Session 31 of BGA24 is on gfastar by Dr Giulio Formenti, Assistant Professor at Rockefeller University, and Jack Medico, PhD candidate.
gfastar is an efficient and extremely fast C++ program. This growing toolkit aims to aid in the assembly of any genome, especially in T2T projects thanks to Jack's work on the teloscope program which is used for the identification of telomeric sites across a genome, as well as non-canonical telomeric motifs (which may be found in interstitial telomeric site, those not found at the end of the genome).
