This actually helped me out a lot I just bought a new made bolt head for gew 88 I have the Chinese Hanyang rifle and the original bullhead I have on mine is loose and a lot of play and it looks like the old design you have that's been shaved off the bottom. I was worried for a second cuz of the new one I got has the lip all the way around for the cartridge. I just got to get the damn thing fitted now it won't fit. And the barrels loose on it. But what really makes this thing special is it it was originally a German rifle that was given to the Chinese and I'm assuming during world war II to fight the Japanese. From what I gather it is a very rare rifle because it don't have the tangent site it has the ladder style. And the serial number that was restamp by the Chinese starts with the letter suffix A and then it says 50 or 500 anyway it's a very very early rifle for the Chinese one of the first I'd imagine that Germany sent to them I really want to get the barrel threads cleaned up and the barrel reinstalled it's just loose . And get this bolt head fitted
i can see, the niddle of the 1891 bolt action is a little bit out, i have one that i've never shoot yet but i also notice that mine has the same "problem" is it ok? or just is something normal, i want to know how dangerous is it
Just subscribed to your channel. Your videos are very detailed and informative. I do have a Gew 88 rifle with matching serial numbers, but I am missing the the bolt head assembly and the cleaning rod. Do you know where I locate replacement parts? I really would like to shoot this rifle if I can find the parts. Any information would be appreciated!
