Hey guys this video took a ton of effort to create! If you guys enjoyed it and would be willing to buy me a coffee I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks guys! www.buymeacoffee.com/JakeWipp
The H & V Anchor tip is phenomenal. We all know that, why it's used, but sometimes don't understand "when" it's used. You just made Resolve text editing way easier!!! Thank you for the tutorial! Love from India!❤
HEY. I need a favor, lol. Can you watch Paul ET's video about "Netflix" and make a tutorial or just tell me how to do the line animations and how the camera follows the whole composition in Davinci Resolve?
Thanks a lot. Great tutorial. Did learn a lot. Sometimes a bit fast, so it was hard to follow, but luckily there's a pause button. Unfortunately, I can't get further than animating the first word. It seems like in Davinci 17.4. studio 17.4.5. nodes working different. For example, connecting to nodes doesn't make automatically a merge node. I thought, no problem, I'll add one myself. But that works just for the first word. Starting the second with this method I'll get some wired output. Does anybody know a solution? Maybe the tutorial needs an update to work with Version 17.4.5.
I'm very new to Davinci Resolve, so I have a question. What are the connection points in Fusion when there is an existing background (a still photo, logo, etc) or a video?
Hi there! What can I do if Follower doesn't delay the text? Do I have to put add it to the text before I do anything or is there some sort of order of operations I need to follow?
Hey! I'm actually having the same problem too. When I add the delay to the follower, it only changes when the text appears rather than the effects applied to it (such as the wiggle on the word awesome).
Are you still looking for an answer? I had the same problem and finally found the solution, but the most important thing is that I understood what was going on with the Follower. So you let me know ...
@@superblaster2 The problem is that you can go messy with the controls easily . The Inspector "Modifiers" and "Tools" have nearly the same controls. If you double click on "Follower" you will see that little icons that are the same that you found in "Tools". You will see that the "shading" option is available in "Tools" and in the "Follower" too. Most likely, you animated the "shading" of "Tools" and then activated the "Follower", and so nothing happens. So, after adding the follower to your text, you must be sure of making animations in the "shading" icon belonging to the "Follower", and then you will see the results.
Coming from After Effects, one issue I’m facing is the fact that text doesn’t remain vectorized like it does in AE when I want to do a global scale up. Like in AE I can create a null object and link it to all the text layers, scale it up and everything remains crisp, but using a transform node to globally scale up my text in Fusion becomes blurry. Is there any way around this?
I wonder. If you do all the text stuff in 3D space, it should be more resolution independent until it gets to the camera and render node. I wonder because, there's probably a tradeoff in playback speed as it usually is with Fusion's 3D pipeline. But you should be able to do stuff in the unlimited 3D space and even do more fun depth-compositions with the texts. Even add in stuff like depth of field and particles and 3D models. Just turn off lighting and shadows to keep it as flat shaded as you want. And you can keep the background being a flat 2D plane behind the transparent 3D render if you want.
The problem with this guide is that it's not specific and clear enough. For a getting started, this is too complicated and adds multiple features that complicate the fundamental process that prevents learning kinetic typography. Specifically the video doesn't say what frames to do the keyframing for each specific node. And each additional effect added like the bouncing just hinders the actual learning how to keyframe the text and positioning and how to hide the text with a mask.
Actually he is not using multiple features it is just the basic methods to create and edit videos in fusion page. If you feel that you are not able to understand I recommend to you the "casey faris" youtube channel. This is actually a guy and he has explain the fusion in by far the most easiest way. I have also learned fusion from his channel
@@JakeWipp Hello again, sorry for the inconvenience. I am struggling trying to find a way to modify it's pivot point. I found the setting in fusion->inspector->tools->transform. But when I change it, it doesn't seem to have any effect on it's rotation, and I also don't see the circle in the middle (I'm assuming that's the pivot point) moving at all.
