BTW, last 6 months or so, one of my favourite VST synths was the multi module Oberheim from GForce - seems like this guys have got it right. Thank you, looking forward to test this!
Exact , this combo is imho one of the most solid and can be eougth more most scenarios (unless you go FM or granular for exemple) ... Be sure to share your finding ;) Thks for watching and comments .
Try it , my exemples aren't the best , in this case i wanted to show more what makes it unique ....i didn't some test in Gearslutz where i went on classic patches even Taurus territory versus Softube and legend , and the results might surpise you ;) thks for watching and your remark !
@@ZozillaThaGreat make another video and when the CPU is spiking on some of those extremities reduce those voices my good man, unison etc but you know that already, you are the maestro ZozillaTheG 🖤🕳️🖤
As you see in the video i lowered the voices and it didn t changed a thing , i concluded that this was the culprit .. anyway thks been playing deeply with it today and i even love it more ... modulated reverb mix on some pluks with a mono delayb(link them left right) and it was trippy , once i arpeggitaed this on my Keystep pro
lol ahahahah i was literraly making a bet yesturday with one artist i'm working with , and i said pretty sure very few will notice since people don't go threw the whole video when it's not a 15 min video lol .... that said you might have jumped on conclusion thks to links ahahah .... anyway tell me what ya think and read the comment i made to Zyx Yuv question , i give imho the very areas to really experimente and appreciate differences . Thks for watching and for the good laugth ;) very few will understand your comment ahaha
I' have Minimonsta2, it's a very capable VST with a good sound, some warmth and all you can expect from a well done modern VST (modulations ++ polyphony...). But I must confess that despite all the efforts put in this product (that is perhaps the best minimoog emulation) there is no comparison even with my humble hardware behringer Model D. VSTs are still far away from the sound of real machines. But as a VST this one is very good and if you must pick one, this is perhaps the best in this category.
You are correct , but for me it's more like Moog dna on steroid ;) if somebody need a 1:1 moog plugin , i would pick probably the UAD , mainly due to control range and sweat spot that are close to hw imho ... the model 72 from softube sounds great also but ranges ( like decay for exemple on filter env) is sometimes is in term of sweat spot and vaules kinda off ... The one area you can check mood emus vesrus HW is noises and special fx .... Now whe you forget those geeky talk , the minimonsta 2 is simply becoming one of my fav simply because presets i make in , i do them fast , fun and they sounds superb !! another is one i'm gonna review also is the Xils Poly kb witch is higly underatted and sound fuking analog !!
@@ZozillaThaGreat The Xils Poly is a good one, your review will be interesting! I like the Model 72, there is some realism in the sound. But each emulation has its own weaknesses and strengths, I'm waiting the one that will summarize all the strengths without the weaknesses !
Model 72 sound the dirtiest (in a good way ) but two problems : pahsing issues versus a real moog , and the decay sweat spot on the filter ADSR is ridiculous ...a hig resolution midi encoder to control is is a must , even with mous fine tune it is no way like the HW witch is an immense sweat spot all around !!
@@ZozillaThaGreat None are perfect, as I said it, we're in search of the VST with the good features of all existing ones and without the weaknesses. For certain sounds I prefer Model 72 to MiniMonsta2 and sometimes it's the contrary... One day a VST will to all the job... until this day a true minimoog is not a bad choice (apart for the wallet !)
it's a shame they dropped the morphing feature patch. The macros will unfortunately not be as powerful as the morphing patch in version 1 . It seems that too few people were using it and so they removed this function.
Dominique it's incredible cause i literraly made a patch that morths from keys to brass thks to macros ....(onne macros knobs linked to 7 parameters ) so it was indeed cool but A LOT can be done with macros , i wiosh i would have covered it more in my video !! Thks for the comment and for watching !
@@ZozillaThaGreat Thank you for your answer . I'm sure you can do great things with macros, but not the same as with morphing. the main problem is that we will not be able to recover all the work done on the old patches with morphing. It would be necessary to be able to keep the 2 versions of minimonsta on the daw. I'm afraid version 2 will overwrite the previous version
Bro you can't just declare a winner without having any competition... Where is the comparison video with Softube Model 72, Synapse Audio The Legend, Cherry Audio Miniverse.
Oh yes i can !! lol jokes aside , i thougth that my video was enougth to make people understand what i was trying to explain , but thks to your comment , seems like i 'm not that clear (supposing you watched the whole thing at least preset making) : we're discussing this exactly on GS forum , and basically my point is for exemple the model 72 , has this raw sound that sound super analog and close to a real moog like crazy , but for me it's not only that , for me the beauty of the moog is the Filter / env section , and you literrally "PLAY" this section , the moog has this incredible ability unlike a lot of other synth , to let you go from a place to another sonically in a intuitive , well calibrated way , smooth with zero bad sonics areas in between .... PLEASE test what i just said this is where i found the diff bewteen model are , the feedback sweet spot on the model 72 is funny as well as some env point , the env on arturia are now way near a real moog , the uad is imho the closet to a real moog ect .... but at the end , (and i literraly bougth the Repro (UHE) package for that ) , i wanted to be able to have a poly synth flexibility with that RAW analogish (moog area) sound with great fx (another section where other fails ) with a filter and env section that is tight , the UHE has it 100 % .......and Gfroce just delivered what i was looking for ;) My video is for people to be sure to try it (and you guyz decide) , my goal as a producer (not a youtuber) is to ring alerts when i face something "dope" and worth trying , as simple as that !! Thks a lot for you comment it always help
If you own the softube and are happy with regular moog sounds , softube is solid ...but the polyphonie and the modulation opens way more ground on this one ... so it s a question of taste , some people will use other stuff , but for me polyphonic synth that are raw and primitif , direct like moog are few , comes to mind uhe repro 5 and xlis polyKb , as well as stuff like roland jupiter 4
I tried the legend and didn't gelled at all ,but i can't leave all MM2 goodies anyway once you used to it ... Just do this : make 3 or 4 patches , gain match and see , don't try to match sounds with parameter ,; just say : ok i'm gonna do a bass , resonant bass , a pad , ect ...and see where each leads you because during production this is what we do , wedon't do A/B during production lol .... so settings matching is nothing , just let it leads you and see where ya end up , that's for me the only valid test .... the rest is geek masturbation (sorry for the term homie)
Fatness , i've found it exagerateed like on the softube , try the MM2 and driver a little via feedback and see ;) this what i did and pretty patched them
It can do the trick , and still solid ...but we're talking two totally diff approach here .... and i much prefer this one personnaly , it react to tweaking better ... and the goodies makes it goest to Moog One territories like it's nothing ... .... But to each its taste /... Monark still a solid one a better than some more recent ones ! In a pure purist approach , if this is your case (closer emu ) , just grab the UAD witch i consider to be it and have been validated by MOOG and when you gonna tweak the Filter and Env you gonna understand the diff with monark ... As for Minimonsta, it 's in the uad pedigree , but allwos me to have way more fun and can be the only synth i can use for a complex production !! The ratio simplicity of use / complexity of results is simply unmatched
@@ZozillaThaGreat I think the most important part of a mini emu is the sound and to my ears Monark sounds better even than the UAD. For tricks i have lots of other synths much more powerful in that department. I have the Minimonsta 1 and it was good for its time but i do not plan to upgrade cause neither the sound nor its new tricks can compete with what i already have.
To each his approach ... for me i know that i can make any synth sound great enougth for, PRO use , some are inspiring and a creativ heaven while being an operation smooth ground , some are the exact opposite ...some in bewteen .... this is how approach ART generation ...
