Okay. Now make a range extender or a better/ pro version controller and you're gold! That and let us adjust the return to home on battery percentage. Scares the crap out of me when I'm over water and that it starts counting down! Would love to tell it to notify me or come home at a predetermined percentage.
It would be great if you went into more detail with your videos . Also how about one with the phone connected to the beacon and then to the Skydio 2. Also does it let you know when the battery is getting low and you should return the Skydio 2 back , and can you change the return to home to where the controller or beacon is and not where you took off from ?
Hey Barry, thanks for your feedback. This is just the first of two episodes covering the Controller to help new pilots get started. The next episode will go into a bit more detail about flying Skydio 2 with the Controller. If you would like to learn about flying with the Beacon, check out episodes 3 & 4 here: ru-vid.com/group/PLBWSebOmZerkFergPf3yTnnEuuarikc2X The Skydio 2 app will display how much battery you have, and will count down to let you know how much flight time you have left. Yes, you can change the return to home to fly to either the launch point or the control device. You will be given the option when you hit the RTH button.
NB -Android phones should have developer mode enabled, and usb debugging for connection between controller and mobile device... at least with a Samsung Galaxy 8. Without this done, the phone will go into a black screen and need to be charged before you can turn it on again.
Kinda similar issue with my LG v30 but nothing worked it (the phone) just kept prompting me to make a usb selection but it never stuck... I just got a V60 last week as I was long over due for an upgrade anyway and it was plug n play =/ damn older tech!
Why didn't you guys cover the return to home feature on the controller or in the app? Thats like the only thing I'm concerned about and making sure that's set properly?
Hey Farmventures, we will be covering RTH in a bit more detail in the next video, and will also cover it fully in our app-overview episode (coming soon). However, the RTH is really simple, once you hit the home button on the controller or on the phone you can select whether or not Skydio 2 will return to the launch point or the control device.
Could you answer a question for me if you're checking these comments. I've only used the controller once so far and while going up a gradual slope it look like it was going to slam into the ground if I didn't keep manually raising it.. So with the controller it's not going to avoid the ground during controller flight ? Or am I asking it to be real idiot proof. LOL. I know it does have the 8-ft floor in motion track with the beacon. Thanks
Hey Will! The ground is actually incredibly easy for Skydio 2 to see and avoid. You can fly straight towards the ground of a slope and you should be good. You can also leave the height floor on while flying with the controller if that helps you feel a bit more secure.
@@Skydio that's great to know. I just got it and I don't want to destroy it. LOL. I did contact someone there when I first got it because like I said it look like it was going to hit the ground and they told me the high floor only works during motion tracking. Just double checking. I'll try it over a real soft grass. Lol
@@Skydio To late I crashed it. Just kidding. LOL Yeah I was just trying it and it looked too close for comfort for me with the controller. Had to stop though it's getting too freaking cold out. I lived in Redwood City for 50 years, Wish I was back there right now. LOL Flight School videos are great . Keep them coming and Thanks again for the info/help.
@@WildBillRidesAgain something else to keep in mind that I've learned flying a couple drone is that the crop of the image/sensor makes things look closer than they actually are....assuming u were flying just off watching the screen vs VLOS
It seems I am only able to upload 4.29GB's of my last video to my computer. Is there a setting im missing? Both of my last videos are cut short, am I trying to upload too much video/footage? Help me out. Thanks!
Not working like that here. I turn Wi-Fi off on phone and open Skydio app, it says it wants to connect to drone Wi-Fi and turns it back on. I then get a message saying “Connect phone to controller”.
Question: not really controller related but sort of. Am I supposed to do something specific to get the skydio2 to lock on to case for landing? It seems hit or miss when trying to land. I get the case aligned best I can in the camera view...but then the drone will sometimes not lock on and will land off target.
Hey Arron, Skydio 2 should lock on automatically as long as you initiate the landing where the drone can see the case. We recommend piloting it directly above the case at about 10-15 feet for best performance.
You don,t tell me anything worth hearing or seeing! My skydio does not operate like yo show . It is a real piece of shit.. Had it for over a week and still no flight. Wish I never bought the skydio2. I think I will send it back!
