My son's best friend is from Ghana and my son loves Jollot rice. Yesterday he said: " Mommy please can you cook that rice for me? Opsss, you saved my life. Thank you. I' m from Dominican Republic.
Do us Congolese have Jollof?🌝 leave Congo alone😹, and leave Jollof for Ghanaian, Nigerian, Senegalese etc… but, personally I love Ghana Jollof too😌 In Congo we eat Rice ya boulay
My boyfriend was born and raised in Ghana but even he needs help cooking it. Thank you so much for this video. Im American but i plan on adapting to much Ghanian culture. Appreciate you!
I am not sure why there’s this feud between Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Ghana when it’s come to jollof rice.. this really is all the ingredients for a basic jollof Rice… it’s so unnecessary for us to keep arguing. It’s a case of my mama soup sweet pass yours that’s all… great video my sister.
Yes. The only difference I see is the type of rice used. I love jasmine rice with my stew. My problem is that it comes our soggy. I am going to try her Ghana jollof recipe
I can’t not tell you how many times I tried to make Jollof and it never worked due to the amount of water. I’m so happy that I finally found a way to make it! Thank you! Now my Ghanaian father can be proud of me 😂
Wow! I'm a Nigerian I've heard about Ghana Jollof but haven't tasted it. So this is how it's cooked?... Only with the stew made no added water and stock. I'll definitely try it bcus it looks nice
After watching this, I see no difference between Ghanaian jollof and Nigerian jollof. It just depends on the cook. I make my jollof the same way and I'm Nigerian.
You see people just need to educate themselves on this Ghana / Nigeria relationship and the past history…. I’m Nigerian and this is exactly how my mama makes jollof rice, there is a 1000 ways to make jollof rice, people forget that a lot of this two countries were together for a long time before they split up years after year example I think it was 1993 they sent Ghanaian out of Nigeria, the reason why I’m saying this no one knows where this recipe is originally from, because Togo 🇹🇬 cook this same jollof rice too…. Nigerian is this not what you call party jollof!!!!!! This senseless argument between both countries need to stop…
Who said they sent Ghana away from Nigeria. It’s just number of people who went to live in Nigeria that were sent away. Ghana wey take Independence before Nigeria. Just like the way there are lot of Nigerians toady in Ghana. Stop talking like Ghana migrate from Nigeria
Thank you for the recipe!! My husband loves the recipe and tastes just like his favorite restaurant. I paired it with some lamb chops and fruit pizza for dessert!
I have tried both Ghana and Nigerian jollof, the Ghana jollof is never soft or cooked probably unlike the Nigerian one, though both are nice different flavors but I prefer the Nigerian jollof, sorry
So I’m coming back to say I’ve used this recipe to cook my Jollof and my guests said perfecto. Thank you for sharing this treasure for us. God bless you.
Wooooow I came back to rewatch this Jollof because that’s what we will be having for dinner and I saw 8k 🤩 thank you God you are so so amazing and I pray for even higher heights your recipes have been nothing but a blessing i really love you 🙏🏾
Do you know that also in Saudi we have the same thing and it served with chicken or beef ? And more spices to it like turmeric and bay leafs cardamoms and cloves
❤️ the beginning GOD made man in his image who we know is Adam. When Adam and Eve sinned sin entered into the world. Sin equals death. God required a blood atonement because if you take a life then life is required at your hands. Since we are all sinners and sin is death we all would need a blood atonement for our sins. Jesus Christ is one of the 3 manifestations of God. The word who came into the world as flesh. He came as the sacraficial lamb to make a permanent atonement for all of your sins. Without him you can not take away your sins and so this is why we need Jesus. He is the perfect man and sinless. God's only begotten son. His blood is perfect and can take away all of our sins. blood will be required at the end of your life because of your sins and if you do not have an atonement for your sins (who can only be jesus since his blood is the only requirement) you will go to hell forever
This looks very yummy 😋. I feel hungry right now! Meanwhile, I disagree with you. Nigeria has the best jollof. This case was settled on the 31st of July 2021😁😁.
I have to agree 🥰...my first time ever eating it my Nigerian Auntie made it and IT WAS THEEEEEE BEST!! ..But she's no longer with us(RIP) so I will definitely give this a try because it looks DELICIOUS! (Looks like hers😊)
I love that rice Señorita!! I will make it, greetings from the high mountians of Peru- South America, God bless you today and for ever! Señorita, gracias!
