So obviously this isn't for everyone and is a personal choice. Just like some people like how they look with pierced ears and some don't. I don't like how mine look on me since they get EXTREMELY dark and thick and there isn't really a way to "trim" or "thin" them while keeping it look natural so I choose to get rid of them. I don't want it noticeable and I want it to look natural. So that's why I use an epilator and tweezers, that way it grows back natural looking and not 'stubbly' or thicker. I choose this method rather than others since it's easy to do yourself and it's more precise than other methods.
*The epilator I'm using is Emjoi's Epislim, and i bought it at Sally's Beauty Supply for around $20.

Idk why but I feel so relieved when I remove and shave off my side burns. I just find them to be itchy and I feel "free" when I get them off! makes no sense i know

aw :( when I did it my mom was like, 'what did u do?!!' i was so embarrassed -_- but it didn't last too long, they grow out and not look shaved after a couple of weeks

Thank you so much for this video!!! I have PCOS that causes excessive hair growth. I have tried a lot of methods to remove my sideburns but was never really happy with any of them. I would have never thought to use an epilator. I am SO excited to try it.

Love the video! I am Hispanic as well and I hated my sideburns! Today I removed them for the first time in my life and my mom thought I was crazy! But removing them gave me more self confidence! Thanks for the tips!

it only really hurts while the hair is being plucked, it may sting for a few seconds after but it doesn't hurt for along time afterwards or anything like that

it would still be noticeable when it grows back if your hair is dark but it won't look like you shave them or do anything to them, so no one would know, it would also grow back a bit thinner so it'd be slightly less noticeable then before

im sorry i didn't get to ur comment until now! i shaved my sideburns too in highschool and what i can say is if they bother you that much then wear your hair down until they grow out just a tiny bit (maybe a week or so) and then use tweezers to pluck the hairs out if you don't have an epilator. they really don't have to be very long to pluck them out jus a centimeter or two

the dark shade is hair, it's just reallly short cause you shaved it, so if you wait til it is a little longer you can either pluck, wax, or epilate (the one i prefer!) to yank them out by the root and then you won't have that shadow

hmmm.. well if it bothers u a ton, and u don't mind pain, i'd at least wait until the hairs are able to be grabbed with tweezers (only like a centimeter or more) and tweeze them out as they grow in, so that way they're pulled out by the root and would grow in naturally and not 'shadowy'

nooo, it'll grow out and not look 'stubbly' anymore but the ends will be a bit thicker, if you want to fix that then you could epilate, wax, tweeze (anything that'll take the hair out by the root) and then let it grow out since the hair that will grow in will be "new" hair and have the thinner ends again

it can be different for everyone depending on if their hair grows faster or slower, mine usually starts growing a week or two after but it's very light and not noticeable for quite a while, and no it won't have any stubble b/c it's "new" hair growing in so it looks natural

it shud since Nair says it destroys the root completely, i've never had luck with it tho for some reason, i've tried it before and it only took a few pieces of hair off but if it works well for you then it shud be good!

girls be careful with waxes : i've tried it (cold was stripes for facial hair) and it was quick and 1 second painful and i loooved it BUT after 3 days everywhere i had waxed was full of little red pimples for over 3 weeks. So everyone noticed it and "knew" what was the cause and it was EXTREMELY embarrassing.

it works the same way, my facial hair is almost black so it's pretty dark too. It just may show earlier when it's growing back versus light brown or blonde facial hair

i don't have any peach fuzz, jus some hair but i wax it off! and nope i don't shave my arms but honestly if you see me in person you can notice the hair since the hair is black but it doesn't bother me that much. If you have dark hair there you can wax or epilate it! I don't do it but I know people who do want a 'hairless' look and will wax or epilate their arms! (i recommend wax on the upper lip just cause it's a sensitive spot and with wax it's much quicker)

thank you! and i would assume that waxing your face could result in wrinkles or sagging because your tugging on it, kind of how people say not to pull your under eye down when your doing eyeliner cause it can cause wrinkles, and the hair usually starts to grow back within a week or two but it looks finer so you probably won't have to epilate again for a few weeks!

it usually goes away after just a night for me but i also don't have sensitive skin, i usually jus get red too, no bumps.

so right now im in sixth grade and i recall shaving my sideburns last year because when i put my hair in a ponytail for pe my sideburns would stick down and i had to put a shiz load of water and gel because i hated them down, then i shaved it with my razor and they turned out okay but now it grew back and it looks so weird! like it looks like u cut a random strand or hair near ur ear and now its about an inch long, i hate it so much, i did the same thing with my baby hairs on the back of my head and except i cut it with scissors and now we have this one inch strand of hair behind my head. i hate my sideburns so much along with that random strand of hair, im thinking about shaving it again but idk for sure :(

i would say it doesn't make much of a difference, jus make sure you get a wax that holds onto just the hair and not the hair and skin cause then it could irritate the skin!

