Getting sick in THAILAND | Phetchabun Hospital Visit

The last few weeks I haven't been feeling that great, so a trip to Phetcharat hospital here in Phetchabun was in order...
Lots of tests and a big prescription.... hopefully that will see off my problems... Next step is making sure I get reimbursed from my insurance company!

Thinking of moving to phetchabun next year .I am in Chiang Rai for the last 8 years ' Tired of the smoke that lasts fro 7 months.Cheers Mate

Wow, 7 months of bad air sounds pretty bad... I haven't been to Chiang Rai yet.... There's still spells of poor air quality here, but for a central area I guess it isn't too bad...

@@geoventure1012 i was going to ask you about the air quality .they have two rice crops a year here ,so two burns .plus the locals burn the Forrest to find mushrooms .where we live the power goes off every 2 weeks . Many times it is weekly .just in our suburb? It you come here feel free to say G'Day.

I read somewhere that the govt was going to give payments to encourage the farmers to stop the burnings... can't see much implementation of it yet... I'm lucky here in terms of power cuts, only had 2 this year and both were only around an hour....

If you are going to live here long term, may I suggest you both go to the Social security office and join paying volunteer payment of about 450 baht per month and after several months it will give you free medical, hospital treatment including transfers by ambulance to the major heart hospital and stays plus some dental treatment child payments etc. and later a pension, I had a heart attack and it covered everything including a stent? Phetchabun government hospital is an excellent establishment and the Phetcharat OK for a quick visit and as you found out will try anything to get you to stay and rack up a bill, plus any intense work will transport you to the government hospital to receive treatment, of course charging you extra for their transport. There are private rooms in the government hospital at a fraction of the charges too.

Interesting.... I'll have to look into that a bit more... Although for the forseeable I will still need worldwide health coverage, so I'll still be covered here in Thailand regardless...
