With our mowing season right around the corner, I need to do some repairs to the plastic on my John Deere LT160 Riding Mower. I'm replacing the hood hinge and hood top on my mower because it broke last season. With this replaced, I just need to get it serviced like I did in this video. • Get your Riding Mower ...

My hood looks exactly like that. Same bend in the crack and everything lolol To keep from snapping in two or not being functional, I "zip tie stitched" it, put a mild adhesive inside the crack, and piece of gorilla tape on the bottom side covering the crack. Solid as can be! I'll be doing the hinges this week! 👏 👏

My John Deere LT160 is 16 years old. Earlier this week, I compared it to new tractors at the local John Deere dealership. All I can say is they don't build them like they did when I bought mine in 'O7.

Nice. I think I would leave off the John Deere stickers and use stickers saying, HEMI POWERED, and let you neighbors question your sanity. LOL

That is if the parts ever get ready to play in for pickup. My cousin was nice enough to order the parts for me about a week ago and I AM STILL WAITING FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad. Back in business. I thought you were going to fix the crack. But materials and your time VS. the price of the piece, it was not worth it. I have seen alot of cracked hoods on JD lawn mowers. Glad there is alot of after market replacements to keep them running.

I would have liked to fix the crack but just like you mentioned, the time investment vs. cost of a new one really didn't make sense to me. It would be a great chance to use a plastic welder or fiberglass resin but since I don't have either on hand already, replacement just seemed like the right choice for me.

Don't apologize for buying Chinese parts. I bought the bumper for 50$ delivered. The dealer was 200$ and likely comes from China

I know. I'd really like to use factory parts, but the cost difference is crazy. Its just not something I can justify on this older mower.

You linked the decals twice. Can you get the bumper hinge link up there?

Oops, Sorry about that. Should be fixed now.
