I'll be interested to hear how you go without a desk. Personally, I like having mine, but I don't teach from my desk because it's in a little office nook/alcove so it's not out in the room or in a convenient spot. Also, I think I would end up pretty achy to have to sit at a Year 3 height desk for any length of time!
Tricky move! I made the desk switch a few years ago. At first, my feet were tired by the end of the day, then I really enjoyed the extra space in the room. It did help me be a bit neater because there was no desk to leave things on. Hope it works for you!
A big move. Well done! I have a standing desk in one of my classrooms as well as a teacher desk. All my other classrooms just have a teacher desk. I sometimes sit, sometimes stand, sometimes walk around. It sure has been different this year not having my own exclusive classroom. I miss it :(
Love it! I Too many teachers, particularly in secondary, get stuck behind their desks. As a Drama teacher, I don't have that problem, but I am moving to a standing desk in my office next year.
