I do want to say I don’t think L has healing powers I just think she used her powers to be able to keep pumping max’s heart full of blood. I feel that if L had healing powers then max would be in a better state then a coma.

I think El's "healing powers" were essentially her using her telekinesis to perform more intense CPR on Max's heart, it seems more realistic to the nature of her powers and is juuuuuuust a little less OP than giving her full on restorative powers. Great video!
16:50 they purposely made it ambiguous as a reference to the first halloween movie where michael myers fell out of the house and disappeared. I think that all but confirms his return next season if it wasn't obvious enough already
@@shisexee Yeah she hesitated before she started her heart back up. When Max died there was a bit of time in which El was just crying before she said something along the lines of "No, you don't get to die" and started pumping her heart again.
Volume 2 for me was 6-7/10, probably 6.5/10. There were some good things, but the finale was edited and paced terribly, the writing was lazy and spotty, Eddie's death was more predictable than me breathing while writing this comment. Vecna is not a good big bad, and UD feels much more insignificant. Good things, the acting, the visuals, and the 8th episode had wholesome moments.
Bro this guy just said the questions that were in my mind. I mean like since when did eleven had gealing powers and how is nothing happening to steve. He was infected by the demo bats and nothing happend to him
The demobats didn't "infect" Steve. They just bit him. It's not like he's gonna turn into a demogorgone lol. Also El used her telekinesis to give CPR to Max. If she had healing powers she could have easily fixed her broken limbs
The show started off with Will. I'd appreciate him being the main focus of season 5. A confession to Mike, being able to spy on Vecna, some happiness, and a final showdown with him would be amazing. Let Will be happy.
I'm hoping that the neck tingle scene was foreshadowing him having a better storyline next season. Season two was definitely Will's best and the neck tingle was such a pivotal part of that. I hope Mike gets some good screen time too, they've been doing him dirty since season two as well.
I loved Eddie as a character but I hate that he was killed off. The writers constantly do this every season where they write in new characters only to kill them off, just to elicit an emotional response from the audience without the major consequences of killing a main character. It's getting to the point that the main characters are becoming essentially invincible.
Since the next season is the last season. I really believe one or more of the original cast will be killed. I think 11 will die sacrificing herself for her friends like they were going to do in the first season before they decided to make this storyline the whole show. Originally the show was supposed to be a new storyline every season and 11 was supposed to die instead of ending up in the upside down. The storyline became so massively popular that they changed there minds and made that story the whole show. So I think they’ll finish her storyline the same way.
Eddie died so others could live, so was for Bob and Billy, people liked Billy for his looks and cause they related to his traumatic past, they liked Bob because he was the father figure everyone wanted in life, and Eddie was most liked because so many people could relate to being misunderstood outcast and all those characters had meaningful deaths that were well placed in the story and allowed the main characters to live another day! They all were a form of sacrifice that git our main heros to stay alive!
Watch, Eddie will come back as Kas. A Lieutenant of Vecna’s. In D&D Kas is the one who turns on vecna. And kills him. This isn’t the last we have heard of Eddie. Look up D&D lore and you might be able to get an idea of where they may go.
I'm really interested to see how important Will is going to be in season 5. The duffers said he will be the main focus for season 5 and I hope that they don't mess up everything. Will is so under used in the show ,apart from his neck tingle, which is such a shame because Noah is an incredible actor. Noah's performance was my favourite in season 2. Anyways can't wait to see where the whole Vecna and Will parallel will lead.
Volume 2 was great. The emotions from Eddie's death, Mike’s monologue to Eleven about how he loves her, Joyce and Hopper finally kissing, the action, the music everything was well worth the wait. Season 4 is my second favourite after Season 3. The ending was definitely shocking. Can't wait for Season 5
Yeah I honestly loved it. The scope of what was happening expanded, setting up an intense final season, without losing the feel of stranger things or its character moments. Eddie's death really hit hard (I liked the Duffers comments on a podcast of how they viewed him as a doomed character), Mike's monologue did a great job of recapping the most central relationship of the show, and the ending with the Upside-down creeping up the hill was hauntingly beautiful.