My problem is that my side burns are just in a small section near my hair line, however they are super long! I tuck them behind my ears so i don't look ridiculous and if i cut them it looks stupid too ughh

i think it should be fine, maybe practice on a small spot jus to make sure it doesn't irritate, but from what i've seen the only thing that makes a "face" one a "face" one is the size, it's alot smaller!

ima be honest here, it hurts ALOT! it's something you have to do just really quickly because then it only hurts when your pullling out the hairs and afterwards you get that smooth look, not stubbly like how it would look if you shaved them

If you trim them to a few centimeters long before Epilating it'll hurt a bit less but it does really hurt :( the only thing that make it worth it to me, is that i only have to do it every few months! they won't grow longer if you epilate, but they won't grow shorter either, they'll jus grow as long as your sideburns are supposed to be, it's different for everybody

yea the epilator hurts alot! lol but for me it's worth it, i use it on my underarms too! whenever i used to shave them it would leave them dark so the epilator was a lifesaver!

+Isabel Sparklez i have horrible sideburns, but honestly I wont bother trying to wax/epilate them, I have many thick, dark body hair and i have enough to worry about like my arms, legs, mustache and armpits to add my sideburns to this list, I mean I dont like them but i dont hate them actually, it seems to bother more to other people than it bothers me haha

it looks natural (thin ends) not stubbly (thick ends), no one will be able to tell that you epilated the hair off unlike shaving where you can see almost a 5'oclock shadow afterwards

do you have tweezers? it would hurt but you could tweeze the hairs individually, it would do the same thing as an epilator since the epilator is like a lot of tweezers tweezing the hairs really fast

Girl I have done it all, shaving, Nair, bleach, trimming, waxing, and even threading..I also started when I was a little girl so I'm sure it is worst than what it would be if I had never messed with it ...this is the only thing I haven't tried but it looks so painful! I'm just going to save up and get laser hair removal. I'm also Hispanic so I feel you. The struggle is real! :(

omg i tried this technique 2day but it left the sides of my face super red and bumps but was so worth it cause made a enormous difference&redness/bumps went away thanks !!!

thanks! & i got mine at Sally's but i'm pretty sure they sell them at Walmart and CVS, and with sensitive skin it may irritate so maybe try on a small spot first. And when you say "smooth face hair removal" are you talking about something similar to nair? if so then it is similar in the sense that it also removes the hair by the root

I'm puerto rican and my hair is THICK and VERY black and curly and my hair on my legs/armpits/face/general body hair (not my actually head of hair) and I need to shave everything very frequently, recently I found out about nair, and honestly, I would never use it on my legs cause it's basically shaving, and it burns a lot so I don't want red ugly legs, but on side burns, eyebrows and the rest it's AMAZING, I have wayyyy worse side burns and I just cut them really low till it feels spiky and use nair

i shaved my off hella long ago and i made them worse they're thicker now, and i'm in highschool so people are really judgemental. i've been looking for a way to remove them and i was thinking laser but that's expensive i'll do that later in life but right now i could use this method. thank you so much for uploading i feel like i'll be WAY more confident now wow, i love you haha

I wax as I hate the feel of prickles after a day of shaving hair. Wax hurts but it does make it grow thinner. One of the annoying things about being dark is all the hair. I use "Moom" wax strips the only ones that don't give me a rash.

If I had thick sideburns like you I would keep them, but I have sparce dark hair on my sides and it looks gross to me. I think my face looks cleaner and nicer without the hair.

Thanks for making this video it's a life saver I'm Hispanic with dark extra thick hair but really light skin so my sideburns show extra and I've tried everything from wax, plucking, and even electric razor shaving when I was younger talk about embarrassing can't wait to try this hopefully it'll work great for me too
