Getting our Border Collie Puppy, Whiskey | DAILY VLOG 

You will love him. I have had 4 border collies in my life. Two males and two females. Can’t tell which is better. They do tale a lot of work and need a lot of of exercise and jobs to do. I didn’t even know that he was a breed. I fell in love with a dog where I kept my horse and told them if she ever has puppies I would be interested. Luckily I loved him even if he was more work than I ever thought. They are so smart one learned how yo open my car door. The two females used to bicker when I was fixing their food so I would put one in the garage while I fixed their food. When I rent to get her she was sitting in my car. My husband said you must of left the door opened. I knew I didn’t. Next day when I went yo get her the light was on in the car but the door was closed. After feeding them. I went back to the car and the handle was wet and full of teeth marks. Had to put her in another room while I fixed their food. One of the best thing I did was to take two of them to agility training. They loved it do much. I never did trials, just exercise for their bodies and minds. Enjoy yours, I think they are the best breed of dogs ever.

10 to 15 yrs? Border collies live much longer! Mine passed away when she was 21. And I've seen border collies in agility competitions as old as 12 yrs and I think even older than that. Anyway I wish your dog a long and happy life!

The one thing I'd be concerned about is the frayed edges on that rope toy. He could swallow them and they could created a blockage. I don't recommend those types of toys for that reason.

For a first dog or cat DO NOT GET A PUPPY OR KITTEN!!! They are a lot more work and not a working line!!! Get an adult much better intro to a pet then an untrained hyper mouthy puppy and DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE BREED BEST FOR YOUR LIFE STYLE! You will have to do agility or something with him. You picked a bad age and breed to be your first. The smarter they are the more work they are and more time and things they need to do.
