Hey Everyone! If you ever wanted to learn Grease Pencil, I just released a course with CG Boost here: www.cgboost.com/courses/master-grease-pencil-in-blender . This course is a lot more thoroughly paced and will walk you through everything you need to know to get started. By the end you'll have created an entire scene. Hope you guys enjoy and thanks for the support!
Absolutely Stunning 😲 Ponyo has a special place in my heart. Not only was it my first introduction to Anime. But its a childhood movie me and my mom love to watch together
I can't believe the high quality of the end result! Really amazing!! You must have great analytical skills to find such an efficient workflow while making it look like you have been animating like this for many years. Thanks a lot for your impressive video, I immediately subscribed to your awesome channel!
Make a course! You've def got the talent for it! It's amazing to see you use a bunch of techniques that other artists have come up with so well! You could make a course on drawing, composition, artsyle and different techniques and I would buy it! :D
Thank you so much! There's so many amazing resources and techniques out there that have made creating these videos really fun. And I'll definitely think of doing something like that in the future 😁!
Wow, it's so cool!!!!! I really like 3D with a 2D feel, your work is like that!!! I’m so impressed!! The atmosphere and feeling of the video are all my tastes! Besides, you play the piano well! I am your fan starting today!
Thanks so much! In the meantime, you can check out Kristoff Dedene's channel (link in the description). He has a lot of great resources for doing non photorealistic art in Blender. Hope that helps!
Aww this was soo beautiful, amazing work man! The Wind Rises was one of the most heart breaking ghibli film for me, and this video reminded me of Jiro and Nahoko again now i'm kinda sad. but hey, that was really wonderful! subscribed :)
Breathtaking!! I'm glad I discovered your channel, you really inspired me, now I'll try to learn how to use Blender & Grease Pencil :D (it will take a lot of time tho ^^")
@The kiD Sure! You can actually check out the tutorial I reference in the description from Kristof Dedene. It was really helpful in achieving the effect.
Thank you so much! The rays are actually grease pencil layers. I created a filled shape, added a blur effect to look like rays and set the layer to add blending mode. You can see it around 5:18. Hope that helps!
@@kevandram the grease pencil is blowing my mind... I love seeing your process. Hopefully im learning blender well enough thay i can start to combine all the techniques. It's like eating an elephant 🐘 😳 So many possibilities!
Very cool combination of all the recent Ghibli techniques for blender , but you skipped the part where you trace the characters haha , great scene awesome
actually i began a scene based on wind and grass (also slightly ghibli inspired) a few weeks back but i struggled with the foreground grass/plants. gonna "steal" your techniques here lol
@@alexmehler6765 Go for it! Not sure if this helps, but I separated the foreground elements I drew in my concept by color. I did that so when took it into Blender, I could see the different layers and give the animation some depth. Hope that helps and looking forward to seeing your scene!
Thanks for the kind words! I would say, try to find the reason or art style that makes you want to learn Blender. I find it easier to learn something when I can anchor some sort of motivation behind it. Then, you can learn those necessary skills and apply it to pieces you actually want to make. Hope that helps!
