A reminder of us living on a geologically active planet, and of this area being on top of an active super-volcano... I remember having walked on that same plank. The people closest were lucky.

In the original video, they go back to the crater and see that the wooden floor and the railings have been swept away by the explosion... The tourists were very lucky!

Why are people in these types of videos always the most annoying and the ones without an appropriate sense of urgency? You're literally at risk of getting burns from super hot steam and/or water, SO FREAKING RUN!

In such an event I think it is natural to underestimate how much danger you might be in. I think those who have seen what can happen would have run faster, or even actually moved.

In Yellowstone, if there was more danger, they would have been dead. There really isn't much of an in-between.

Went there for all the right reasons....it was absolutely stunning....it was dangerous just being on the walk paths with no railings battling millions tourists to not get knocked off into the thermal pools and acidic land!! I would never go back.

No, in order for that to occur you'd have to have earthquakes and a few other things to happen because that occurs but it's expected to go off thousands of years from now so we'll be dead before then regardless
@jocelyntampus9832

There is no reported volcanic earthquakes, so the explosion doesn't cost a major eruption. It's just only a hydrothermal explosion.

Are they running from what happened or do they think that the volcanoes getting ready to explode because the reactions should be vastly different. People in Ohio aren't going to outrun Yellowstone vulcanic explosions

Thanks for the info, there are large cracks on the seafloor. The fire from the interior of the Earth is making contact with the sea water, it will come: tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanoes, cyclones, tsunamis, ... To save ourselves from disasters there is only one way, the elimination of our psychological defects. The Key in the book "Hercolubus or Red Planet" by V.M. Rabolú.
