There will undoubtedly be some questions regarding the availability of starter sets at the moment. What I’ll say is that the lack of starter sets at this time of the year is a pattern that has occurred every year for the last two years and often also happens every 6 months or so while GW get back on top of their reprinting. Don’t be discouraged! The sets aren’t being discontinued and often these return to the shelves around Feb/March. Don’t panic or go feeding the eBay scalpers 😂

Recently ordered a Warlord Titan and a Reaver titan because I thought the kits looked fun to build and it'd be the only way I'd ever get my hands on them otherwise. I'll have to keep an eye out for any AT starter sets at my local gameshops, maybe poke around to see if there's any interest in getting into the game.

Extremely useful tips and very timely. Glad I stumbled across doing a few of the advised steps purely by accident (that warlord titan was too cool not to buy). Looking forward to walking to war without those pesky little tanks getting under foot.

Just starting Titanicus along with Legions Imperialis. I have been wanting to get into it for years, but never pulled the trigger. Pretty sad I missed out on the Precept Maniple Battleforce... Great start guide! That will help a bunch

I'd certainly sell this as much for folks (like me) who are fully committed to Legion Imperialis and are figuring that once you've got terrain and some titans for LI then I'm equally set to play AT and it adds options for different games to play, different scopes for my games - for literally minimal additional cost.

Can I ask the veterans to take one for the team and lay off the starter sets for a while so some new blood can actually get into the game! GW seems to produce 10 boxes every 6 months and they sell out in 7 seconds.

Just got me a starter set (payed full price for it, but im in australia so stock is crazy limited) so perfect time for this video lol. I was confused about the seemingly out of print "Adeptus Titanacus the Horus Heresy Rulebook" but it seems like i dont need to worry about picking that up! Kinda sad they havent re released the warmaster or warbringer titan yet. Hopefully soon!

Thanks for this instructive video! :) I just started AT with the starter box, a warlord, and ordered the Open War Engine card pack as per your recommendations. Besides the Loyalist/Traitor books, are there other things I should get, like the stratagems packs?

Don’t bother with the strat cards, campaign compendium updates the rules for knight and also adds custom legios. That’s a good next step.

Enjoyed the vid, should be useful for newbies! On your ‘Avoid’ segment though, you missed out what is the biggest (imo) reason not to bother with the strat packs - they don’t cover all the available stratagems! Even with a bit of errata I’d buy the packs if they covered everything available, but they don’t so it’s a hard no from me.

Good point! Most of the rest of them do come in the starter box set but I haven’t done a reconciliation between all the packs and the list. I know for certain that some strats in those boxes don’t even exist any more like the Krytos legio strats!

Didn't realize I was watching an older video when I made this comment but I will comment again. I just ordered the starter box and got the campaign compendium plus loyalist and traitor book. I will pick up those cards too. Just getting into epic with Legion Imperialis! I got the great slaughter book on order and want to be able to play at both game sizes! My question is, should I get another starter box or just wait for the bundles they said would come out and pick up a couple of those? I have a bunch of war hounds, 1 reaver and 1 nemesis titan I got second hand. I put in an order with the LGS for the psy titan for whenever it comes back. Anyway thanks for the guide! Jumping to the next video.

When the maniple boxes drop they will certainly be good value for money, however the starter box is never a bad additional purchase. Two starter boxes and a warlord allow you to play a large percentage of the maniples in the game

There is an app for titanicus that lets you build maniples track damage and weapons etc and has all weapon cards, dont waste money buying them

Apps are fine, but not everyone has access to a tablet. Also a lot of tournaments and events will insist on physical terminals as the information is more transparent to their opponents. However now that the new boxes include things like terminals, the extra expense isn’t quite so necessary. For pick up games however you are absolutely right and it isn’t a necessity.

Do you need the allegiance books if you bought all the original campaign books?

The legios have had a lot of updates, not all but a lot were updated when the allegience books were released. They also introduced universal and allegiance specific wargear. If your a traitor it also introduced the rules for mutations
