Just looking at all the graves with the realization that each represents a family. A family that lost a loved one. That person did not die at home. It was a tragedy that should never have happened because the North could have let the South govern itself. My gg grandfather fought with the Michigan 23rd Infantry. He was paid $300.00 as a replacement. That was BIG money. My other gg grandfather fought at Chickamauga for Tennessee where he got wounded. I fought in the Republic of Vietnam '68. Guaranteed, it ain't a picnic as those at First Battle of Bull Run thought. In Vietnam, we fought for each other and only each other because the GD government did not care. I was at Gettysburg in 1959. My last trip was '97. This is a nice video 👍. Eaglegards...

The South was not content to leave federal property alone, as the history of Fort Sumter shows... You frame it like the North is responsible, but the Confederates fired the first shot at Sumter. The South governing itself would have meant slavery would have endured, which would have been a moral aberration.

@@WhiteRaven43 You sound like there never was any slavery in the history of the world. I contend that one currently living in the USA is a slave. One example, according to the Bureau of Labor statistics, is that over 50% of one's earned income since 2019 goes to taxes. Is that not slavery? The Plantation Mentality continues on in the USA.

New subscriber here! Love your videos! Do you guys live in PA? We also live in PA and we recognize some of the scenery from the western part of the state. We started watching because of your Shenandoah videos, we are going in October.

I have visited most of those places. We went back to Devil's Den at night during the summer. That placed really creeped us out. I could feel it. I am sure it was just knowing what had happened there, but I could not walk among those rocks at night.

Visit sachs bridge at night, it’s terrifying. Believe it or not I’ve actually seen a child spirit.

Believe me not all the sprits there are bad, some are just lonely and just as interested in you, as you are of them. I have been there many times and had felt both. And yes at night, but it closes at 9 or 10 cant remember.

The peace monument is made of Maine granite and Alabama lime stone. Bringing north and south together.

Yes, and donations for the monument were from the north and south. Thanks for watching!

Suggestion: Add details. What was Devil’s Den, Little Round Top, what happened to Confederate dead?

Hi - thanks for watching! We aren't historians so we wouldn't attempt to fill in the history - this was just a guide of areas to explore for others to learn more about!

Enjoyed this video but the sound hard to hear. I have visited here many times starting on my Honeymoon in 1960. It is a wonderful but sad place that everyone interested in American history should visit.
