They are the first group to dance 2x version during rough era, when somebody from the Philippines requested them to dance it while they were in the weekly idol reading some live requests from the fans that's when the 2x version dance started. and that rough 2x versin became popular then it was became a new segment in weekly idol :) btw im from the #Philippines also :)
They said that the reason they are so good is because when learning a new dance for a new song, they practice in lower speed to learn better, then speed up to normal speed
Gfriend themselves said that Love Whisper was their hardest choreo so far (even tho it doesn't seem like it, I think it's the position changes that reallly makes it hard), before that it was Navillera (and before that it was Rough), and Fingertip was their most intense choreo
Up10tion, ToppDogg, MonstaX, and 24k need 1st wins I forgot about the whole position changing, that would make sense as to why it's harder. And after watching them all I think I can agree that Fingertip was the hardest before Love Whisper
Up10tion, ToppDogg, MonstaX, and 24k need 1st wins omfg I tried dancing love whisper and the chorus part where only your lower half turns, I nearly fainted because you get so dizzy from turning too fast. The footwork in love whisper is pretty hard since you have to do it fast too.
Up10tion, ToppDogg, MonstaX, and 24k need 1st wins well i also thought that love whisper was not that hard so i tried learning it once and trust me even the freaking intro was hard like it was okay if it was a slow ver. But when i tried the normal ver.you can only manage until the kick part and after that is chaos.
love whisper is definitely their hardest to date because of the intense footwork and position changes. but thats what they always say for the latest title track they are promoting and then they talk about the varying reasons why with fingertip it was mainly hard for sinb cos she was the only one who couldnt get a rest to take a breath because she did all the dance breaks with navillera like you said in the video theyre using their whole body instead of mainly the hands and in the beginning they had so many choreography changes and the original was even harder and more technical than the current one because it involved yerin lifting yuju in the air while the maknaes lean their bodies outwards while hanging onto eunha and sowon and a couple others they mention but dont show. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WKI2d0BWdQg.html the lift is here and its after the dance break but blink and you might miss it with rough it was slower but more technical because of all the spins theyre doing and sharp half running thing they do me gustas tu was faster and more energetic than glassbead, there were a lot of position changes and of course the vaulting horse move that had to later cut yuju out of because she couldnt keep wearing the knee protector cos it clashed with their future promotions and then was cut out altogether because for similar reasons with their wardrobe glassbead had nothing to compare against because it was their first song but they still found it very difficult for me personally fingertip is the easiest because of all the hand movements, with navillera coming in second and love whisper and rough are the most difficult because of the technical moves and the foot work required in them. it has been over a year since rough came out and i still cant do the bloody spins without fumbling or falling over. glassbead and me gustas tu are pretty equal in difficulty but like with all the dances you need a lot of stamina to try and finish any of them
It was difficult to decide which of the dances was the hardest because me and Oscar know next to nothing about dancing. We can only go based off of what we saw and after we were done with this video we both watched it again to try and focus much harder on the dance itself. In Navillera they seem to move their bodies more and I do agree with what you say about Rough and Love Whisper being the most technical! You really know your stuff about Gfriend, are they your top girl group? -Serg
oh i have two left feet and know nothing bout dance as well. im just basing this off what theyve said in interviews of which ive watched all the ones with english subtitles i could find and my own experience in trying to cover their dances. i think ive made it pretty obvious with how much ive talked about them in the comments that theyre my fave kpop group and yuju is my ultimate bias. theres no other ranking its just 1.gfriend 2.any other girl group i like at the time and ailee gets an honorable mention
In case you didn't know, you just witnessed the origin of 2x speed dance on Weekly Idol with the last one, Rough (2016-02-03 Weekly Idol Ep. 236 ). It was a caller request (a recurring activity on Weekly Idol). They did Rough (I think they were promoting it anyway.) After that, Doni/Coni asked other groups "Hey Gfriend did 2x speed dance, can you?" And eventually they didn't talk about Gfriend anymore, it became a staple, like Random Dance...
Thanks for reacting to this! You should also see their random dances! They've done one in every weekly idol episode they have been in except for the one with GOT7 etc in. Also like someone else recommended they've just filmed a immortal songs episode yesterday so hope you can see that! Plus they are actually having another comeback in the 2nd week of September/ Mid September. It's going to be a repackaged version of Parallel and they have already filmed the MV of that sooo look forward to that 😊
they didn't do any 2x faster for love whisper bc they went to weekly idol (collab ep with mamamoo) a few weeks b4 their comeback so i'm guessing they'll do it after they release their repackaged album which is this mid sept
Tbh...Gfriend's choreo were har af, I kew it because I already dance it during are lip sync battle, we try the 2x faster and we dance gfriend's choreo and at the end i swear, were sweating hard...at first we thought its just easy but when we try its very hard...😂😂
