I don't want to get into gfriend theories because even I am always confused with theories but I also want to know what exactly is happening and how is it related to their past music videos Edit: Gosh,,, I'll just enjoy their beautiful music.
Actually, since they released a short video called a tale of glass bead, the storyline is a lot more clearer. Funny thing, theories that were made by fans mostly didnt even hit close to the actual storyline So basically, gfriend are group of bestfriends, each of the members got an ability of their own from a magical lake they found (Love Whisper mv) > they got envious of each other's power (Navillera mv) > they fought till death but only a member survived (Fingertip mv), that is eunha (the pink short haired) > she used her time rewind ability to fix everything but it seems like she never succeded > the room eunha was sitting is collapsing indicates she messed up the timeline each time she used her power There is probably more to this mv but i suck at creating theories
the way i see it (my theory) yerin is like a common "death" character in the mv first we see her drown in the bath and eunha's buterfly comes to her and the bathroom is flooded eunha senses it and rewinds the time second time we see sinb grabbing yerin off the train (assuming the train was going to crash) but than we see the both of them on the train at the end but we also see the train going backwards at the end (thats a sign eunha sensed it again and rewinded time again this time to save them both im assuming that sowon that was in the car might have been in a crash at some point in the future (causing her to die) but she was saved by eunha or will be yuju is seen running throughout the mv presumably in order to save one of the girls this is all based on tail of the glass bead where we found out they all died and eunha was the last remaining so it seems as tho all of them had death time lines that eunha rewinded in order to save them all (umji didnt get much of any info rly so i cant base anything)
at first it was eunha who people theorize was the dead one and now are the other way around, i think people need to expand their imagination in order to see a bigger picture because those dead theories (it didn't really bother me) spread really fast and its getting kind boring, I mean, how people can concive an idea of a world without eunha... thats nutz. ps. don't mind my poor english
I never re-listen to their music because it's not really a genre I listen to but I do love their songs, if that makes sense. Like, they're all so talented and their songs are beautiful, I always check out their new releases. I'm glad joining BigHit didn't change their sound! I wasn't really worried but you never know.
Is like BTS run in one point.... Yuju running.... Yerin in the tub... Umji and Yuju fighting.... Sowon in the car, Eunha alone.... Sinb and Yerin, all members together but not..... The song and the concept are great..... but a fall in love with their acting skills..... I really fill the emotions.... I saw the choreo and is Amazing....
the mv storyline is Eunha is traveling through time and creating different timelines to change their fate where they fall apart but still hasn't succeed, at 4:19 on the mv shows the different timelines and in each of them their world is falling apart more.
To explain the acquisition, this is the probably the "best" analogy to give it: Say Bighit is Disney, Source Music is Marvel- Disney bought Marvel, but Marvel STILL has control over their content, so long as it does not hurt Disney's brand, meaning that Disney has final say. So yeah, Source is still Source, BH is still BH, Source is under BH, but GFriend still reports to Source, who will then report to BH. This is like how SM Entertainment acquired Woolim Entertainment in 2013, but we don't say that Infinite is now under SM. This is why I'm curious as to why people say GFriend is now BH's gg. Sure, technically, yes, they are correct, but the one handling them is Source. For example, "Captain America is now Disney's First Avenger" is technically right, but you don't hear people say that. Another is "Darth Vader is the House of Mouse's Dark Lord," technically right but doesn't sound good. "Infinite is SM Entertainment's boy group." Nah, Capt. is Marvel's, Darth Vader is Lucasfilms', Infinite is Woolim's, GFriend is Source's ----- Also, this MV is freaking beautiful.
BH is just nice to make their page a hub for their 'labels,' which is only currently 2, (why go through the trouble if it's just 2 labels unless they have plans in the future for more expansion, who knows), to make it so that they can promote everything under their umbrella in one location.
They (people said Gfriend is bh gg) only want to discredit Gfriend and Source Music efforts and hard works. They hate Gfriend as Gfriend and as Source Music artist. I don't get what their problem or reason to discredit and ignored Gfriend and Source Music existence before.
@@Jeebs92 exactly And very proud that GFRIEND is the only gg under BIGHIT LABELS right now😂 But there will be 2/3 new girl groups under BIGHIT LABELS in 2021/2022 And then GFRIEND will have gg label mates 😂
I really really really loved Crossroads!! it’s so good and strong and emotional and unique I honestly loved the song and the choreography and the mv so so much!!! also your reaction is so interesting and entertaining! than you for reacting to them
This title song is the best performance. After seeing the showcase, I can see why they call their performance number one. I want to see the Mcountdown comeback stage soon.
