I would like to know if they will bring a 3rd version for 50 MP medium format. I believe the 50mp is the resolution suitable for most of the photographers instead the 100mp. For me a GFX 50mp with a new generation AF will be perfect.

Unfortunately I highly doubt Fujifilm/Sony will make 50mp sensors for medium format. Since other companies are shifting towards 100mp that's why I made this video. In reality the 50mp file size is easier to manage compared to 100mp sensors

I have been shooting the OG GFX 50s since its release. and it has served me so well. I am still using it on all serious shoots, and I love the 50 sensors a lot. I do see that the used prices for the GFX 100 are getting very attractive here, i recently found one for 285k Yen, but i already blew my budget on film cameras :))))

Oh wow GFX 50s user from what I heard...the 100s can't shoot smaller size res 50mp images if I'm right that's just weird.... And there is this I guess niche spot for ppl who don't want too many px since it's gonna make the editing super slow taxing computer etc...and 50mp sensor can honesty print larger images than a typical 35mm with similar resolution...but yeah kinda sad Sony won't be making that sensor any more...

I've had a 50R since 2019 and built a small channel around it. I'm torn between selling it or keeping it. I've got a feeling it's going to be a cult classic camera soon and go up in value because of the rangefinder design. If it were not such a slow camera I'd no doubt keep it. The market is shrinking and I'd be shocked if Fujifilm made a 50RII.

I would love to see the GFX 50/100R II if it ever pops up I hear the autofocus of the 50R isn't that fast....and if they can refresh it it would be nice. It's starting to become a retro camera like a film camera the good old days from what I hear the xpro 4 might come back but sigh wish the 50R comes back

All the time I'm starting to struggle to buy Fuji GFX or not I have to remind myself: - what I wish to have: "medium format look", I don't really care about number of mp, 50 looks more than enough for me. - what I will have: "micro four thirds" in world of medium format (m43 is actually great, love it), sensor isn't big enough and lenses isn't fast enough to have that look and additionally bulky camera and lenses.. I've also had an idea to use my mamiya 645 glass with it, but it will be crop. And to use it without crop it needs in extremely expensive kipon speedbooster... So after all I feel high res FF looks as more rational and versatile camera for me.. PS: here in Russia we have about the same prices: used 50SII ~2500$, used 50R ~2100$

It's not the camera that does the job it's the user that has to master their own craft and a camera is just a tool to achieving that purpose...the M43 is a great system and I envy ppl having that system since it's sooo tiny discreet and flexible travel friendly similar to how half frames roared the world back in the days. The GFX is like the Iphone Pro is it necessary? Nope for 80-90% it's a luxury but for those who can afford it it opens a new door in the world of Photography and I have to admit the Look does look damn smexy ImHo :) I actually thought of using my Mamiya 645 80mm lens on my Fujifilm x system don't know how that's gonna look but the adapter is damn expensive 😂

I just recently got a GFX50s, the original one, because of their value right now. Still not cheap. But cheap for a medium format camera.

The entry first gen GFX 50s price is really makes an affordable alternative than the newer more expensive ones but I have trouble finding one since they are really rare in camera shops in Tokyo atm

I love my 50s ii ....it's been fantastic But I'm keen to get the 100S ii I've been told the 50 sensor is not something sony want to make
@RM.TokyoPhotographer
@RM.TokyoPhotographer Месяц назад
Thanks for commenting really appreciate i am eyeing the 50s Ii right now...however I kinda built my foundation on the Gw690 III cost performance wise the GFX 50sii is probably the best cost performing medium format camera ever created but that camera will probably end production for theb100s Ii not biased or anything but I'm on a fence since the price will double You should cherish the 50s Ii since it's probably one of the best cameras made :) Sony's full frame megapixel is going beyond medium format and I think it's costly to make the 50s Ii sensore instead charge more for the 100s Ii and bc there aren't that many demand the price will increase for ppl who can really afford it

I've been keeping an eye on the 50r for a long while as I've been debating whether or not I should ditch film and go to the digital because the increasing cost and time associated with developing and processing film myself. the 50r is not that available anymore. Tho the cost has gone down recently here, it use to be 2200-2400 now I can see a couple for 1800/1900 which is tempting, might cancel my x100vi order (first new camera purchase in a long while, usually buy use) and just buy a used 50r, almost all the listings are from japan btw, just like all my other film camera purchases... the 50sII for a while was basically the same cost of the 50r which is kind of wild. now its like 2300ish, many at this price, all from over seas, japan and korea. I wish it had the slimmer range finder body, but the ibis seems worth it because I really want to adapt the med format and vintage full frame lenses I have already, I imagine its prob pretty nice having the ibis help with hand holding vintage glass.

I'm guessing my take is that the retail used camera shops are not selling it in physical stores but more like only online like eBay etc and yeah the 50R/S is tempting since it use to cost 3000usd but now like 1/3 or 2/3 the initial price nowadays which is equiv to the price of a new Mirrorless like the X100VI (that's still a great camera) although they jacked up the price by a significant margin. It's interesting to note that the 50SII and the 50R is actually the same price 🤣

I carried the gfx50s2 around Scotland for the last three weeks. I picked it up with the kit lens through Map Camera in JP for well under $3k. My only complaint is i wish I had the gf30 hahah

There are plenty of for a high megapixel quality camera now, a new Fuji GFX 50 S II are cheap, a used one even cheaper, but then there also are a much cheaper used Fuji GFX 50 S, a new Fuji GFX 100 S is not much more expensive than a 50 S II, a used 100 S is cheap, alternative there A Sony A7RIV as used, Sony A7RIVA as new and used.

now you mention it i was looking at a71V and they are becoming in the same price range as the GFX 50S ii

with Nikon D850s available with the largest lens range in history these don't make much sense anymore

Agreed! I have the D800’s, and even with the 36 mp sensor, it is a medium format killer. I have held off on buying a medium format and shoot most of it on my Hasselblad CM500 and GW690. But for digital, I think the Nikon D800 series is plenty of camera.
@RM.TokyoPhotographer
@RM.TokyoPhotographer 4 месяца назад
I rmb when the D850 came out it was like 2,800-3,000usd? Somewhere around that price but it fallen alot like 1,800usd in Tokyo and seems like the viable option compared to GFX system

In my film only days, I primarily shot Nikon SLRs and Leica rangefinders. In the digital era, I waited for Nikon and Leica to produce full-frame digital cameras that I liked and could use my inventory of Nikon and Leica lenses. Finally, Nikon produced the D850 and Leica produced the M10. I decided to buy the M10 first. Regretfully, the digital M10 was not as reliable and well-made as my film M6. I wish I had purchased the D850 first.

Samsung should start making camera sensors again. Give manufacturers options

the only problem with samsung was that they werent that much dedicated into makin lenses for their mount...i rmb back when they tried to come into the mirrorless game but it takes time and patience and alot of money to get camera business running.

@@RM.TokyoPhotographer, I am not talking about Samsung reentering the camera business: just making sensors for other manufacturers. Sony is good, but lack of competition in that space is not good for the consumer. Samsung still has the skill set, because it has been making sensors for advanced camera phones. How hard would it be to scale up into larger sensors?

I'm converting from Japanese Yen Tokyo store price to dollars to make it easier to grasp it's 320,000yen in dollars roughly 2,500$usd (including Japanese Yen Tax) I'm not including the extra VAT found in Europe along with extra tariff etc that gets topped to the original price
