video suggestion: how to stay true to your style in a smart casual environment? Maybe theme it to retail, waitressing, the office, etc? Since I started working in a dress code environment I have felt quite nervous about my presentation as I throw things together I'm not used to - I've fallen into the trap of casual wear i.e. baggy jeans, short skirts, fish nets, tank tops, loose jackets. loved this video btw!

interesting-but-work-appropriate can be so difficult! i usually fall into just wearing a "sophisticated" interest top and dress pants, but i would love to see how much more varied and bold katie could go within those limitations.

The fact that you made the pants yourself really warms my heart. Most RU-vids would probaly just order some cheap copy from like aliexpress or shein which supports the fast fashion, as someone who also makes her clothes sustainably and a fashion student I was really excited to see that, hopefully more people will try doing the same with clothes and fabrics they already have :)

Yes please make an OC lookbook! I remember that I got so much style inspo from that show. I even sewed my own version of a cute tweed jacket with short puff sleeves that Marissa wore in one episode. Also during the same time, I made two balloon skirts because I was obsessed 😅 (similar to what you call a bubble hem) That velvet dress you thrifted looks sooo good - I love a hoodie dress! 😍

Omg my jaw droppeddd when you pulled out StyleSurfing🤯 I discovered it in a local library in my early tweens (late 2000's), loaned it multiple times and it might even been the first book I've ever read in english, the pictures just we're so coooool i read it many times when i couldn't even properly understand english. The library had also other books by Ted Polhemus and those + Fruits we're and still are like a bible to me🙏 thank you for reminding me of the book, i might even buy it for myself now as an adult. Also thanks for sharing you're inspirations, it's fun to see what inspires other people and not just the outfits they create. I always enjoy your videos and you have an amazing style💖

The year was 2010, I was 14. My mom took me shopping and I found the most AMAZING grey bubble hem DerekHeart dress at JCPenny. I wanted it so badly, but I knew it would be deemed too short by my mom because it was above my knees. I was unsuccessful in my pleading, and never got to live my bubble hem dreams. Thank you for reminding me about those. Love this style of video!

I'm so excited for your Gilmore Girls video! Your videos are always so honest, I found your videos when I began to get interested in style, and it helped me begin to figure out my favorite pieces and colors, and also to be more conscious of how much clothes I buy. And one character I didn't expect to influence my style is Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. Her style is super early 2000's, and she wears lots of cute casual fits and experiments w different hairstyles every episode. She's worth a Google! Love your videos, they always inspire me💗

Recently, on my I-wanna-dress-fun-today days I like to choose a certain piece & style it related to any media that I had consumed recently, in terms of decade or fashion style, it's a bit of a challenge sometimes but I find it really fun & help me express my inner world more authentically. And of course, dressing for your fav artists/idols bdays in their own style it's always a blast (been having a swell time with BTS's photopholio looks). About character inspo, I can recommend 2 chilean comic books: one is called "Julieta"(very girly emo/pre-TwilightCore, lots of red purple b&w) and the other is called "Pascualina" (planners & stationary with that character were big in the 2000s. Style wise, it's a very 2000's boho-prints on prints-saturated colors-autumn wear kinda vibe). That's it, hope it helps. As always, loved your videos

have you ever considered showing some late 2000s trends? i'd feel sad if the trends jumped straight from early/mid 00s to 2010s and skipped over the late 2000s lol. Late 00s/early 10s could kind of be its own thing though, i suppose. also i love the pinterest ideas you gave in this video!!
