Most people don’t like 1st episodes but for season 4 I loved episode 1. Seeing Vecna slowly walk down the stairs and trap Chrissy was genuinely terrifying, and seeing him for the first time was so cool and scary.
SO good. That Chrissy and Eddie dynamic is amazing. Who doesn't like it is my question. My least favorite episode was probably Season Four Episode Seven. It was utter garbage.
Most people don’t like the first episodes because it’s when everyone is clueless. But this season was like straight to the point that this thing is killing people lol. Just way more content especially with the amount of storylines going on at once. It’s just MORE if that makes sense lol
Man,it's a good day when you upload @Michael Jae.I love your content so much you put in so much effort thank you.You deserve 1 million subs or more easily.
I thought the same and I felt the same about season 3 when it came out. Always said that season 1 was too slow to build up, but going back to watch I appreciate that season 1 really was the best season thus far. Especially since 2-4 build off of it a little each time
That’s usually what happens when you wait super long for a new season. It happened with Cobra Kai for me with that huge cliffhanger in Season 2 and waiting almost 2 years for Season 3. At first it was my favorite season, but now it’s my least favorite. For Stranger Things, I genuinely think this is my favorite or second favorite season. Never in this show did I fear for any of the main character’s lives, but I do now and the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been and I love every moment of it.
Just one correction - The Hawkins Lab massacre didn't led to 11 escape. The massacre took place in 1979 (first scene of season 4) and 11 escapes Nov 6th 1983 when Will gone missing and the gate was "first" open (we only learn about the real first time she opened the gate at the end of ep. 7) when she establish contact with the demogorgon and freaks out with terror and the gate opens and she manage to escape while the demogorgon killing lab workers as we see in the very first scene of the show. Great review tho :)
When Vecna went, “it’s over, your friends lost…” in the v.2 trailer, I lost it. My heart broke for El, and it makes me think more than 1 major character is going to die. The wait is killing me🙃🙃
there’s so much i’m excited for about vol. 2, but i’m also kinda worried that while season four is peaking, season five won’t be as good. i want it to end on a good note but i also want them to continue building the world and characters with the original actors…
This season was incredible so far. All of the storylines were great this season, even the weaker ones weren't bad necessarily. I'm very excited for volume 2. About the whole age gap thing, it never bothered me to much. I mean, the actors for Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan have all been playing teens when they are in their 30s. Plus, they filmed this season last year, when most of the main kids were still age 17-18, so they still looked and fit the high school part perfectly imo.
I don’t think Lucas turned on his friends … he just didn’t want to be bullied anymore. And his friends didn’t even show up to his game 🤷🏽♀️ let’s talk abt that
I dont think he turned his back on his friends but I get why his friends didnt show up to his game. Hellfire was just as important to them as basketball was for lucas
@@radicalman7304 Henry was talking to both at 2 different times. El found that info out in 1979, forgot, but remembered at the end of the season in her memories, then Vecna was telling Nancy the same story. It’s why she’s traveling through his memories and sees what he sees.
I'm halfway sure Brenner survived because 001 doesn't want him dead... Yet. 001 killed everyone but him in the massacre and if he's controlling/created the monsters if the Upside Down they also wouldn't want to/be able to kill him as they are taking their lead from 001.
I really hope they make some sort of spin-off after season 5 with Steve, Robin, and or Dustin (in my opinion but I think any other characters would be amazing as well) to show either during the time jump or after
I hope they give mike a character arc he went from the lead kid to his house being more important than him and seeing everyone sad and barely seeing mike in the trailer his death is more likely and I hope it doesn’t happen because I think he needs to help fight the upside down before he dies
the massacre at hawkins lab happens 7th september 1979, that's not when she escapes though, she escapes 6th november 1983, the same day will went missing and she created the gate after making contact with the demogorgon, eleven didn't escape hnl until around 4 years after the massacre. maybe i just didn't understand your point but the way you talked about it sounds like eleven escapes right after the massacre.
You’re right. The day she opened a gate accidentally marks the day as the day that the upside down stopped mirroring our world. Remember Nancy finds out that the stuff in her room in the upside down is two years back. It’s like when you tear the fabric between space and time suddenly the world stops moving forward. One of the worlds in this case
14:15 as a person who binged all of 1-3 again and then watching season 4 I didn't really find it that noticeable. Honestly for me it's hard to believe that they are older than 15.
