No, the DV+ is not a blow off valve, it recirculates the vented air the same way the factory valve does. It is designed for performance and longevity, not sound. However, for a blow off sound you can use the VTA T9458, which is basically an atmosphere-venting version of the DV+.
Thank you guys. Installed mine today on a W176 A200 - works like a sharm. At the german reseller MaxRPM - they say its not working for A180 ?! Why that? Cheers
T9458 - hi is it same like original valve but the differences is the performance and got louder sound? because i scared long term usage will make my car problem like blow off valve
Hi Hafizi, The T9358 is not an atmospheric venting valve. It is fully re-circulating and so will have the same sound as the original valve. It is designed to be a more high performance oriented replacement for the factory valve
Hi Lucas, It is not normal for the DV+ to trigger any warning lights. Depending on the specific vehicle, it may need to be set up slightly differently. Could you please email us at support@gfb.com.au with some more details about the engine code and what conditions this issue occurs? We do have lifetime warranty on all our parts so we'll be happy to help solve this issue for you
iOS Clutcher I installed this but got a studder when accelerating took it out and the stutter was gone did i install wrong or do i need to program this to my car
Hello, If you need some specific technical help please contact us at support@gfb.com.au If you send some video that shows the issue you're having that would help us get to the bottom of what could be going on
Recently installed one on my Mercedes, took all of 10min. Been driving around for a week and can honestly say it doesn't make a lick of difference to the stock DV. I think what they're designed/supposed to do is vastly different to what they actually do, which in my case is nothing. May as well have installed an automated potato peeler.
Hey! I’d be more than happy to help provide a bit more information about the DV+ for you. The main design philosophy behind the DV+ range is to achieve better boost holding, solving boost leaks and improving throttle response. We achieve this by replacing the weaker plastic components with reinforced metal components. The increased amount of throttle response is achieved through our pilot actuated system also. In some cases as well where an above factory amount of boost is achieved, the weaker diaphragm or piston styled diverter valves will either tear or leak boost - by replacing the weaker components were able to ensure boost is held. If you are concerned that your valve is not working correctly, or is not giving you the benefits you believe it should, please contact our engineers at support@gfb.com.au. We will be happy to look over any dyno graphs or other data that you may have.
The same diverter valve, T9358, will fit the A45 - provided your car has a factory fitted diverter valve in the first place. The first generation A45 from 2014-216 actually had a blanking plate where the diverter valve would usually fit on the turbo. At some point in 2016, Mercedes replaced the blanking plate with a factory diverter valve, and only these cars can be fitted with a DV+. So it would be worth having a look at your car to confirm if it's there or not before purchasing a DV+.
