This man's voice and eloquent speech makes it seems as though he is speaking to you personally and not just "selling you a plant" FANTASTIC!

Thank you, that is (pretty much) what is happening..... David wants you to feel that you are right there standing beside him looking at the plants and chatting about them. A simple, natural assessment of his passion in life... Good garden plants and gardening topics.

He's 1 of the most honest fellas about plants, he's given me a ton of information back & none of it getting money out of me.

It's as easy to be honest about plants as it it is to be deceptive. Just bear in mind that we all have our own likes and dislikes and a lot of it boils down to personal experience and preferences, and a lot of times, there may not be a definitive answer or conclusion, but hopefully by relaying whatever information we know to be accurate in a straight forward way, it will help others to make up their minds.

This looks like a worthy companion to my marmalade geum! A similarly rich color - I will definitely be looking for it locally. I recently moved my garden to a partly pm shades lot and my geum was massively divided into flats for transport - so happy to hear I have done it well for flowering :-)

Oh goody....I live in Oregon! Boy after listening to the description and seeing this plant I want to buy dozens of them, ps, I have 1/2 acre!

That's good because they will be really impressive in grouped displays. That's what's neat about his plant, it makes a beautiful little cottage style item for small, intimate settings when planted as individuals or small groups of say three or five, but it is stunning and easy to look after when planted in massed drifts.

The geum is just stunning. I will have to find some locally here to grow. Are yours started from seed?

Thanks for watching and posting your kind comment. Geums are very valuable and amongst some of the most underrated perennials, and this one has proven particularly good in our trials. During the main planting season (spring through late Fall) we will be sending them out to our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ so if you live in our Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region, we would encourage you to stop in and take a look, because they will have all sorts of beautiful, tried and true and cutting edge, top performing selections, including several really nice and dependable Geums, several of which are also profiled here on this channel. They are all selected varieties and therefore have to be vegetatively propagated, seed grown ones are variable and do not have consistent, uniform characteristics. Have you subscribed to our channel? If you haven't, you might like to think about it, because once you are subscribed, each time we post a new video (which we are doing all the time), they will turn up automatically in your feed. And, as you find our videos helpful, it would be great if you could kindly share the links with your friends and click the "like" button too, because that helps other people find out about the information as well. Thanks again for watching.

My orange Geum has just about finished flowering. I have pruned back to under the leaves which are still looking very healthy, will it flower again now we are approaching the end of August ?
@OverdevestNurseries
@OverdevestNurseries 14 дней назад
Thanks for watching and posting your question. Geums are spring and early summer flowering perennials, and while they might occasionally throw a flower spike or so in the cooler weather of autumn, we cannot depend on them to flower anything like the way they do in the early part of the year. As you mention, they do produce nice clumps of semi-glossy green, textured leaves, so even if flowers are absent, the rounded clumps will be nice to look at. When you were watching David's video, did you pick up on his suggestion to divide your clumps regularly? This can be done either in autumn or spring, and goes a long way in helping to keep your plants vigorous and flowering well. We don't have a specific video on dividing Geums on our channel, but if you watch this one on Heucheras: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9NLlarfmsxM.htmlsi=ZLl7AaIbNgoBfJrE it will show you the principle methods of how to do it, is very similar. We hope this helps. Finally, have you subscribed to our channel yet? If you haven't, you might like to think about it, because once you are subscribed, each time we post a new video (which we are doing all the time), you will find that they will turn up automatically in your feed. And, as you find our videos helpful, it would be great if you could kindly share the links with your friends and click the "like" button too, because that will help other people find out about the information as well. And, now that we are in the midst of the main planting season (spring through late Fall) we try to encourage everyone to visit our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/. They are located all over our Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region, and that's where you will find all sorts of beautiful, tried and true and cutting edge, top performing selections, so be sure to stop in regularly throughout the seasons because there will be a steady stream of fresh shipments coming in weekly.