Yeah, the show was also shot a year and a half ago, so the age difference isn’t that bad. Plus people in their mid twenties play high schoolers all the time, so they’re actually closer in age to their characters than in a lot of other shows
They had lots of good moments of conversations between each other, and were apart of the awesome shootout scene in epsiode 4. Other then that though, they didn't do much. Hopefully their little side road trip has good payoff in volume 2.
not much. For volume 2 they definitely are gonna reunite with hawkins. After getting el they have nothing to do and will is seen talking about vecna(probably)
From the business perspective, releasing one episode per week could be a better idea, but IMO it's better for the viewer and much easier for the writers of the show. In binge-watching formula, I feel like they can release unbalanced episodes, with more action here and more plot there, and nobody is mad about it. They could make an entire episode devoted to world building, because it's needed at this point in a show, and that would be fine. Otherwise, people start rating episodes individually, which just doesn't make sense.
I mean they tried world building in season 2 with 8 coming in and expanding what is happening in this world but apparently people were upset it wasn't what they wanted in the show
I think releasing the first 3 episodes then 2-5 weeks later releasing episodes 4-7 then releasing the final 2 3-5 weeks later would make sense for business and for viewing pleasure
@@-sela I totally agree, I actually like the fact, that the season finale is being released after, because it creates suspense, and the three-part formula would be a good compromise
I think the massacre happens a couple of years before El's escape. Brenner finds El and isolates her for a couple if years, then she escapes. We don't see her completely bloody in s1 and that also explains why she looks different from s1. I never liked Barb, Chrissy was so much better.
Absolutely. Massacre happened in 1979 to be precise. El accidentally opens up a gate in 1983 and escapes the lab as a result. From the point of Her escaping the lab is shown from season one which is in the year 1983. As all the kids died, el was the only one survived Dr.Brenner rebuild or repaired the lab and did experiments on upside down using el.
Im pretty sure Krissy was a senior and 18, Eddie brought up the middle school talent show they both attended, her being 16 would be too large of an age gap. Plus Jason is a senior so it would make sense Krissy is too.
I think in volume 2 eddie is gonna die cause if he returns to hawkins poeple will think he is a murderer and eddie said to steve that he is scared and runs away all the time and he will get his redemption in volume 2
Good review. I think the week-to-week format works for big/popular shows while the binge format works for smaller/new shows. The problem is you never know what show is going to be big. Still, I agree.
Absolutely. I was so excited and binged watched from season 1 you know to connect the dots and trying to pick up new clues. It took me 2 and a half daya
I honestly think they should just do 2 episodes every week because 1 episode a week is just not enough to satisfy me but when they all come out at once it’s just to much and I watch it all and then I feel bad about my self because I have to wait a whole month for the new volume
Stranger things and the boys are so good right now. I also think that both those shows prove that marvel/disney needs to let the mcu shows go longer or as long as the writers want. Waiting a week for short episodes then having everything rush to be wrapped up in the finale has hurt a lot of the shows.
I'll be so mad if they don't keep the binge approach for season 5. I haaate having to wait a week for each episode. I get bored and it won't keep my attention. I had the same problem with GOT, I got to binge the first three seasons and it was amazing, and then after that I slowly lost interest because there was so much waiting involved
I think Netflix has already confirmed they'll release S05 in one go, but considering how rapidly Netflix is losing subscribers, I think that's a huge mistake. As explained in the video, releasing episodes over a longer period of time keeps people talking about a show longer, and Netflix desperately needs that. They need to incentivise people to stick around on the platform longer. If a show is released over a period of several weeks, you need to maintain your subscription to watch it, but if it's released in one day you can just get a free trial to binge it and delete your account. Netflix needs to change their release models or they're gonna go bust.
@@robbiesmith8055 yeah I mean I get what you're saying, but I think Netflix just needs to come out with better quality stuff. I bet they could keep binge releasing if they had more stuff people actually wanted to watch.
As for character deaths, I think El, Hopper, Joyce and Dustin are the only ones I think are fully safe. I could really see it being anyone else if the duffers are going for a big hit. Max: I think isn’t too likely bc they keep showing her be in danger in the trailer and I think that’s just a fake out. But the letters are written so you never know..? Lucas: It would hit Max, the rest of the gang and Erica hard, and with him starting by KIND OF “betraying” the others in the start, then dying to help them could happen. Eddie: he’s just perfectly set up to have a classic ST death. Nancy: I’m worried they keep showing she survives the trance bc she dies later. Steve: they’ve built up the Nancy and Steve moments this season so he could sacrifice for her or the kids. Robin: what she said in the trailer, plus she’s not a super important character but is very well loved Mike: would say “I love you” to El and it would hit Nancy hard. Will: would be a big twist and at the end we see what the painting is Jonathan: I think the writers don’t know what to do with his character anymore, and maybe they’re just making him high the whole season so at the end he might die helping the kids.? Argyle: would be surprising but he hasn’t contributed a lot, if any, to the plot other than being the driver and comedic relief. Jason: I think we’d all prefer him to die bc, despite him trying to avenge his girlfriend, he’s taken it too far. Dr. Brenner: they might try to give him redemption by saving eleven and then dying. Owen: maybe El feels betrayed and isn’t worried about him dying when she blows up the lab. Karen: she seems to be getting more and more suspicious of the kids and since she has a character poster, she might die trying to find Nancy.
