Nice. I have this camera and Premiere. Is there a good article or video about how to produce this grading? ALso what were the picture settings used in camera?
Not bad. But go to the cinema and watch newer Quentin Tarantino moview. They are filmed on film. And the depest blacks are black. Why do so much peoble think that "film look" mean bright (and colored) shadows and lower constrast?
URIBeFILM with all -5 he means his setting for the profile "CineD" are adjusted to -5. Via menu choose "Photo Style", go to CineD and set all the setting (Saturation etc.. ) to "-5" to get a flat image. This will need some colorgrading but the result is great ;)
Kurusutomari This footage looks to be shot on something much higher, like 1/250th. It's really choppy, the opposite of smooth. I don't think the GH4 can shoot at 1/25 if you're shooting 24p video anyways. 1/50th is the standard for organic and cinematic motion blur.
Well it's more depending on what style you're going for. For example a war movie: high shutter speed is needed (it's called something else on cinema cameras). But it's more about the look you're going for. I like high shutter more, but it doesn't mean it's the right way, just my style :)
AdrixEDITS would you mind clarifying if I'm on 1/250th won't I get super smooth motion? so why is Micha saying that it's shot on that hence it's really choppy
Well super smooth doesn't mean to be cinematic look, me myself I like about 1/100 shutter speed for standard 24p clip, but for action clips I like to higher like 1/250, and well I think it looks fine to me, I don't think it looks choppy. But especially when i shoot slowmotion I like to go 400 shutter speed or more, if I have the light :) Your clips will not be motion blured when shooting 1/250, but I would go a little down for normal 24p :)
+controversialist01 I observed that everyone's turning the saturation all the way down on the GH4 before shooting, apparently that's better in post for color grading (I could be wrong) but that's what I noticed on alotttt of the videos.
Lavdosh Gjuzaj you people are so backwards... it looks stunning.... if this thing was overly color-graded and overly contrasted, you'd be all on board with it... the footage looks amazing