I highly recommend to watch the live performance of gfriend crossroads and labyrinth. Promise, if you want more high note, "labyrinth" will slap you. You will be stunned on how they sing with a killer knife choreography. P. S. if you plan to watch. Pls, take a deep breathe first. Many buddies watching their performances reacted that they are suffocating just watching them perform. Cuz the choreography says it all. IM WARNING YOU. Even me watching can't believe on how they manage to perform it. 😫
Just did a reaction on this video. The whole cinematic theme of this music video is different. Lack of dancing for for Gfriend just seems weird. That being said this was still def on theme for a song Gfriend would create. Great stuff Gfriend. Keep up the good work.
and ya revisiting the mv in 2023 just makes me think the girls as taking separate ways on the "crossroads" have been separated way too far apart from each other🥺😭 like is there really little to zero possibility for them to reunite or something i would sell my soul
I have watched a few channels, and you are the only one that actually watch the movie. Others are just talking about random things and missed the highlight parts :)
I have some thoughts about the MV after I watch it a few times more. Ok, so, Eunha has the power to rewind time so that everything can be fixed and everyone can be together again, be happy again. But, alas. Her power has a consequence, and that is her world or herself is crumbled in each timeline she tried to mend the mistakes.
More than 10 million views were passed by pre-gaming at the time when the number of music video searches was soaring. And if you don't even get into the hit video, you're going to lose at least tens of millions. I was also caught on RU-vid when I had to spread this out.
For anyone who doesn't get the butterflies in the box. Eunha's power that she got from the lake seems to be turning back time, but only four times. In Fingertip she used one butterfly to save herself from death. In this music video, she used the rest to try and save the other five members but it looks like everytime she uses it, it's a bad ending. I think she managed to save four members but Umji who's left in the dark at the end, couldn't be saved. And Eunha has run out on her power. She has no more butterflies.
In regards to how the companies are organized, Big Hit acquired Source Music and is running it as a sub-label, similarly to the way The Black Label is a sub-label of YG.
I have a theory about this storyline, but I don't know I never got into theories that much :v but this new comeback looks pretty cool Everything is set up with the trailer *A tale of the Glass Bead: Previous story* There we are told that Eunha wants to go back to the happy days with her members, and that's when the story in Crossroads begins I think the butterflies are used to revive people. Some how she discovered the butterflies in Fingertip, she died there but revived thanks to the butterfly she caught at the beginning of Fingertip. Then she go back in time with her own power (the one she earned on the lake in Love Whisper) Crossroads start with Eunha dreaming about Fingertip, and looking around remember in what timeline she is now, checking out the butterflies, AND the glass bead (it looks corrupted, maybe because of the time travel) Then Yerin suicided in the tub but Eunha revives her, but in other hand Umji get lost in the dark :( (the final shots of them, Umji is the last one in darkness) that's when the timeline messed up again, and we see her memories of Fingertip, Time for the Moon Night and now Crossroads, all 3 are timelines were Eunha fails to save the members... Now she has only 2 more butterflies and she need to go back in time again to try to save Umji :( The story will continue in next MV That's how I see it
To be perfectly honest I consider myself buddy but I'm not the type of fan to give theories a second thought. More like I listen to the MV, I enjoy it visually and also their vocals (ofc). And as always I enjoy your reactions ^^
React to crossroad dance studio choom is soooooo beautiful and amazing you need to watch it and here we are is also good And labyrinth is wow I am speechless 🥰😍 My englisch is amazing 😂 sorry I hop you unterstand me You are so cute 💜
Source music and bighit won't work like how they used to. Bighit composers and staff are employed with Gfriend for this comeback as well. BangPD even composed 2 if the songs himself. It's like how marvel movies are basically Disney movies even tho they're not musicals or animated films.
I think Eunha is using her powers to get back in time to when they are still together and Yerin is still with them. I think Yerin is the sole reason why they fight with each other. Maybe Yerin committed suicide or died and none of them are able to save her. Eunha blame SinB for not stopping Yerin from leaving which may have lead to her demise, a train derailment for example. Umji might have felt it is her fault in some way or she tries her best not to get affected by Yerin's death, maybe its the bath tub scene where Yerin might have committed suicide, Umji is at home but she wasn't able to stop her. Yuju may be trying to cheer Umji up but she is just too stubborn to even accept Yuju's comfort. Sowon left the house because there is no reason to stay since their friendship already ended up after Yerin's death. The scene where Eunha's room is being destroyed is the number of times she attempted to go back in time and fix things but her 3 attempts are all failure. The 4th attempt is a success maybe.
Listening to the album i kind of thought it didnt sound like them. The only song that i thought “that was gfriend” was crossroads (i even thought the teasers felt like bighit. The color grading just gave me hard txt/bighit vibes ) the other ones kinda sound like bighit to me idk if thats just me though haha (i still enjoyed the album though!)
I don't know if anyone else got this feeling, but this song and MV just screamed "japanese" to me, it's so unkorean but I'm not smart enough to explain it past "yeah, this could be an anime opening"
