“Gly”: These miners must have dusted this mine with laughing powder before they left because we had a really good time exploring this mine. I wish I could have left in all the funny moments but I do “try” to keep the show family friendly. By the way... Randy... if your reading this... those brownies you shared with us for lunch were absolutely delicious! They had just the right amount of walnuts.
@@AbandonedandForgottenPlaces Are you sure there were only walnuts in those brownies? Perhaps you guys should have had a cup of all purpose coffee to smooth things out? The rides on that injured/dead miner's gurney cart were funny though - so glad you didn't need it for that purpose! Just kidding... more bad comedy!
Hello Gly that was an interesting mine there and I know now why mr.m and randy always was either in front of you or they stayed back behind is probably because of the barking spiders in there as well have a great weekend now and I'll be waiting on the next one here
Honestly, it’s impressive how fast you are professionalize your videos and especially the intro. It’s highly interesting and entertaining at the same time.
Best video yet. Really enjoyed the comic relief. It would be so awesome to go on an adventure with you crazy guys. That cart ride looked fun as well. Can't wait for the next exploration. No headaches, no freezing, and no leaking. Stay safe.
All the comments and subscribers is because you rock, your voice is calming and relaxing. Your educationally instructive, you keep the camera steady and move slow, your knowledge and experience comes thru and we all want to learn and share the adventures of the exploration with you guys. "You take us with you" To add your a great and funny team. I'm sure we all thank you guys. HOOAH
Two hundred THOUSAND mines. I had to stop and ponder that. History tells us about the gold and silver rushes, but this really gives it a sense of scale!
Saturdays are ‘mine days’ for me. Since Frank posts on Fridays, I wait until coffee #1 is in hand to start his. Today, as soon as his video finished and I refilled my coffee, your video popped up. In doing so, the timing, and thus my whole ‘mine day’ was made perfect! My day brightens when you hit post, Gly, and today, that’s why! Thanks again for your hard work! 🤟
I don't know why, but I rather enjoy the history part of the mines. Some of them have really surprised me on the size they are. Thank you so much for sharing.
Gly, I like how you pan real slow when you we get to look up or around. We don't get dizzy. I also like your constant commentary as you are walking. It is informative and most of all, it tells me how solid the rock is. If there is a good echo, then the rock is solid. If there is no echo, I start to worry if we will get out :-). You are starting to name the rock formations without saying what is in the rocks -- (gold, silver, lead, sulfur, tungsten, etc). Thank you for bringing us along on your explorations!.
love the drone shots and the intro...... that is what we have down in our drift mine.....used for lumber and drilling steel....gives ya an idea how much material the moved out of there ....we know the feeling
“Gly”: Thanks Jeff! I was having some fun with this intro. All that was missing was bluebirds and flying teacups. Lol! When you see something like that sitting on rails you just have to ride it! I mean... everybody has a little Indiana Jones in them don’t they??
I'm glad it takes all kind of people to make a world. I appreciate those who do what I haven't the nerve to do. If not for people like you no one like me would ever see the inside of a mine. You do a excellent job. I would have to manufacture a complaint should I wish to complain. Excellence!
My Daughter watched parts of your videos with me and she couldn't believe you were going in some of those places. She was just a little girl when I was in the mines back in 1984. She was pretty impressed.
Thank you for recording these adventures slowly and carefully. i feel like that's the reason for your channel's success. And feel free to keep up the fun shananighans to liven up the experience. And thank you for allowing us all to explore these abondoned mines in our couch or chair.
Again Mr Gly, another excellent trip through the abandoned mines. Thanks to you Mr M and Randy you’ve brought us to place’s no one ever would. Can’t believe you’ve been doing this for over 30 years! Incredible. There are so many place’s that would be the stopping point for me and it would probably be right out side old Bob’s door. It’s not the size of balls you guys have it’s in your character and demeanor. What a awesome trait! Can’t wait till next weekend. You guys are the man, no doubt about it! Take care.
The production quality of these videos are on par with big budget cable TV shows. In my opinion one of the best channels on RU-vid. Keep doing what your doing Gly!