@@Qwnntm that last shot left me speechless. they finally entered the dark ages and im here for it season 5 could bolster this to one of the best shows in modern television.
I saw a theory that when 001 was talking to El, he said the kids were still with him, so when he almost killed Max, she stayed with him. That would be a good reason why El couldn't find her and it could also make Max an important part next season.
Eleven dying would make the whole show pointless... the entire show is just her going through shit, she deserves a happy ending, and if she dies Mike loses the person he can't live without, Hopper loses another daughter, everyone is depressed. Duffers also explicitly said killing off Mike would be too depressing and they won't do it...
Yeah, I agree. El deserves to stay alive at the end. She has been through wayyy too much (for her age) and needs a break. Also, the Duffers could be lying. I watched an interview with Joseph Quinn and he said he had plans for s5 soo
@@philosopher1912 they aint scared, they just dont want to write the entire show focused on a death. To kill a main character would take a lot of screentime away from other plots. S5 will have plenty of deaths I feel as they wont have to follow up on any.
I think if El can make a kid pee himself, it's not hard to imagine that she could use her powers to pump Max's heart until it restarts/EMTs arrive. Also I feel like because EVERYONE thinks Steve will die, that's exactly why he won't. I really don't know who would die and honestly would it be so bad if no one did? You can still have dire consequences without death.
i really wish that the characters read the letters that max gave them, i know they basically did that in season 3 but i was wanting to know what it would it said for each of the characters
I'm hoping they revisit that in season 5 at some point. Hopefully not because Max dies but maybe they can read them to her and react to them? I don't know. I'd hate to think that they focused on the letters so much for us to not know what's in them.
@@Marshmallow_jello maybe with the rumour that Vecna has basically consumed Max. They read the letters to her to get her to remember who she is/get her back.
Murray is most likely just at home. He’ll definitely be back next season. As for Yuri and Dmitri, I’m sure they are also at Murray’s house or in Russia. I think I remember Murray saying that Dmitri would fit right in Indiana, so they’re likely at Murray’s house.
Pros: Really good music in emotional scenes such as Brenners death, Eddie’s death, Eddie’s Uncle and Dustin talking, and a really good intriguing climax/final battle scene. Cons: A bit overwhelming at times and the writers not being more risky with killing off characters. Solid 8.5/10
They rushed the last two episodes they feel super rushed and I feel like Eddie should of been around and died in season 5 his death with basically pointless
Oh truuuue, cause she wasn't getting any medical treatment she was just dying, maybe the paddles would've done the trick too. Thanks for saying this! Makes a lot more sense!
I've watched your videos for a while and enjoy them but I had to laugh when you said "I didn't want us to be right'. You've made so many predictions that some had to be right - most of them have being totally wrong. You said Steve would die, you said Max floating in the graveyard was El getting her powers back, etc. You've come out with a lot of wild claims that flat out were wrong, so many though that of course one or two will be right.
RIP Eddie he was such a good character for me and him and Steve are my two favorite characters rn lmao also I really didn't want him to die! #bringbackeddiemunson and #justiceforeddiemunson
How would they bring back Eddie in a way that makes sense? I cried as much as the next person when he died but if the bring him back the impact of his death is completely lost & that means they can just continue ex machinaing people back. When no characters die ever there is no stakes
My review of volume 2 is 9/10: The same as Vol One: It's undoubtedly clunky, flat out forgets about some of the characters, and is basically 3 TV shows crammed into one, but the good stuff outweighs the bad tenfold. It's emotional begins to add real stakes to the show, the acting is some of the best I've ever seen, and for all the action there was a touching moment for almost every character. Overall season 4 probably has the most problems of any season of the show, but it also has the most good stuff, leading to a very good, very dark setup to the season 5 finale. Definitely worth the wait.
@@mikeamber2528 Yeah thinking about it that's definitely true, I've never been one of the season 3 lovers myself(Like why did they destroy Hopper and Mikes Characters and make Lucus pointless comic relief)
Literally just handling Eddie's death better and having Enzo, Murray and Yuri standing beside the car with the Hopper reunion would have made the finale THAT much better.
