Whoopi said the worst thing about making the movie was that her role just wasn't fair. Doing scenes with Patrick Swayze and not being able to LOOK at him.😄
To be honest, Sam didn't kill anyone. Through their own recklessness Carl and Willy were responsible for their own deaths. Sam was apalled both times. As far as touching goes, he could affect things but couldn't feel them. He had to use Oda Mae to really have a tactile connection. I agree, this might be the most romantic film ever. Like you said; this guy told God to just hold up, I have to give my girl one last kiss and tell her I Love her. This movie is sincerely rewatchable.
The bible doesn't say thou shall not kill under an circumstance. God did a good deal of killing himself. Half the Psalm's are King David pleading with God to help him kill his enemies.
@@ckobo84 oh absolutely. But you have to get past the Old Testament and into the new Covenent. In that New Covenent there is a duty to not kill. Albeit somewhat circumstantial. The death penalty is a tenet upheld by Scripture through Dogmatic Law. However an individual is restricted from murder. Obviously excluding self defense. Which, of course, isn't murder.
@@Lady-Seashell-Bikini That and again, as said, Sam did not deal a fatal blow in either case. Both Willy and Carl got paranoid and reckless and essentially killed *themselves*. Sam did not want this, and even spoke with pity and remorse after Carl died.
Another great reaction. When he said “he got a handful of imagination” I had to pause the video and immediately tell my wife what I just witnessed 😂 One of the best reactors out there.
Whoopi Goldberg's first scene when she discovers she really has got psychic powers is one of my favourite film scenes - so funny. Thanks for your reaction.
"I love you, Molly. I've always loved you." "Ditto." Fun Fact: For several years, Patrick Swayze had women coming up to and asking him to recite the line "Ditto" from the movie. Sounds From Hell Fact: The horrific sounds made by the "dark shadows" are really the sounds of multiple baby cries, played at extremely slow speed backwards. Men Can Cry Fact: Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin wanted Patrick Swayze to play Sam Wheat after he saw an interview Swayze gave. When he brought up his father, Swayze became emotional and began to weep. Rubin thought if a macho guy like Patrick Swayze could cry over a loved one, he'd be perfect for this movie. In the farewell scene where Sam tells Molly that he always loved her, Patrick Swayze's emotion was real, for he thought about his own father, who passed away in 1982.
I feel that's completely different emotion.... your father who passed. Or the person you know you'll spend your life with being taken at the beginning of your journey together
Not when they remake it as well as they did Point Break and Roadhouse, which I heard is the plan. I find that outrageous. They can restore these movies to better quality, but they should leave classics like these alone, they were perfect the way they were. Plus, quite a few people who starred in them are not among us anymore, so show some respect and keep their legacy alive instead of creating poor copies that no one needs. My opinion. I’d never show remakes to my kids, always the originals.
@@-breakofdawn- I'm kind of surprised they didn't already go to that well sooner. I can understand remaking some movies if they were low budget and it suffered from it or if it was just a bad movie in general, usually because of it being a product of its time or other factors, but movies that still are competent enough to hold up today shouldn't be remade. I get that some things in it could be considered outdated, like the computers used in it, but it still really holds up overall as a movie.
Nominated for 5 Oscars including Best Picture but won for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress Whoopi Goldberg. It was a box office success making $505 million dollars against a $23 million dollar budget.
Ah, this was one of my late gf's favorite movies. I still come back to this one every now and again; it's simultaneously nostalgic and painful af. RIP Courtney 1987-2014
@tehdesp ohhh sweetheart I'm so sorry to hear that you lost you love. I can't imagine how deeply that must have hurt you. I am sure that she left such a beautiful impact on your life. The time you had together was one of the greatest gifts you will ever have in your lifetime. It will become the gauge for you in some ways if that makes sense. You know that there's never going to be another like her or who can take the love of her. That space that's left inside of your heart that she left was shaped exclusively for her. I truly hope that you've opened yourself up enough to love again because love after a loss can be both challenging but also a fantastic journey. A new love can help you heal in some ways that you never knew needed to be addressed. Please let someone love you HARD! YOU ARE worth another chance and new experience at happiness in your life. I am sending you much love and light sweetie! Rest In Peace Courtney XO 😉💜😎 #NYGenXBIKERLady
@@joshuayeager3686 yeah, hard to catch him in a non villainy role. The flick "Cuffs" with Christian Slater had him as a good guy but he still stresses out in spectacular fashion.
Fun fact: Tony Goldwyn went to a restaurant and he was treated so badly because of the role he played in for this movie. The waitress asked if he was an actor and he said yes. I do Broadway and I’ve been in movies. The waitress finally figured it out and said “you’re from that movie meaning Ghost. He was treated disrespectfully just because of this movie. He said because of the part that I played in Ghost a lot of people hated me because of how I was the villain
Dude, you are such a good hearted person. I’m sure you’re not the only person that you make smile. You made my crumby day a bit better with your compassion and love of movies.
Technically, he didn't kill either one of those bad guys. Their own actions killed them and that's why he went to heaven because he never took someone else's life. I have seen this movie like 100x and I still cry at the end. That's true love right there.
“He got a handful of imagination”✋🛑😂 Your quick witted one-liners are right up my alley!! You didn’t miss a beat with this reaction! 💕😂👌I even watch movies w/u that I know I don’t like, solely for your reaction. Well, this AND to hang w/your sweet pack buddies.
