You all made it. I always loved London. It's going to be interesting to see the change of lifestyle, with food, weather, getting around and the cost. Love your videos.
you're making me homesick! Fish and chips!! can't get that here in China, well not what I would eat anyhow. For grocery shopping £60 will go a look further at Lidl or Aldi, I mean a lot lot further!
Tesco has online ordering and delivery... if your curious what food costs in the UK you can get a good idea from their website. They have a a lot of products from other countries as well. I'm from the U.S. and they have a lot of products / Brands I'm familiar with. Delivery is a flat fee of $5/month. I'm pretty sure there is a minimum order per delivery though.
How crazy! From the first few clips I noticed you live a few minutes from me! I am also a software developer and will be hopefully leaving London soon. Thank you for the inspirational videos. Now I am going to enjoy the rest of the video. I am only a few seconds in but had to comment ;)
You did well on your food shopping budget! My top tip is to go to supermarket on Monday/Tuesday as a lot of food is at a reduced price! Hope you have a nice time in London. Are you planning a meet up with your London subbers?
What programing languages should I learn to be able to become a digital nomad? I have started learning Java and I have a little bit of experience with HTML and Css. Thanks, Great show!
Hey Chris. Pleased that you're settling into London nicely. I work in London Bridge so I am interested to find how you get on in the City. Do you plan to work at workspaces nearer the city or a little further out? As travel can be quite pricey here. Did you say you were staying for 3 months?
How funny, I knew you were in a Tesco because I've shopped at the one on Ratchadaphisek in BKK, and I've never seen a super market anywhere in the world (I'm from CA.) that has a ramp style escalator in the center.
Hey Chris, Are you going to be staying at Robs place the entire time or will you get accommodation of your own in London? If so it'd be good to know how much that's gonna cost :)
I'm also going from Thailand to London in early-May for 3 months. It would be a shame if you completely skip over the accommodation issue since in London that's 90% of DN's challenge. It must be one of the most difficult cities in the world for reasonable short term stays.
Benji Moreira he's probably not going to cover it because 1) he'll only be there until June. and 2) he already mentioned in the comments that there's basically no way around finding short term apartments unless you couchsurf .
Hey chris i have been watching you videos from quite few months now, i was wondering what web development skills do you use in you workflow, to things done. i hope my comment will be caught by your eyes. thanks. :)
HI! Just wondering what are the options if you break or lose your laptop in southeast asia. There seems to be no Apple store in Chiang Mai or anywhere else in that area. Are there alternative options rathe than buy a new one online? Thanks!!
I think I would have waited another week to experience Songkran in Thailand, unless you had visa issues. Enjoy your travels. Just don't fly United Airlines, or you may be beaten, and dragged off the plane.... lol
Chris, Glad to see you got there ok and are getting settled in it looks like you have a nice place to stay at. I was wondering when you were going to post from London and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go. I was surprised you got so much food for what you paid. Is it a lot cheaper to live their than in the U.S.? It still must be sticker shock compaired to Chanig Mai cost. I enjoyed watching this, keep em coming!
Hi Matt. Hoping to spend next week working from cafes and coworking spaces and exploring a bit more of London. I don't know what the cost is compared to US but it's definitely more expensive than Chiang Mai.
Matt R most of the US would be cheaper (substantially) than London. London prices you could compare to central Manhattan, indeed I found central Manhattan surprisingly inexpensive for a lot of stuff particularly restaurants so maybe even worse than that. The rest of the UK is however much cheaper than London and most of the rest of Europe (particularly south and east, but also the likes of Germany) is much cheaper than the UK. UK is of course a bit more affordable for yanks since they voted to jump off the cliff and tanked their currency.

Ha! You're staying near to the place where I work. Nice. :)
*WOW!!* How awesome is your girlfriend's relative to let you guys stay with him for 3 weeks!!! If you had to pay for a Hotel or even an Airbnb that would hit you guys for at least $2500 (usd), right??? Have a great time and say hello to the Queen for me, CHEERS!!!!
OK - isnt the digital nomad dream all about *escaping* cold, overpriced cities like London (or Melbourne ..) for the tropics ?? Even here in Oz, I can see the mercury starting to drop in the southern cities as we near May - the thought of living anywhere that has nighttime temps below 20 deg C literally leaves me cold ;)
Chris do you know the Gorails channel ... He does video training. Basically some videos are on youtube for free, but others are part of a videosubscription (19$ a month), which is not free.. The point is, we are webdevelopers, you need to host this staff on your website not hear! It is not paying you the right share having it hear. 2 things about your website: 1. I can't find anymore the subscription email field 2. Try selling that book. The traveling videos are fun and motivating to work hard, but... What about all this interviews.. My opinion is that you are getting too generic. You know that coding pays the day so focus on that (for ex. yes we could all work for 1 $ an hour on Upwork, but why when we can launch our own Android/IOS App???!! )... 3. Sell that Book . Sell it ... Use your audience to sell your book.. Focus on mentoring people to learn to code.. That is how you can sell the book ... 4. Drive your audience to your website.. Show this videos on your page clearly so that we do not come back to youtube to see it.. The Ads on your website pay way better and some people may think about a monthly subscription 5 Find some sponsor. You have tons of Digital Nomads that watch your video so find something that they may interested in purchasing.. for example, if you do not have paying sponsors, help advertise some Digital Nomad Startup and get some of their shares.. Right now you are not doing any advertisement (except those interviews maybe..) 6 27.131 Subscribers and that means that if you can get that traffic on your website could be gold mine ... so yes.. you either already rich or just doing something wrong... Still also think about what you are doing, move from the generic staff to the very useful staff that could get people pay a 1 euro per month subscription...
hey so i would like to ask something, i watched one of your videos last week about to start your business selling on amazon. i have a goal of six months to make this dream come a reality but i dont have the funds to do the amazon thing if you could give me a pointer on where i can find an investor that would be amazing. thanks or just some advise on what i should do for a beginner that would work to thanks!
