I’ve found the best way to avoid falling into that toxic productivity is to stop writing to do lists. Instead I ask myself “what can I do that will make me proud of myself at the end of the day?” ☺️ I find I usually end up doing most of the self-care and other things I need to do but with less self-judgement and more kindness. Maybe there’s a prompt like that which works for you 😊

I’m seriously loving this 8 task to do list.. I don’t have people I can send it to right now so I’ll just start here :) 1. Wash my face & brush teeth 2. Tidy up my room 3. Study music notes for 30 minutes 4. Catch up with friend over tea 5. Write in journal 6. Play video games for a bit 7. Start rereading the great gatsby 8. Zoo with friends Here’s to healthy productivity 🥂✨

One thing that I always remember when my family says something I don't agree with, or judges me in a way I think it unfair is "You have your own key to your own door" which is something my mum says that just means: You drive your own life, you are independent and while their opinions and judgements mean a lot / pack a punch, your judgement and your choices are what should drive your life.

This is something I have started doing too. I often set out goals for the day. ( I'm attempting competitive exams) and sometimes I cannot complete them all and then when I head to sleep I cannot sleep because anxiety kicks in and then I stay up late and screw another day. If you're reading this just know at the end of day these are just goals, which you can complete tomorrow and that these are not your life. Your life is to be able to live a life peacefully and to be able to get a good amount of sleep.

I have same issue with my dad. It's gotten better because I stopped telling him about my life choices, so I just tell more easy and simple things. Not sure if this is the best way to go but it has worked for my sanity.

wonderful! i've been forgetting self care as I've sat at my desk for days trying to meet uni deadlines, i don't remember when i brushed my hair last lol but you've inspired me to add self care to my to do list daily and hopefully finally get washing done. I have wonderful parents but let their quiet disapproval influence me to stay in the wrong career for two decades. It’s a lose-lose because they can sense how unhappy I’ve been. While they wouldn’t have understood my choices had I pursued a career that I enjoyed/valued, they definitely would have sensed any resulting happiness. So, as a person with pre-OCD, I found it really helpful to timeblock my whole week (including rest periods!) with calculating how many hours exactly I spend on work/uni/myself. That way in any given moment I always know what to do and which pile of tasks tackle (I have separate todo lists for work, uni and home/me), and I also can tell that I've done enough working hours as I planned it to be so! I know it might seems to be extensive, but the knowledge that everything is already calculated and good is calming me down Also! Create a playlist only for work, so that it trigger focused state but also add some fun