I agree. I just think that the wrap up at the end should have been longer, even by just 15 minutes. They needed it for it to feel satisfying with all that was going on. Did anyone even mention Eddie's death other than Dustin and Eddie's uncle? Ugh! I also have to say that I was disappointed that the El/Hopper reunion was less than 2 minutes long :/ . We saw her be manipulated by Brenner SO much this season and then Hopper finally makes it back and is ready to admit when *he* was manipulative and be the best dad he can be and we get to see so little of it.
@@maddie8415 Well said. It's like Eddie's death took backstage and the 'Ooh Vecna succeeded!' was the centre stage as soon as we get that pointless time jump. That, and Hopp and El's reunion being so short were just quite annoying.
@@arq4ic But they're not safe in Russia anymore. They would be known defectors of the Soviet Union, and it wouldn't be a stretch to assume the KGB would be after them.
@@WildcardASMR yeah but they wouldn't just suddenly go to Hawkin's with Hopper & Joyce. They'd be working with the agency to get their families out/probably being debriefed so the U.S could get info on the USSR. Them winding up in Hawkins would make no sense. Some characters are brought in to serve a purpose & leave whent they're done. Not everyone has to join the main cast always
Lucas, Mike, Dustin, and Will should take on "the big bad" dungeons and dragons style It would be epic to see, the series started with them in Mike's basement playing D And D, so it would be very awesome to see this.
I loved the season but I definitely felt a little let down by the epilogue of the finale. There were way too many storylines and it seemed like they weren't able to bring enough closure to all of them. Even the more pivotal moments of the finale didn't get the proper recognition in my opinion. For example, Eddie's death. I would have LOVED to see Steve, Robin, and Nancy finding Dustin and their reactions to Eddie. I also felt like the fallout from Max's situation wasn't handled very well either, I would have thought that Steve would have been more effected by her injuries than he was. I know she at least got a hospital visit from the California crew but that scene felt more stale to me than anything. It seemed like El, Lucas, and Erica were the only ones really effected by Max and that doesn't seem realistic to me. I know Dustin had just watched Eddie die and all but Max had been one of his best friends since middle school and he didn't really show any emotion for her. I know it was probably cut because of time and whatnot but I would have rather had more of the aftermath of their plan than anything from the two day jump.
I felt like the Hopper storyline was even more so poorly fleshed out. Like, why did Yuri fix the helicopter anyway? What convinced him to do it? The victory in China alone shouldn’t have been enough, he was very stubborn. And besides, what happened to Antonov after the helicopter was fixed? Was he able to go back to meet his family, or did something else happen? They could have expanded on it a little more, but nope, just the helicopter lifting, and that’s it
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 I mean some characters don't need their storyline wrapped up when you can reasonably deduce they went back go to their families & to their lives.
I mean Eleven made a boy pee himself and levitated mike outta nowhere... so why question the healing? It is the nost explained concept. Eleven inhanced her powers while regaining them and they it it clear happy memories are a strong core for the strength of her powers. It makes sense that her personal relationship with Max, that she would be able to use those execeperiences to help Max revive, not heal. Also of you notice, Max and El were each other's only female friend... El had hell with Angela and Max was living in hell alone. I think Max wouldn't have been so vulnerable if El didn't have to leave.
She sent someone to another dimension. I don’t see why they can’t let her bring people back from the dead. El might as well be Jesus and I wouldn’t be surprised.