Omg this movie made me cry. Mostly when Sam was about to go to heaven and he tells Molly. "I love you Molly I've always loved you and she says with her eyes filled with tears Ditto" oh the feels. I always start bawling at that one eek. Then to top it off as he is about to go he says. "It's amazing Molly the love inside you take it with you". Who is cutting the onions in here good gosh.
It's just about a perfect flick. It runs through all your emotions. It has enough humor to lighten the dark heavy parts. Love transcends death. Really enjoyed your heartfelt reaction.
You had me cracking up watching this. I loved how…honest you were about your feelings for Carl 😂 So glad you enjoyed this. It’s one of my comfort movies for sure 😊
OMG… so many funny lines in this reaction. “He’s grabbing a handful of imagination” “He is the Captain of the F*ckboy team” “She look like a bottle of Pepto Bismol” “It’s C*ckblock Carl” “Where the cops at? You’re rich & white, they supposed to be there immediately” “Is there Gatorade for Ghosts?” I’m dying (pardon the pun). Keep up the great work!
This is one of my all-time favorite movies.❤ it actually hits me a completely different way now. I just lost my husband. We were together for 10 beautiful years. He died of heart failure, and I really do feel like my whole world got ripped out from underneath me he was the love of my life. The last thing I got to tell him was I love you and goodnight, sweetheart. Please tell the people you love how much you love them every day because you never know how long you're going to have them for.
Lol, “She ain’t got no ass, he’s holding a handful of imagination”……..this is what makes you the best JL and I hope you know this man. Your on the spot, in the moment commentary has no equal and makes movies I have seen countless time, that much more enjoyable. Hell I’m still laughing about Kyle Reese putting on the homeless guys pants, in Terminator, because of your comment about that!! Blank, amazing job editing and avoiding issues with Unchained Melody…just watch out for Oda Mae Brown!! Nothing but love and respect!
Idk which is more humorous, your comments or your dogs trying to sleep while your loud ass is reacting for us 🤣 the one tryin to tuck their head under the pillow got me Lmdo 😝 priceless 🙏
"My dead boyfriend possessed somebody to touch me again" Yo, that had me in stitches!! 😂😂😂 I just kept picturing her next boyfriend's face thinking "You crazy or something?" 😂😂😂
Oh, you guessed early on that the Karl character was a slime!! Also, I’m pretty sure Whoopie IS actually wearing really dark lipstick. AND you made me cry at the end, darn you!
You’re the only reactor I’ve seen that figured out it was Carl from the beginning! Every one else acts surprised to find out it was him. Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite movies 😀
This was my older sister's favorite movie. When she passed away over a year ago, I thought I'd never be able to watch this movie again. But I forced myself to watch it about 6 months later, and I definitely cried, but more than anything......it made me smile just thinking about all the moments we laughed during mostly the Whoopi scenes. I miss my sister so much.
This was huge when it came out. The most successful film in 1990. And it was what used to be known as a 'sleeper hit'. You don't get those so much anymore. A sleeper hit was a film that hit big when no-one was expecting it - it came from left field, as the expression goes. Whoopi Goldberg received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this and Demi Moore became a star. I would also recommend a Spielberg film few remember called Always (1989) which was along the same lines - a love/ghost story, with Holly Hunter and Richard Dreyfuss. Other filmmakers told Spielberg he should have cast bankable stars in it and it would have been a hit. Spielberg only started that with Hook (1991) - and it really wasn't that successful until Saving Private Ryan (1998).
I don’t know why i was so happy to see the beginning with the scroll of all your patrons. I’m really happy to see all these people support you and love these videos. Your brown and white pittie looks just like my little Gracie. Keep up the great job
Here in Brooklyn when they were filming the area where Whoopie had her business and home...We were allowed to watch them film those scenes...That was my neighborhood...When Patrick first gets off the train in Brooklyn...I lived half a block from there under the " J " train line tracks...Companies used to film a lot of movies in our area.
Not sure what part of reaction I loved more.... " Demi's got no ass... you got yourself a handful of imagination Patrick." or " Where da police at? You are a rich white boy..??"
Loved your reaction to this classic. And definitely up there as one of the best movies ever made. I remember how women were literally going out and getting their hair cut, to look just like Demi lol and that amazing, beautiful song was played everywhere! This via Whoopie and Jumpin' Jack flash, another good one she's in and of course, Patrick, with Dirty dancing, may he RIP and Demi. St Elmo's fire. All were huge movies and stars and that lift scene cracked me up even more considering these modern times lmao
The scene after the theatre is in SOHO near Greenwich Village, NY. It has lots of old cobblestone streets . By day it is filled with boutiques, and art galleries .
probably one of the best movies to react to. you had every prefect reaction. this movie is so incredibly well done, I wonder what the filmmakers would think if they saw this.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…”Man ! you are GOOD”. I enjoyed this one enormously…Thank You for sharing 👍🤗 Also, I hope your lovely dogs get plenty of treats…they are perfect background eye -candy…love them 🦮💕✨
I have come back consistently just to see u jump...I laugh every time...I laugh because it reminds me of my mom...she jumped at EVERYTHING. Mommy passed away almost a year ago. I laugh when u jump, then I cry because I miss her so much. So...yes we r laughing when U jump. But know it's with luv.
A couple fun facts - Bruce Willis turned down the role of Sam and he has always said that he regretted it deeply. Little did anyone realize that Demi Moore would eventually be his wife. There's also another interesting fact about Bruce that is somewhat related to this but I won't share it because it might spoil a movie that you may not have reacted to yet. Also, Whoopi Goldberg accepted the role mainly because she really wanted to work with Patrick Swayze. The two were quite the funny pair. The scene at the bank is comedy gold.
