? Do you think the abilify maintena 400 can keep me safe from psychosis instead of combining it with halidol daily? Your'e opinion is kindly appreciated thanks!
I tried coming off anti psy medication 4 times. And 4 times I ended up in hospital. The funny thing is I still want to try and get off. But have no answers.....
Hello Doc ! Do you think it’s possible to come off Zoloft after 15 years , with unsuccessful efforts before ? No doctor here in Greece is able to answer me this … 😢
It may be possible, however every person is different. If someone wants to come off Zoloft after 15 years, it seems wise to work closely with a psychiatrist. Peter Goertz
In general, sounds like you don't what the hell is going on. Psychiatry is guessing science, while administering horrible chemicals components that Psychiatrists don't understand
@@capresti3537 they prescribe it because they receive incentives from pharmaceutical companies, also the dangerous side effects that are minimized by pharmaceutical company. I have had a real demon on my chest due to the brain injury and it WAS a REAL demon. Pharmekia/pharmaceutical is sorcery, If this guy in the video actually knew what these drugs were about. He would leave the medical field and never look back, because I swear to God that demon wanted my soul and I just can’t see god letting these doctors in heaven and having a luxurious life on earth while there patients are begging and screaming for mercy on a bed disabled trying to not end there life.
I’m on Ablify 7.5mg I tried to taper off twice and psychotic type episodes insued, do you know of any holistic treatments that can help me taper off? I’ve been on meds for 11 years
In general various things can help with mental stability, e.g. psychotherapy, diet, exercise, adequate recreation, yoga, tai chi, meditation, acupuncture, etc.
I'm on olanzapine. How do you think i can come off of it. I have tampered it down but i am unable to quit. Can tampering cause any problem? I am also suffering from insomnia.
Disclaimer: not a doctor, not professional advice. Only personal experience Hi, I’ve been on olanzapine before and now off for a few months. I would recommend tapering very slowly. For like months to reduce side effects. I had terrible insomnia for about a week when I stopped olanzapine but I did it too quickly. So if you do it slowly enough, you should be ok
@@alicereeds5952how did u do it with a 2.5 mg tablet. U can't get smaller doses than that. Did u crush the tablets and measure their weight and then taper off slowly?