I'm actually feeling burnt out with all the death speculation. Everyone spent soo long predicted who would die, and they just pulled their same old tricks. Introducing a cool new character for that season specifically just to die. And briefly pretending to kill off a main character just to bring them back. (They've already done this with El, hopper and Brenner) I don't particularly want characters to die, but it really lowers the stakes whenever it feels like everyone has plot armour. Yes technically anyone could die In the final season, but Im not that worried tbh, I feel like they're too attached to most of the characters to kill them. They won't kill off eleven, hopper or max, because we've already mourned for their deaths when we thought they died previously, so it wouldn't be as impactful. They won't kill off will or Jonathan because that would leave Joyce without a son, which lessens the impact of the first season when she spent all that time to save her son. They won't kill off Steve because it would result in a situation too similar to Eddie's death, with Dustin crying over his older friend. And honestly I just don't see them having the balls to kill off any of the original kids, because they view them as the Goonies, who always get out of the adventure alive. They won't kill off Joyce because if hopper can't die, he needs to have a happy ending, and with EL soon growing up and leaving him, he'll need his love Joyce. Which I guess only leaves Nancy and robin as possible deaths. But honestly I wouldn't be surprised if neither of these characters died as well. So I basically think the characters all feel too safe going into the final season, which isn't exciting, and this could have been avoided if they just followed through and killed off just one main character this season.
I honestly end up really surprised when anyone thinks they will kill off El just because the original plan in Season 1 was for her to sacrifice herself. She's way too attached to the rest of the characters now for that to be remotely the same (plus, that's too predictable now that we all know that original plan). I think that it would be just way too depressing for Hopper to lose another daughter and they'd have to mercy kill him too (and he's already "died")...but then Joyce would be so crushed but how do you mercy kill her when she has her boys? And Mike would be destroyed after his monologue about how he can't lose her. You're absolutely right about their pattern for killing (or "killing") characters. As they even just said "we're not Game Of Thrones".
El has always had the to heal in season one she made Troy pee his pants and she got his kidneys to work and that’s an organ so she got Max’s organs to start back up but vecna still has her mind which is why she in a coma
Kidneys serve to filter waste, the bladder stores the urine, which she squeezed using her powers, and she did not heal max, she restarted her heart by beating it for her.
To me, it makes more sense for El to find a way to surrender her powers for good so that no portals can be opened again. This season had a theme of her trying to figure out who she was without her powers. That kind of got abandoned because the plot almost immediately became about getting them back. So season 5 could have El finally accepting what Mike says: she's a hero with or without her powers. She can lose her powers, effectively shutting g down the link between our world and the Upside Down, and go on to live a happy life as just El.
I always knew Eddie would die so that didn't hit me much but when max started floating I was like she's fine someone will save her then the first bone broke and I was like she's hurt but it's just a broken arm someone will save her, then the second bone broke then the third and when she died I lost it man tears flowing down my eyes like the Victoria falls
3:44 To be fair, I feel like there wasn't much need in mentioning Chornobyl. First of all, Hopper storyline takes place in Soviet Russia (Kamchatka, to be exact), not Soviet Ukraine (where Chornobyl is located, not that far away from Kyiv). And distance between Kamchatka and Chornobyl is almost 7k km, so duh. Second of all, USSR held a strict informational curtain under any emergencies in order to not give any reasons for people of country to panic. So I'm pretty sure not a lot of non-Chornobyl civilians would even know about the disaster for the first several months at least. And some random military men from far away wouldn't know about this either, 'cause why would they - Chornobyl disaster is not their responsibility, secret Demo-base is. I guess they could've made it so that some guy (maybe even Dmitri or Yuri) from that base had family in Chornobyl, but I still highly doubt they would be given any info by government on what happened.
I honestly loved vol. 2. I just hope they use Will more in S5, it seemed like they were setting that up with the finale.
As much as I love Max being brought back to life it kinda ruins the whole sad part with Lucas and El. Also watching your video ruined Eddie’s death a little, not blaming you just saying it took away from the drama
So idk if Eleven has healing powers I think she just pumped Max’s heart telepathically just like how in season 1 Hopper starts Will’s after he gets caught by the demigorgan.
The duffers said that they are going to make an overall happy ending, so I think that they will for sure not kill El or Mike. They were the leading characters in season 1 and 2 so killing them off is not going to be considered a happy ending for sure, knowing the fact that it would be the saddest thing on earth for most fans to see them die like that.
I have a horrific sinking feeling that they are going to kill off Dustin in the next season. We all know how much the Duffers like to kill off fan favorites. And with how much Dustin looked up to Eddie for his sacrifice, I feel like this will come to define his character going forward. Pencil it in, RIP Dusty Bun.
