I have a lot of high end machines such as etrac ctx 3030 spectra v3i mx sport and Nokta impact. I must say the whites v3i is the most in-depth machine out there. Everything you can think of customizing can be done. It’s actually mind boggling how much you can change or set. It takes a lot of reading and swing time to really understand how to tune it. I would also recommend downloading the advanced posts book version 2.0 which is a collaboration of hard core user tips and tricks.
Whites Electronics is overall the best customer backed detector company on the market. I bought my V3 a while back and when the V3I spectrum came out a year or so later after I made my purchase - I contacted Whites and for $25.00 Whites upgraded mine and returned it in just a few days. Great Customer Service and a fantastic detector.
Such a shame that White's has gone. I love my V3i. I found my best finds with this machine here in the UK. I just hope that Garrett takes the technology and updates it. It was so ahead of its time. Other producers herald their multi frequency WiFi enabled machines but White's were there back in 2009. The colour display is the best out there. Even today there isn't a machine with a display to match it. And yes I have had the CTX. I would think that an updated chipset and more modern design would put it at the forefront again. Thanks for the very informative video. 👍
Love your video, had my V-3i for years and still feel like the dummy swinging the machine. Lol I learn something new every time I watch a video from someone like you. Thanks.
Great video. I was able to take your suggested settings and it works much better for gold hunting. It eliminates many of the false signals so you can focus on digging real targets.
I think where the V3i has got an edge over a lot of other machines is the ability to customize the tones either with single VDIs or ranges of them. I think this is an understated attribute of the V3i. I have mine set up into multiple ranges and within each range, I have certain tones for high priority VDIs. I once lied to a co-worker when she wiggled off a square tab on a Coke can. I told her that Ducks choke on those. I'm sorry, I have to stop people from this practice. Thanks Ed!
That meteorite program is damn handy for cleaning up after a construction project, particularly after tearing off a roof. Since a flat tire costs us $150 plus a lost customer, that program has made me more money than all the coins and jewelery combined.
I stand by whites gear for the best longest lasting gear. I also really like Minelab stuff. That saying I now only have whites TDI, MXT and V3I. I have not used the V3I for prospecting but am going to try it out this season out west. The MXT and TDI are great. I even use the TDI for coin shooting and makes a great beach hunter. All detectors have a learning curve. Equinox seems to be the hot one right now. I might pick up the 800. However you do not get the comparison screens on any metal detector except the V3I.
It will be hard to beat the White's Spectra V3i. 1.) I have added the Equinox 800 to my V3i. I believe it will compliment the V3i. 2.) I have seen a video that a representative for White's held the White's above his head and dropped it on the concrete, and he picked it up, and it was still operable. He allowed it to roll off his hood and it hit the concrete and still worked. I am sure it was not the V3i. 3.) The White's Spectra V3i has a beautiful graph in color for simultaneous freq./kHz both in search, and pinpoint. Other detectors you just have to guess what the freq./kHz is. 4.) White's Spectra V3i, has normalized their freq./kHz. 5.) The quality craftsmanship is obvious. The White's Spectra V3i will still bring almost as much as it did new. I will never sell mine. I have just added the 12" Concentric LTD, and the 4" x 6" DD Eclipse Sharp Shooter. With the coil that came with it I should be all right?
Do you have some kind of a step by step manual for V3i owners to be able to use your setups like you are showing in this video. I think since you know all of these settings so well it would help us and we would be willing to pay for a manual like what I just described. I would buy it.
The only way I can get the machine to reject the proper VDI is to set the search audio to "DISCRIMINATION". when I do that, then I get a real low tone on the good targets regardless of the tone I chose to hear. If I chose "ALL METAL" or "MIXED MODE", or "STEREO MIXED" , then I get the proper tone but the VDI reject does not work. What am I doing wrong?
So I watched your video and I made the same program you did I loved it but what I did was I went in to load and save and then click on library and that did not check off use library name and he could enter which then gave me a keyboard to type in goal then I clicked enter and I had both programs gold and meteorite I use the goal program and put in all of your sensitivity and discrimination etc. worked great and I still have my meteorite program which I’ll probably never use
What's happening , I own the v3i and found it to be a detector that's one of the most difficult to use . I own black widow headphones, gray ghost headphones and my machine does not like them . I've spent hours watching the videos and read the manual many times but yet I can't get it to work consistently. I parked it for a long time and just recently tried to hunt with it . I'm not a beginner in the hobby but this machine is so advanced and the set up time is crazy difficult. My ctx, xterra 705, At gold seem to get the job done . My question is when trying new headphones with no success is it common for this machine to reject other brand headphones. Thanks Big Mex
How's this program do on the beach, and is there any tweets you need to do to the program for the beach. Thanks. Ps. Great family friendly video. Yours truly Charles Glisson Jr
I set up my v3i per your gold video. I was using my 10" DD coil. I am getting a lot of interference with the 22.5 Frequency. My gain is at 10. But I turned it down to 3. Still have the problem. Also can you write out and clearly list the accepted and rejected VDI numbers. Help. Thanks
CoolBrittany90210 Hi! Yes when in the field I will operate RX Gain from 10-14 however for purposes of the video and interface in the house I have it at 1 for stability.
@@ECROPSKI67 I watched your video at least one additional time after I wrote that and then I finally caught it second time I watched it. Sorry about the dumb question. This will be my fifth metal detector, the whites V3i, and am looking forward to running it on South Florida beaches with your program. I expect to make a second program for silver, using unnormalized VDI values , which we should give me more separation on my valid targets. Opinion?
Only question I have is why when would you prefer to run all three frequencies as your program settings run so well with just one? Also will your setting S run on salty beach areas as I hunt on them so often and if not what modification should I do to it to be able to just hunt gold bands?
Are used talk to text there’s a couple weird things in my last comment but I hope you can understand what I was talking about Like where it says goal instead of gold
