Come declutter with me! If you have been wondering how to minimize, what a minimalist family looks like, or for other minimalism tips - this video is for you! Starting with a garage declutter! Our family is moving and we are downsizing our home! We decided we wanted to try to get rid of roughly 1/3 of our things. Can we do it?! I am not entirely sure, especially since we are already pretty minimal. This will be a three part series!

So I know you never expected a minimalist declutter video to make such a difference to someone, but I'm 39+5 weeks pregnant with our second and I'm in such a sad rut just waiting for her to get here. I laid down in bed with tears in my eyes on this beautiful Saturday and decided to watch your video, only getting through you guys going through the garage and that's all it took for me to just want to get rid of and sell things in the garage. It got me outside in the beautiful weather, the 4 year old got to ride his bike, and we cleaned the whole garage and got rid of so much. I felt so much lighter, hopeful, and in control of my life from such a simple thing.

Tia!! Your comment put a huge smile to my face. First...you are an amazing woman and mom! Getting all that accomplished today while almost full term pregnant is an incredible accomplishment. You had every excuse to sit and do nothing, but you decided to get stuff accomplished! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 I am so glad my video was able to help with that in some way. I am the minimalist and my husband is not. Your blessed. You will love being a minimalist. Less stuff means less mess and less buying means saving more money.

Me too! My hubs is borderline 'hoarder'. He got it from his parents who had decided that the amount of 'stuff' that they had signified their place in society (his dad was a doctor).

My dad died about 3 months ago & my brother going on 2 years. My sister & mom & I just went through the entire house & got rid of soooo much. My dad was retired from the military since 1979 & had numerous jobs in the past year - but he had so much stuff & my brother was a collector of “everything” so the entire garage & house was cluttered with a lot of their belongs & my mom.

My daughter moved out she’s took what she wants and the rest is going to the charity shop clear bedroom for my new grandson or granddaughter next June love getting rid of stuff

I agree that if you need something in the future, simply buy it! ( and no...I don't believe in this 'throw away' society). Another youtuber (I forget which one) suggested it was worth paying Walmart (or another store) to store these items instead of cluttering up your home. Brilliant!

Hi Arianna....i am working on becoming minimalist...i have alot of stuff that honestly needs to go...hoping to a least be sorting stuff this next week as i will be recovering from hysterectomy surgery that I am having tomorrow...excited to see how things go with your new house...hope you have a great day

It's nice to watch videos like this while going through a decluttering project! I just bought my first house and it's bigger than my last home (still under 1,000 sq ft) but it's older and has less storage. I'm going through the things I didn't donate before moving and paring down even more. My guest bedroom/mini office/future playroom is set up and it just has a daybed, bookcase of picture books, printer, and two totes of toys. It's my inspiration for the rest of the house now! This is also just a starter home so it's nice to see someone else moving after just a few years. I'll probably be here for three before buying a more permanent home in the country.

We do toys only in bedroom and have 2 bins we cycle through. I know toys in room can be no no for some. We do not have space/playroom so for us it works. He will play and theb tuck himself into bed and go to sleep.

Our girls do the same! We are all about letting kids regulate their own sleep. We are not tired the same time every night and neither are our kids! Even our 11 month old in a floor bed has toys in her room and she will choose to go straight to sleep on her own without playing most of the time 🙂

I know what it is like to live with very little. We have been full time in a RV for 5 years with a 8 year old and a 9 months old. We love it amd wouldn't have it any other way. We had a house and were never there so we sold it.

My Husband told me we should just burn our old house down! With all our stuff in it lol! We bought a mobile home and moved it onto our property, he told me only to move what we need to the new house, and we can grab stuff as we need it from the old house! This has worked out great! We have been getting rid of a lot of stuff, we try to sell some of the good stuff. I can tell it has helped both of our mental health having a clutter-free home.

Ms. Bonnie Harris. I currently do An 30 Day challenge for the second time. On the first Day You get rid of one item, on the second two items and moving the number up every Day. You will find that is really easy to declutter this way. Good Luck with the move❤️

I went to Sherwin Williams to color match a color from lowes and it was wrong too! Luckily its a gray color so it doesnt show too much but my room has two different grays and finishes and that wasnt my intention!

*Living* *poor* *and* *being* *poor* *are* *two* *totally* *different* *things* . It is all about the mindset, and I would say that a financial minimalist falls under living poor. Living poor can lead to LARGE gains. Stay wealthy my friends!

Interested in knowing where do u post and sell things??? I have trouble with the thought of a sell stash and looking at it for a couple of days. Thoughts? I always get the impulse of jus dropping it off at donations down the street from my house

I usually only sell things that hold a lot of value for that reason! Offer up is usually pretty reliable. Facebook marketplace is the best for people from what I have heard but I don’t use it cause it makes me a bit uncomfortable having my actual name and such attached to it. But I know that tends to be the best place for people! We donate clothes to a local non-profit that helps local families in need though, and anything else just goes to goodwill or Salvation Army and some to that organization as well if it’s something we know they’ll use!

Facebook marketplace is good if you get people truly wanting to buy rather than just always asking "is this available?" And when you say yes they ghost on you and never actually want to buy. Also, fb for sale groups are good. It also depends on what your selling if you can get rid of it fast or not. Cellphones and electronics are hot items and clothes are a hit or miss.

That’s a great idea! We are probably doing a family trip this Christmas instead of gifts, so I won’t really have a “what I got my kids for Christmas” video to do again! I’ll have to do a minimalist gift guide for those that are doing gifts 🙂

I submitted mine to the angel gown program! But you have to hold on to it until they request it. They take the gowns and make them into burial gowns for still borns and/or babies that pass away during their hospital stay.

mine husband is the opposite he loves stuff, i am at downzizing for 6 years now. And it is a struggle for mine husband. we moved to a smaller house. no garage no attic. But we do have two little sheds. i must have patients..

Patience and understanding go a long way! Really leading by example is the best you can do. Too many people try to force their spouse to get rid of things and that never ends well. You’re doing eveything right 💛

My other half is the same, its a slow process for him. Wish I could get rid of almost everything. I have 4 kids, the youngest one is a challenge, lol. She wants to keep everything....🙄 I'm slowly showing her of what she could achieve with a bit of patience.

Nope! We don’t know what age we are adopting yet but we do hope to adopt a boy. It will be a few years down the road! So we can worry about that then. No need to hold on to a bunch of stuff we may or may not need. Thankfully we have the ability to do that financially, I know not everyone does!

See through? I may be a tad OCD about see through ones 😂 I just want a solid wreath case that isn’t see through or a bright red. I’m being way to picky I know lol. But the white box works for now 🙂
