I called the library vision a “Billy’s folly”, not to be sarcastic or disrespectful, but because his idea was so “out there”. the world needs more Billy’s, who are visionary, bold, and courageous, who swim against the norm. If I were his parent I’d be so proud of him.
Billy, thank you for acknowledging my comment regarding "Big Foot' or "Sasquatch". You get so many comments everyday, I didn't think you saw it. It's pretty amazing. I've been with you from the start, so it means something to me when you mentioned my comment today. Thank you!
I missed your comment and was about to leave a comment today- so Caroline do you think Sasquatch is carrying a block of granite or a tray full of Squatch size beer steins? Lol. Or what?
@@jeb3415 Yes, he's definitely carrying something. It looks like that block of granite Billy pulled out of the floor in today's video. He must have hid it there, many years ago. We could make up a whole story about what he's carrying and where he's going. Lots of fun!
That messy type of filling in with cement and rocks seems to be one of the tougher tasks. Mick managing it is really admirable. Great assistance from Yanis too!
Yannis doesn’t need a gym membership. He uses every muscle in his body every day. Mick is a gem! Best idea to make access to your gallery safe! Simple dishes can be so expensive!
it's so nice to have Alex recording again--we get so much more content and explanations from you as to what you're doing and why--Thanks Alex! Welcome back, Yanis!
Billy, I love what you’re doing. Just a thought…..if you’re going to set up a commercial kitchen, you might look at restaurant supply houses. I love V & B but those are all going to break at some point. There is pretty nice white dishware and glasses, etc. that is less expensive and you can replace easier. Think about it! Deborah (Interior designer)
When I first heard you speak about your library plans I honestly didn't think it would happen for another 5 years or so, if it all, because it's such an ambitious idea. But here were are a year or two after and you're through the majority of the headaches. Congrats Billy on actually sticking with your vision and creating something that'll be architectually beautiful when you're done.
With those absolute massive size of lumber you are using on those short lengths of floor boards….one noggin is way plenty. Abit overkill. People in the comments are not always correct. As you say, go with your gut. Its your project. Been with you all since the beginning and more. Thanks ever so much.
Yes your way after the regulations so hard to undo . In Canada they want to see every step not a step without or they will tell you to show your work. So hard
@@pmichelerowes3700, my solarium addition in the back of the house, was inspected and approved at every step and still the room has been detaching from the home wall from the first year of build. The windows and drywall is so messed up! Even the air space in the ceiling is missing. The guy my hubby hired got cash money for the blunder. Overkill is way better than sloppy.
@@pmichelerowes3700in Norway we have to hand in all the papers with all the measurements ,before we can do anything . Then it has to be approved . I don’t understand how other countries do the approval after people already have started the work and then might have to tear everything down 😮 But then again.. here we fill our cars up first and go inside to pay afterwards. Our society is very much built on trust. I know that’s hard for many other countries to understand .. I have an American friend who was shocked by the “fill up first and pay later”. He said if that was in the US people would fill up everything they owned and drive away without paying and sell their gas to others 😂😂😂😂
As they are using the steels from the original spans the I beem dictate the size of joists used ,way bigger then building regs but using smaller section timbers would be hard to make a rigid structure.also the floor has to support the saggy beams on ground and first floor.
They must change Bob the Builder to Billy the Builder. Billy, you and Michael almost look like twins these days. Your dad is an amazing person and worker at his age and Yanis is such an asset. Just love to watch you.
Today is 3rd July... my 59th run on this planet. Its a sad day as my beautiful cat is taking her last breaths. Its very unexpected, she isnt an old girl, only 6. I came here to cheer up and lose myslef in ur reno's. I failed, I heard Yannis voice with his beautiful goodmorning and lost it. Keep on noggining Billy, you wont regret it. Overkill is better than not.
My husband and I love coming home from a very busy day at work and sitting down for supper and watching your videos! We wish we could have Yanis with us! What a wonderful kid he is! Such a hard worker! Love your Dad too! Your library will be so beautiful!
Billy, it may be beneficial to buy one more box of dishes as over the years something may break or be misplaced and that pattern may not be produced anymore. Also if yor mother or sister can find flannel on a bolt have them cot out circles of each plate to slide between each plate to avoid scratches and chips. It is a game changer.
Same with the glasses. Years down the road if you need a replacement, they might not make it. Also handy should you have a slightly larger group to pull a few extra for the event.
