Both hair tools use air and heat to take your hair from wet/damp to dry and styled. There are some key differences between each hair styling tool. Ghd duet style uses airflow plus heated plates to achieve smooth, sleek and straight results. While, Dyson Airstrait straightener only uses powerful directional airflow. No plates on Dyson Airstrait resulting with less heat on your hair. Ghd duet style is quieter, $100 less and does provide the extra heat if your hair needs it. The GHD plates don't heat when you use it in blow dry mode, but I love that you can use it as a straightener after for more sleekness!

@@margiampi82 You can switch it from blow-dry mode to straightener mode and use it as a straightener. The plates stay cool when you dry so as not to cause damage.

Airstrait seems to do a better job of drying it. Your hair looks good with the ghd but I've seen a lot of videos where the ghd did not do a good job.

The Airstrait does a horrendous job on curls. People are raving about the most parched haylike results I have ever seen! It's for straight hair.

@@shelly775 it would depend on what you’re looking for in a hair tool. I use it to rough dry my hair and get the roots and straighten it. It straightens it better than any hot tool I own. I have wavy hair. You can use it on wet or dry hair.

@@Ali31921 but not for perfect straightening,the airwrap brush attachment doesn't provide a straightened hair look for low porosity curly hairs.

@@thenightportermost people don’t use it on direct wet hair but slightly dry/damp. when drying beforehand, you can use the straighteners closed and use the air that comes out the side like a hairdryer to give it a rough dry first and then change the setting to hotter and then finish off !

Loose is an interesting word because that is EXACTLY what the Dyson did NOT do. It made my curly hair very stiff and AWFUL ( same as the Airwrap brush)! You can see the effect in Brad Mondo's video with the curly mannequin head. I am curious as to how the GHD will be different on fine curly hair. Almost every curly head that used Airstrait looks HORRID. I think people are lying to themselves. It is only for straight or wavy hair. Brad Mondo is very honest about this.

I have the Dyson Airstraight and it just takes too long to dry my hair. It doesn't tame my waves enough either.

i personally feel with the GHD the temperature not high enough for curly and thick hair !! Also the Dyson is ok but can make the hair very flat to the scalp and not necessarily 100% straight hair for thick/curly hair. i had to use hair straighners / hot plate after

Both looked great to me , being a cosmetologist I wouldn't recommend flat ironing hair wet at all , it's a damaging process especially with bleached & dyed hair . 🤔❤️

These aren’t regular flat irons. DYSON does not have hot plates. It’s just air. The GHD one does have the option to turn on plates after your hair is dry if you want further smoothing. Im surprised as cosmetologist you aren’t aware or up to date on new technology.

How quickly did your hair get frizzy wonky, weird with the airstraight, it's $700.00 in Canada hence the question. I have very similar texture to yours so I really don't want to buy before thourally researching