Well you've had people in their 30s playing teens throughout history hell in the early 1900s they had actors in their 40s playing teenagers in romeo and juliet
They could've had hopper go into the upside down or gain some sort of super power during the explosion but instead they just made him go down to the level below Idk it's just weird?
Amazing season so far. Volume two I believe will live up to expectations probably exceed. I love the addition of Argyle and Eddie. Saddest part was eleven losing her hair again. You could tell she was so happy and proud that she grew it out only to have it shaved again no body is talking about this but it’s so sad. I think a lot of bodies are going to drop in volume two. Hope it won’t be to much of a tear jerker
I started Stranger Things for the first time on friday afternoon, and had finished seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 by sunday morning. Fave scene by far is Max's ascension at Billy's grave. Can't wait for volume 2 to drop, this show is amazing.
I was kinda sad that Jonathan lost all of the great character development and chemistry with Nancy. He doesn’t take ANY photographs this season and seems have replaced that hobby with smoking weed.
Yeah I think Fred is the key to the future of stranger things and there is So much to unpack. I really think he Was the Highlight of season 4 Volume 1 before he died
I saw a set leak on twitter a little bit ago that got confirmed by this trailer. I know exactly who the major character death is, because the leak was of a cast member in makeup fully vecna’d with eyes ripped out and blood everywhere Fuck twitter tbh
Even tho there was a 3 year gap they made it work, it's sorta payed off, every episode is extremely good and it shows that they care, why can't other show righters/ game developers etc do this?
Theory;- The dnd club aka ELEVEN, MIKE, LUCAS, DUSTIN, WILL and MAX. Everyone somehow went or connected to other dimensions except mike ( I am talking about just 6 of them) For example - •Will is connected to the upside down and was stuck there. • Eleven communicates with will through her void and was stuck there when she vanished in S-1. • MAX is possessed and went to VECNA'S mind lair. • Dustin is going to the upside down in S-4 vol 2 according to the teaser- trailer. • LUCAS KNOW'S ABOUT THE CREEL HOUSE ,VECNA OPENING GATES AND ALSO WENT TO CREEL HOUSE WITH MAX AND ERICA ALONE IN (UPCOMING SEASON) * while mike doesn't even know about VECNA yet he never saw what upside down looks like or he doesn't even know that VECNA is connected to his girlfriend. Till now he only knows about upside down* SO THE THEORY IS - THE CHARACTERS THAT ARE SHOWED THE LEAST ARE GOING TO BE A BIG PART OF THE STORY LINE , LIKE HENRY CREEL, WILL BYERS ( THE WHOLE S-1 WAS ABOUT WILL).
By the way the name of the Russian guard demitri plays is called Antonov after a guard called his name when Yurei called the prison. Antonov is also the name of the model of yurei is plane.
The death of the B's will continue and here's why. s1 - Barbara s2 - Bob s3 - Billy S4 - Brenner in the episode papa, we can infer we see that eleven leaves the nina project, we see this in the new trailer. she blows everything up including a helicopter and a few guards. unless brenner escapted or had a safe spot he would die. Eddie also might die and here's why. If he stayed alive then everywhere he went people would treat him bad for "killing Chrissy" Will also will die i believe. He hugs jonathon in the trailer and i think its because he saw a clock if it isnt Will who dies then it will be Mike. Max also has a high chance of dying, i believe she confirmed she isn't returning for season 5, and Vecna wouldn't let her live again. The Duffer's confirmed Vecna's return for the 5th season of Stranger Things so he doesn't die this season. Eddie - Hawkins Gang Brenner - Hawkins Massacre gang Max - Hawkins Gang Will/Mike - California gang i feel like the show might also kill off steve but thats just a guess. if they kill steve and eddie then dustin will be very sad and he will step up and start to follow their footsteps.