“Gly”: Thank you very much! You’ll notice that lately I’ve been making my videos around 45 minutes long and that’s because when the day comes when I sell my content to the Discovery Channel for millions of dollars they can then add commercials so that each episode will come in at right about one hour. If that happens I’m inviting all of my subscribers to the largest bar in America. Drinks are on me! Lol 🍻
Just subscribed to your channel. Really enjoy the video and commentary makes me feel like your talking with just us friends. Live in Placerville and am intrigued with the history of mining and explore western Nevada but too afraid to go in so your videos do it form me.
Proud to call you my friend. We will meet up someday so I can thank you in person. Love the videos, they keep getting better and better. Nevada is a treasure trove of our old mining history, and you do a great job of sharing it with us. I cannot believe somebody abandoned that homemade timber car. Great mine gentlemen, thank you.
I can't remember exactly when I subscribed to your channel but it was really early on. It's great to see how much it's grown so fast. I love your channel, I love your guests, I love old Bob.
Once again Gly another great find 👍. Thank you for the effort you go to to film and light up these mines you go into , its like we are walking behind you . Pete Australia.
I really enjoy your videos. Im a valley resident and have many fond memories of exploring the area mines with my dad and brothers. Although, your experience and knowledge put ours to shame! Keep em comin’!
I love your video of the old mines. My dad was a miner in Arizona. Then on to Indonesia for 20yrs there. So I am fascinated by these. We love to explore together sometimes. Great fun and adventure for us. I’ve been learning so much! Thank you for this channel and taking us on these adventures with you.
I think there is something truly special about being underground. Whether that be the mystery, or danger, or some other thing that excites us. I think its incredibly fascinating. I'm hoping on completing my major in mine goelogy, and can't wait to have the knowledge to explain the world beneath our feet
Back in the 70's at a trucking company I worked for as a mechanic we would put the liquid starting fluid (ether) on rags and drape them around the air cleaner to help keep the diesel engines running till they warmed up on very cold nights. We would use the spray ether to get them started but once they were running the spray would cause them to over rev. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to them every Saturday.
I grew up in Northern Nevada by Winnemucca. I use to explore mines to a small degree and they were old ones too. This was around 84 when I graduated HS. My brother and brother in law once lowered their little brother (me) down a vertical shaft and I explored one level and found a bunch of empty TNT boxes in excellent shape. That was nutz! I was 14 or 15..maybe younger. LOL. There were so many great mines to explore then. Lot's of the old mine equipment then also. I want to go back and explore and metal detect so bad again, but Northern Idaho if good also for I live close to Orofino..another excellent mining area.
Hey Gly, awesome as usual. Glad to see you, Mr. M, and Randy having such a good time. I think the brownies contributed to the good time, lol. Looking forward to next week already. You three take care and see you soon.
hi Gly love your show, that bore hole was done by what they call reverse circulation drilling where he cuttings go up the center of the drill pipe thru a inner pipe and are channeled into a cyclone and into a divider where the cuttings are taken out and tested . all done with air pressure, thats why you had that cone of material on the floor, once the bit started into the rock again it would start going back thru the center of the pipe. dave
“Gly”: Ahhh... I see. That was an interesting find. I’ve seen allot of core drilling holes in these mines but never one quite like that. For just a moment there I thought we may have stumbled upon some sort of termite mound.
Nice intro. The Temple of Doom, Jones movie ride, funny. Lots of stopes and the incline, wonderful mine. lots of ore taken from here. Just a small thrill ride out.
Lots of rainbow colors along that adet. No...not "U guys", but "you folks" remember...ha,ha. That was a great geological feature, showing that ridge from the outside. Thanks. At 34:20, that deffinitly was a "don't touch nothin" area! Pretty loose material. ("better Bob") tee, hee. Just so impressive getting to see a visable vein within a hill/mt. Nice drone work and the editing to include it. You produce great videos. Thanks for the views and entertainment.
The quality of shooting and editing is top notch!!! You have the voice and attitude that also makes it fun to watch. I can tell you enjoy exploring these mines and it makes for great videos. Ive only been a sub for a couple of months but I've watched most of your videos already. Keep up the great work