The Duffers won't kill the main characters at this point. They know that no one gives a shit if everyone lived and they are too scared to kill any of them. They already made an interview basically saying that they won't kill the kids lol
Mike is 100% dying in season 5 protecting someone. He is gonna be like Billy, be an asshole and redeem himself by sacrificing to save Will or Eleven or even the whole group.
VECNA killed his mom because she was the first to realize he was the one haunting his family. As he was learning his powers with him already being a disturbed child basically a megalomaniac serial killer with abilities, the restraints of mankind's world always seemed off to him because he always felt he was better than everyone truly sociopathic, once he found those black widow spiders in the house he adapted their concept of being top predators, predators of the week. She is also the one who got Brenner involved with him through taking him to the doctor for his mental state so he saw her as necessary to get rid of so he could break free but the night he killed his whole family all started with his mom realizing he was the one torturing his own family. This is why he killed his mom to escape and break Free
i think a lot of the things you said that weren't implored about vecna's past will be explained in season 5. vecna might be toying with the kids in that, he's letting them know his past, but just enough for them to feel like they had an advantage. idk that might just be my takeaway.
Me and my friend were talking about potential characters to be killed off next season and we both agreed that the two most “likely” characters are Will and Steve, Will is likely to get killed off as I’m assuming he’ll have a pretty big focus next season, so basically the show will come full circle with him being a focus in season 1 and now in season 5. But Steve is also pretty likely to be killed off because his character was planned to get killed off in season 1, but if they do kill him I hope he gets a badass send off or something, like some kind of sacrifice that saves everyone
I honestly think that Vickie ( Robin's Gf ) is going to die seeing how all newly introduced and beloved characters die, Barb, Bob, Alexei, Billy, Eddie... just my opinion
Yep and they won't kill any main cast. I mean it's not like I want them to did or anything i want them all to survive but for a show like this, that isn't realistic and they are too scared to do it
El is not the reason the upside down exists.. It was already there "since the dinosaurs" El just opened the portal. They cannot take El from Hopper, or El from FINALLY having a good life. She's always been separated from everyone. That would be the worst ending I could imagine.
Sadly i feel the best thing for season five would be a mid season death. It would add a whole lot more to the stakes. It would give more emotion to motive’s. Killing a main character at the end that didn’t join in the same season at the end of the show is kind of pointless since season five is the final season and as much as I would hate having a character die halfway through it would be such a change and such a blow in the gut. But I don’t know
I agree. If a character suddenly gets killed right in the middle, the stakes would skyrocket because now we know people could die at any time. I also just think it's necessary to space out any deaths so they each get to leave a proper impact. If every death in the series is crammed into the last episode, it diminishes the impact each one has since they can't give equal focus to the aftermath of each one. A shock mid-series death would be a very good move.
Don't get your hopes up. The duffers have clearly shown after specifying no one was safe this season, that was a complete lie and it's clear they don't have any balls to kill off a main character
@@PhantomBryan9 exactly what I’m thinking. It would be great if they did, but at this point, it’s basically too late for them to start trying changes like that
@@PhantomBryan9 Unfortunately you're probably right. A mid season death would hugely benefit the story, but so would main character deaths at any point in the first 4 seasons, and the Duffers have clearly shown they're more interested in keeping their cast bloated instead of servicing their story.
Eddie also got a nasty neck wound. That's like asking why a soldier lived from a bullet to the shoulder while the guy next to him took a neck wound & bled out lol
A question I want answering is how are they going to start s5 because the kids are meant to be older but they literally can’t skip the world being taken over by the upside down
I think that el's "Healing powers" came from the fact that vecna uses terrible memories to kill his victims but eleven used max's happy memories to bring her back to life since eleven hypothetically chose path of light while vecna chose path of darkness. So her powers are like the opposite of his own even though they are very similar.
They made a huge point about how the upside down is stuck on November 6th the day will went missing and Eddie died in the upside down, which will means he died in the past so maybe that can mean something?? I hope you guys understand what I’m saying, like a possibility of his return?