Now she has lifted the banner of 🇬🇭 Jollof the best of the best any other kentri must keep quiet Ghana Jollof all the way 😋😋😋 looks so soo good. Yummmmmmmy Ghana 🇬🇭 Jollof all day every day 🎉
Yum! Your jollof rice looks delicious sister, normaly I don't like nutmeg in my rice I only use it to season the meat. I do use a couple of cloves maybe 3-5 for in the sauce. I have to make it your way with the parchment ❤
Can you help me? Every time I try to make jollof rice the rice doesn’t cook! I cooked it for 1 hour one time and the rice was still hard. How do I fix this?
@@MorganLawlor-Leonard sorry to hear that. One question that comes in mind is What type of rice do you use ? I use jasmine long grain rice. I highly recommend or you can use basmati rice as well.
The recipe looks great! I want to try it but I’m confused. The amount of rice, chopped tomatoes, and tomato puree shown in the video seem to be much more than the amounts listed in the description. But then the rest of the quantities of the ingredients (like onion, bell pepper and spices) do match. So which one is it? 😊
Please watch this other jollof recipe : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oC3k_KCrTJo.htmlsi=RufOVy8xU8CtuB4C it has all your Answers to your questions
For with God nothing is impossible 🙏🏻💖🙏🏻,Have faith, it shall be well with God always 🙏🏻💖🙏🏻,no weapon formed against us shall prosper in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏻💖🙏🏻.Happy new year.
I’m a little bit confused with the measurements, a lot of the amounts said in description don’t match with the amounts used in the video. For example, in the description it says 2tbsp of tomato paste but in the video it’s a lot more than just 2 tbsp. And also it says 1 tsp of each of the herbs but that looks more than just one tsp. I’m going to make this recipe for my bf and I don’t want to mess it up. Please help😅
History and origin. The origins of jollof rice can be traced to the Senegambian region that was ruled by the Wolof or Jolof Empire in the 14th century, spanning parts of today's Senegal, The Gambia and Mauritania, where rice was grown. The dish has its roots in a traditional dish called thieboudienne, containing rice, fish, shellfish and vegetables.
Thank you my fellow African Sistar for this recipe!😘💜. I'm currently making this dish for my family. Our home smells so delicious!!!! Food from the Heart💖 & Soul🌟🌠🙏🏿
You are one of the few RU-vidrs that are very detailed with quantity and even time with prep. of food. Makes it easy for beginners to follow. I had to subscribe asap!. Thank you 😊.
Hi, I've followed your jollof recipe a year ago and I forget how much rice I used. You say in the video to use 1.5 cups of rice but the ingredients lists 1.5kg (= 6.3 cups) . It looks like you used 6 cups of rice in the video as well. I love your recipe and I just want scale it down accurately. What is the correct amount of rice?
The quantify of rice 1.5kg as you mentioned 1 1/2 cup? It’s slightly unclear can you clarify the exact quantity of rice required for this recipe. Many thanks.
I'm still learning how to cook Jollof rice well and this is the first recipe to have worked well for me, thank you. Unfortunately, the bottom was burning too much so I got worried and added water but that just made it sticky 😩 Maybe I didn't use enough oil. But it was still very tasty and looked good 😊
Tip: Once there's no water on top of the rice lower the heat. Jollof burns really quick and you will be tempted to add more water than necessary but don't. Cook it on very low heat, cover with parchment paper and give it time
@@saka543 she added little or no water probably cos she washed the rice many times. Washing rice till the water is crystal clear makes your rice cook faster and makes it very soft/sticky. Either wash it till the water is crystal clear and add little or no water or wash it just once and add more water
My former foster mother is from Ghana and she never used a Maggi cube!? Nor rosemary? just meat stock, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, peppers, onions, salt, bay leaf, etc.
I don't know the name of those seeds at the left side of the Maggi cube . Can you list them down under this comment. If I go to the market and ask the seller I want to buy jollof spices , will I get them?
Just finished watching the long version of the jollof cooking. There is a funny quote though! "lets stop the jollof war, the best lollof is from Ghana".. Lol
I am Congolese and marrying a Ghanaian, my father in law to be is coming to visit on Monday I want to impress him with a jollof rice. Wish me good luck. I will update you once I am done cooking.
This your jollof recipe is great... now I've been making jollof for fun, it turns out right, and I no longer need to bother about how much water to add...thank you.
Hi from Siberia ❄️, Russia 🌨 !👋 This is a very tasty rice! 😋 I'm saving your recipe! We have a similar recipe in Siberia, called Plov rice. I must say, yours is much more flavorful! Thank you so much 💓!
Oh! You truly Ghanaian lady with deepest skills to cook rice. Tomorrow I will do same! My son growing in Ghana, so- let we see his appetite. I will follow your video. Medassi!!