I just want to comment on the Will/Mike death. I doubt neither of them will die. Partly because they were barely on screen. You'd normally give a character more screen time before killing them off (however we have a little under 4 hours of screen time for the last 2 episodes so it can still change). My thoughts on Will dying is that it would just be a copy of Hoppers storyline last season. Build up a possible relationship, to then just kill him off. And Wills painting will just turn into Hoppers letter. A little repetitive. My thoughts on Mike dying (Also another point for Will but I don't have much for Mike) is the one scene him and Will are having that conversation on the vol.2 trailer where Will says "he won't stop 'till he has everyone" (Or whatever he says). I just can't help but think that that scene has to be after the final battle because they are kinda just chillin. Like why aren't they helping the Hawkins gang? Idk 🤷♂️ I just think Will crying to Jonathan is just as simple as Will coming out, or after they've got Eleven, Mike os back to being a douche. How would they know about the clock thing? And if it's speculation then they wouldn't be that emotional. Idk tho. I just don't want either of them to die
@@math_chan_5356 i think they are gonna meet up with 11 because they were in salt lake city utah and got the cords to the nina project. Where they go from there on is in vol 2.
hi michael jae! from the video you posted yesterday, where the hawkins gang were in the car sad/afraid. I think they took Eddie's trailer. Since Mr. Munson has moved.
Will should just become the bad guy because then he would have more screen time. Plus he wouldnt 3rd wheel anymore. AND then he could have a cool redemption arc + more. it would add a lot to his character!
The massacre: I think seeing older teens being horribly mangled has taken some time. With a bunch of younger kids, maybe it just wasn’t a 100% idea to have them all get killed onscreen like that.
Not gonna lie, Lucas has pissed me off from the beginning. That really shows his craft because I've seen that Actor in interviews and he's an absolute sweetheart from what I have seen, so the fact that Lucas can piss me off all the way back from season one really is a Testament to that actors skill.
Who said it’s done after watching. I watched it 3 times already and 2 times in reactions. And currently preparing for 4rth time one day before release to spot out all details.
@Jack Costabile I can’t imagine it happens in the early 90’s. I think they should still to the 80’s themes, and it would just feel off to have a single season not in the same decade
I heard someone suggest that if Netflix still wants to use the binge model then they should do a 2 or 3 episodes a week over a full month so that they get both. The binge model and the wait.
Personally for me i’m mainly excited about vol. 2 because it’s genuinely gonna be scary who’s dying which i’m excited about. I just wasn’t scared in vol 1 since i knew the writers wouldn’t kill someone off. I hope vol. 2 will give game of thrones vibes where everyone can die at any second.
I have a question You guys remember 008 “Kalli” she was the only one test subject out of all 18 who has different types of abilities. Like all others have same power as 11 does but she is the only one who posses different types of power. You must think about it?🤔🤔
I have rewatched the season many times and I have literally skipped the hopper storyline other than the end when him and Joyce get hot and heavy! The season is still good with out it. Will looks 25 and for a character that did nothing but be the 3rd wheel and talk in code because he can’t say he’s gay, his character gets a D for the season.
Remember when Netflix changed Stranger Things’ rating to TV-MA? What if they were going to do the massacre with full detail, but it was too dark so they had to take it out to give it a TV-14 rating.
Well the creel house murders took place 1959 and it's fair to say the kid was 10-12 and this season is set in 1986 with her being 14/15 making him early 20s when she was born and its shown Brunner doesn't have much empathy for his test subjects really. That would also explain why she's more powerful because instead of her having his blood into her shown at the end of the season she is directly connected to vecna and his powers. This would also make more sense why he's more interested in her even though she's more powerful. We know Brenner drugged her mum so they have connections making this even more likely and the other women tricked into this actually miscarried his children. This would make the emotional stakes so much higher
@@accio_firewhiskey8256 no I think vecna lied about that and in reality he just wanted 11 to develop her powers though fighting 2 and his friends. As 11 was already learning how her powers worked and likely would win and kill them in the process
The music element reminds me of Golb from Adventure Time. Because Golb is discord, harmony harms him. BMO is joined by Jake, Marceline and PB, as they sing a song in harmony, thus temporarily weakening Golb for just long enough to rescue Simon and Finn, who are trapped inside Golb's body. Betty stays behind, and uses the crown to become Golb in an effort to save Simon.
as someone who cant binge anything without getting bored, i would appreciate the weekly model. My friends finished it all in a day and i had to do one a day so i couldn't talk to them about it.
The 1979 massacre didn't lead to her escape. A more detailed massacre scene involving children is probably not exactly what the general public wants to see right now.
SUBSCRIBED. BTW, I think releasing this season in 2 parts was the best decision the duffers could make. But the weekly release format just doesn't fit this show.