They didn't do the extra month just for effects. They stated it was because so many spoilers would be released the night of in the past and they wanted to give audiences who don't binge a chance to catch up without being spoiled if they decided to take their time. Especially with the longer episodes
Don't rewatch it lmfao you see how lazy and pathetic it really is They killed Eddie because The Doofus bros almost forgot to kill someone and need a somewhat emotional death
Whatever happens next season I know not to get to attached to a good new character, because they will most definitely die in a heroic way in the last episode of season 5.
I honestly think the best thing they can do is not introduce any new characters (aside from minor ones on the periphery, like a military presence in Hawkins or something). They have way too many characters already that they have to try giving satisfying endings to, and adding More characters is just going to make that impossible task even harder. This season should focus on the people we've been with since the beginning, rather than giving us another Eddie to take away from the character development of the original cast.
They don't mention the Chernobyl thing because that happened April 1986 and season 4 takes place March 1986 so a month earlier. Mike goes to California on March 22 which was Will's birthday.
I have a theory- I think max is hiding in her memory….the skating memory… it was not necessary to show us that and it felt a little out of place and yet they showed it to us… so I think she is hiding from Vecna in that memory…also in the end of season 2 the mindflayer was shown in the upside down during the snow ball dance….which means vecna knew about that memory and hence it was easier to find her but vecna does not know about max’s skating memory….not sure if its possible…its just a theory….and maybe be in the next season el will have to go find her and I think max definitely will know something about vecna that will help the gang to fight him…
Woah I highly disagree on the weekly schedule thing. As cool as it would be for a theater release, there is a HUGE problem with weekly releases, and Disney Plus also falls into this as well -- People get their hopes up going down rabbit hole theories. They make these intricate theories or get hyped, and then when these theories don't pan out, people get extremely disappointed or upset. I feel like it's more harmful for a weekly release, and we saw that with ST4. Everyone was upset with Will's painting, who ended up dying, etc.
I feel like there's a sweet spot. The trouble with Netflix is that all their great shows get forgotten about very quickly, because everyone binges it within a few days and then moves right on. The 2 volume release of Stranger Things prevented this from happening, because it got everyone hyped up the the finale, and everyone theorising about the last 2 episodes kept people talking about it for a full month after Vol 1. However, I can see where a weekly release loses some people, especially when we're used to binging content. But releasing 2-3 episodes a week over 3 weeks seems like a good solution. It gives people more content and a shorter wait for the ending, but it keeps people talking about the show long enough to keep the hype alive. As for people being disappointed their theories were wrong, idk what to tell you. Not getting your dream outcome doesn't mean the show was bad, it just means the writers have a different vision than the one you handcrafted for yourself.
Eddie could have survived Dustin is smarter than Nancy and could have used his headband and with the giant gate opening seconds later her could’ve dragged him through and brought him to a hospital and they have no proof that he killed Chrissy Fred and Patrick
For me Vol.1 was definetely better than Vol 2. The second part had a lot of pacing issues and some weird plot armour and deus ex machina for the characters that I didn't really enjoy. They set up the stakes super high with Vol.1 and kind of dropped them for Vol.2. Also I was kinda hoping for more deaths since they said it was their game of thrones season. I hope the story recovers on season 5, it will be fun to see Hawkins swallowed by the upside down
El. . . I think El's going to die and I'm literally so scared. Like, I've grown so attached to El, and Ik shes the main character and so she's, like, overrated or whatnot, but I LOVED getting to watch her grow and develop through the series. Escpecially in her relationships w/ the other characters, w/ hopper, mike, will, joyce, max, I think she might be the best character, unless mike un-douchbags or will gets more screen time. Either way I don't think shes overrated and I rlly dont want her to die, but im almost positive she will. . . which for me is a step too far. . .
Re: weekly releases. HELLLLLLLLLL NO! You want it so you can make videos every week. The two volume release was fine. Weekly would suck ass. I speak for the entire planet.
Weekly is better. You get to talk with people about shows and it has more longetivity. I don't know who would want binge, because the show just ends up being forgotten after a week or two
@@brutusjudas5842 Well, it still is financially and in terms of longetivity better. It also has the benefit that you if you don't like it, you can just binge the season when all episodes are out