I cant wait for all those institutional walls and doors are gone. They remind me of visiting my cousin in the mental hospital in the 70’s. Billy you are doing an amazing job.
Welcome back, Yanis! We missed you. Billy missed you more -- he told this to us, a few times. 😊 You deserved time in Paris, with friends. Lovely. & Simon is due back soon. Question: do your friends watch The Pethericks? 😊 From an old lady in Southern California, USA.
I love the white service pieces. I always thought the food you are serving should always be the star. I hope there will always be a place for me at Sunday roast dinners❤ I love cooking for groups( hint hint)😉 Is that the number of family?. 24 seems perfect😉 But I dislike washing dishes😂
I could hear children’s voices but didn’t get to see them. Hello Earnest and Archie, all the way from Canada 🇨🇦. Billy the floor is great and going to be thick! I didn’t realize how massive it was going to be. Welcome back Yannis, hope you enjoyed Paris. Just so you know, Billy missed you ☺️
Hahahaah 😅😂 Sasquash, Yeti Boogie man….. who appears to be carrying some box in front of him! 😂😅😅 And I must say NO WAY ANYONE CAN SAY THAT CONVENT is not looking SMASHING! I LOVE IT Billy! You add so much love to it! Blessings as always to all your helpers, your wonderful sweet family and we so adore your dear dear Dad! 💕💕💙💙💙🙏🏽🙏🏽🤲🤲📿📿🥰🥰😊😊
Welcome back, Yanis! Billy missed you….and so did we!! It is amazing the progress you have made, Billy! It’s fun seeing your excitement building for what is to come. Your dad works like a young man still! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
I have found from my own experience with tongue and grove floor laying not to screw down the side where the next piece fits until after you fit it. It makes your installation experience much easier.
One of the Vanderbilt kitchens in Newport, Rhode Island, U.S.A. has a gallery. It was used by Mrs. Vanderbilt to give orders to her staff. Maybe it would be nice for Gwen!
You are really knocking this out quickly Billy and team! I am so crazy proud of all the accomplishments that you have made, you should be very proud of yourselves as well. Well done!
Billy you're always a joy for me to watch! Please run the dishes through the dishwasher before putting them away, youll not only have clean dishes but youll give the dishwasher a workout too. As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
It’s wonderful to watch a team of people build something, and work together, and be kind to one another, when there are darker situations occurring in the world today. Thanks for the positive videos!
I’m so glad to see a sub floor that you can walk on !!! Much safer than straddling on beams 😫😳🙏 It’s all coming together, Billy !! I’m so proud of you ❤
Billy and team, when you put the cabinets in the library, please put a couple of glass fronted ones. These can display the finds from the convent, say what it is, age and where found, would make a great talking point. I love little curiosities, and there history. Cheers Sue from Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
The progress has been amazing. Once you all get started on something, you just get it done. I really expected this library to take a huge amount of time, but you are already so far along that I am shocked. Keep up the fantastic work, and we will be seeing a gorgeous new library in no time!!
Billy. I am really enjoying watching your daily videos. I look forward all day to sit quietly and learn so many things from you. I go to bed thinking Oh! Billy will be hammering and fixing things whilst I sleep. Looking forward to tomorrows episode. I find your commentary and advise very educational. I have been with you all right through this and I shall continue to watch. Best wishes to you all. Be careful please. Greetings from Australia 🙋🏼
It's so nice to hear that you read the comments. I love this channel. You have inspired me to tackle so many projects around my house and I've actually been hired to do jobs for friends. If only I had your tools, they are so nice! I have mostly Ryobi and they work great for me. Thank you for the inspiration!
Billy when you said tunnel and groove we all knew what you meant and if you hadn’t said anything we wouldn’t have even thought anything about it. I’m 70 and can’t even call my kids by the correct name.🥴🤪😂
Slowly but surely the convent kitchen is getting kitted out. The gallery floor look great Billy and the section you, Dad and Yanis secured at the entryway is excellent. I can’t resist a man in a hard hat wearing a tool belt. Crack o. 🇨🇦🙏❤️
Bless your dad. He's the sweetest. His poor knees after kneeling must be so sore. I can't kneel for too long and i'm half his age, hehe. The convent is really coming together. I can't wait to see the finish of the library!
Billy, your vision and execution for the Convent is remarkable. I hope we will have the fortune to experience it, in person, in the future. Until then, we will be with you on RU-vid, enjoying it every day❣️
